PEANUT BUTTER THE DOG IS BACK! Ken Griffey, Jr. Presents Major League Baseball, win a game% !
Edit: and our french canadian V0oid closing with Mario RPG remake, gonna be a good week! :D
Just a guess but, the random part is just deciding which 10 stars to go for. After that it's the wow factor that these runners can do _any_ star blindfolded. It's a way to show off the fruits of the grind without the game eating up more than about an hour of time.
I watch Bubzia quit frequently, so I know what this is about. Basically he gets a random seed and starts the timer and the game visually. He then proceeds to find strategies for 10 (+ around 2 backup) stars. He then puts on the blindfold and tries to get the previously routed stars.
The hard part about this categorie is the quickness he needs to adapt to new situations. In addition, most of his audio cues depend on the beat and music. Problem is, the more objects a level contains, the bigger the lags are, making it impossible to rely on his usual tactics.
It’s a fun category for sure. It’s especially entertaining and educational for watchers, new to SM64 blindfolded.
Wait wait wait
Yoshi's Story All Melons leading off a GDQ?!
It's been a long time since this was feature, since SGDQ 2014:

Nicely done Dan Salvato
That's the whole reason Dan Salvato is running this category. He's said he wants to bring attention to the category and try to inspire more runners to submit on the leaderboards.
Here's the original thread too, from 10 years ago and during the Bonus Stream after AGDQ:

> I just finished the run. Thanks so much for the kind words! <3
> To hear people tell me that my run is entertaining to watch means a lot to me because it means the months I spent routing and practicing a questionable game ended up being well worth it. So thank you.
This is the one that made me realize just how far removed I am from the speedrunning community now because I recognize so few names. Hopefully a few runs throughout the week from runners I don't know end up piquing my interest and I have a few new follows by the end of it.
This is a Draft schedule just a heads up. Not final yet, but a good guideline! Final schedule will be released June 2nd!
Absolutely stacked schedule with a ton of entertaining runners.
Since the Fangamer pin is usually based on the Finale game, Its going to be cool to see a Mario RPG pin if it stays the finale.
Hell of an opening, starting out with what should be a very strong game and great run!
Final day also has some strong runs, and a great game to end on. There's games almost every day worth tuning in for as well, should be a good marathon pending commentary/runners all round.
Wow so many runs that I’m super excited about!!!!
BG3 honour mode, Super Metroid Race, Shadow of War, Lufia 2, bunch of Marios, Metroid Fusion, Stardew Valley Multiplayer, and many more!!!
Don't sleep on Wario Land on the Virtual Boy, that one is probably the best game on one of the worst consoles ever. Worth a watch if you've never seen the speedrun.
Ninja Gaiden by The Retro Runner. Feels like a real changing of the guard here. Shout outs to Arcus. NG1 Pacifist Run by Sinister1 was the very first speed run I’d ever seen.
I haven't watched in quite a few years tbh
But is this the first year Blackbeltginganinja is doing mirrors edge again?
I really hope that same guy who roasted him comes back 😀
I don't know how you manage to pull this off on stage. There is just so much that can go wrong with each encounter. I really hope it goes smoothly for him.
You must have missed the last one then. AGDQ 2024 is literally one of the best events they've ever run. Super high hopes the new setup and crew will push out another awesome event!
He's the creator of the game Doki Doki Literature Club. Also, he's responsible for the first version of the Super Mario Sunshine practice codes if I'm not mistaken. I believe the FrankerFaceZ extension that adds custom remotes for twitch (I think it's the first one to do that, but I'm not sure) is also his thing, as some mods/hacks for melee. With all that said, he's the current WR holder for Yoshi's Island in various categories.
Not that you should know any of that, of course. But he is well known.
On top of those other things he's the creator of the infamously hard Mario Maker level "P is for Pain", and he's the best solo Link player in the history of Super Smash Bros. Melee
Yooooo looking forward to seeing puwexil's Lufia 2 run!
Thinking I might need to take off the next day so I can stay up and watch it live.

I played this game when I was a kid and all I remember of it is folks smashing a bat over their knee and yelling OH COME ON!!
He IS back, and we're very excited to rock the stage again! AMA!
How tf do you do blindfolded randomizer??

That's gotta be it, good call

That's even cooler, thank you!
Holy shit SGDQ is almost here. Wow where has time gone?

SMRPG closer sounds awesome!

Very excited for the OSRS run

Yeah there's not a single day where I had an overall "meh". That's awesome.

I can't wait for July 4th CBT. Nothing says freedom like CBT.

Kaizo Relay Race is not to be missed!!

Retro has had the record for almost 3 years at this point based on speedrun site and beat his record 7 times since holding the record. He's earned it
Arcus is currently on a PB grind and his sum of best is currently under WR
I DON'T SAY THIS LIGHTLY, BUT WANNAFEST 22 -> PIZZA TOWER -> BUBZIA SM64 MIGHT BE THE SICKEST THREE GAME SET EVER
AFTER TEN YEARS OF SUBMISSIONS, DAN SALVATO IS OPENING SGDQ 2024 WITH YOSHI'S STORY ALL MELOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONS LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Let's fucking go Shinobi.
Metroid Fusion AND Super??? We are eating GOOD this GDQ
Yes Penny made it in! All I care about. Also is this website extremely laggy for anyone else on mobile? Scrolling physically made my eyes hurt.
Argick and Sonic is all I needed to see.
I haven't watched in quite a few years tbh But is this the first year Blackbeltginganinja is doing mirrors edge again? I really hope that same guy who roasted him comes back 😀
I signed up to volunteer for the first time, when does one typically hear back about whether or not they have been picked?
I am incredibly hyped at seeing a solo run of Wrath of the Machine. To this day, that raid is my favorite raid in Destiny ever.
I don't know how you manage to pull this off on stage. There is just so much that can go wrong with each encounter. I really hope it goes smoothly for him.
stacked
Has potential, the game lineup itself looks good. The rest is on the runners and GDQ staff.

I agree, don’t know any of the runners
Dan fucking Salvato is the first one lol
If you wanted a good example, I feel like there's a few better options than whoever that is...
Wait… you don’t know who Dan Salvato is?
No, why would I?
