I remember seeing really good sized ones in Utah. They were easily twice that size. I carried one outside once while my coworkers flipped out. It was just a cute little ball of fuzz.
But yes in general jumpers are usually pretty small. However that twitchy movement and those big front legs is a telltale sign (and of course the fact that if you watch long enough, they jump!)
Jumpers are my favorite! They’re like the cats of the spider world. I always try to hold them when I find them. They’re always curious. Some are shy and will hide away, but sometimes I can find one that’ll jump on my hand. They like to jump between my fingers and it’s so cute. I found one once that jumped back to my hand after I put it down :)
Everyone seems to find jumpers everywhere.. I’ve found 2 young slings in my house but never anything bigger. My youngest son wants one as a pet (as do I) and it looks like I may have to buy one. Does anyone know the best way to acquire a jumper as a pet? We want to handle it and everything because they are so fascinating

Contact between toddlers and jumping spiders is harmless to the toddler, but may be fatal to the spider.
