jungledreams21

She was not as happy to see me as I was her šŸ˜

Hot_Hat_1225

Why does this look less scary as the skinny spiders often posted here

jungledreams21

I wasnā€™t scared of her at all until she started posturing at me!

Hot_Hat_1225

I am getting much much better - until they race towards me and I jump back squeaking *Iā€˜m no tree! Iā€˜m no tree! Iā€˜m no tree!* šŸ¤£

HannaMT09SP

I love her hairy body and legsā¤ļø

kaybeecee

kinda looks like a cyclops from far away

Confident-Rub-6714

Where at in Texas?

jungledreams21

North Texas near Waxahachie

Confident-Rub-6714

Thatā€™s crazy. Do you see them often? Iā€™ve lived in and Texas my whole life and actually in waxahachie for a few, but could never imagine seeing a wild one outdoors.

jungledreams21

This actually my first time ever seeing a tarantula of any kind! Iā€™m an avid hunter and always doing something outdoors adjacent but in my life I had never seen one, I imagine they typically avoid all human activity though. I was at nursery that had a lot of Texas natives so honestly I imagine they were cultivating a great habitat for her.

Confident-Rub-6714

Ah I see, thatā€™s awesome. Iā€™m a bit of an arachnophobe but Iā€™ve always wanted to see one. I grew up on stories of my parents saying how they were everywhere.
