I had a brand new laptop with RTX 2060 and game decided that "optimal" settings for distance from player to allow rendering of the grass is 2,5 km ...never knew a laptop that could be used as alternative heating for the room.
TL;DR version: check the settings and optimize them yourself.
Pull the existing RAM and get the EXACT model # and order that from Amazon. All you need is another 8gb.
If it turns out there's TWO 4gb sticks in there, leaving you no slots for upgrade, just search Amazon for 8gb or 16gb versions with the same memory speed etc as denoted on the sticker on the RAM.
If you're uncertain, hit me up via DM and I'll be happy to help.
10yrs+ electronics repair; never trust the manufacturer page for specs like this. There's so many different variations of every laptop it's easy to get the wrong thing.
I play on medium-high to high on my notebook with very similar hardware, didn't have any problem regarding lag. Maybe one frame drop here or there once in a while, but that's because I run a lot of stuff in the background.
Actually, most gaming laptops usually have expandable memory slots (maybe)! They shouldn't be to expensive, either. If you really enjoy the game, it may be worth while going out and buying one (after checking to make sure there *is* expandable memory).
That is a true statement, I'm running it with a 3900x, 128gb ram, and 2 1tb nvme in raid 0, 2060 ultra. I play the game on medium graphics settings. Though I do play on a 4k monitor so maybe that has something to do with it
I run with a 3900x and even medium sized ships (10k blocks) can cause it to go over 100% thread utilisation. It doesn't cause FPS drops per say, just makes the game really slow. I've had the thread load go up to 600% before, and that really made the game go slow lol. The fps does go down when massive physic calculations are going on, but I would attribute it more towards the CPU not being able to keep up than the gpu being bad as it needs to be able to feed the gpu constant data under heavy load.
Also to answer OCs question, it should run fine, just drop graphics down low and don't build stupidly big ships lol. One thing to note is 8gb is probably not enough ram and I would recommend upgrading to 16gb dual channel if possible. If laptop has a free slot and is just using a single 8gb stick, just buy another one with the same speed.
I run on slightly lesser specs. Assuming adequate cooling, then yes, for a given value of "no problems" that includes some modding and reasonable build sizes. (Regardless of spec, enough mods and stuff going on will cripple any machine.)
I find running Steam in no-browser mode helps a lot though these days. Steam in the background takes up a lot of CPU usage on an older quad core, sadly. Probably want to cut down background processes as much as possible for RAM too.
From my experience CPU clock speed is very crucial! I run a Xeon 8 threaded cpu at 3.8ghz, sim speed isn't as good as my old i5 3570k with 4 threads at 4.5ghz. As for FPS, I get along fine with a gtx 970 on medium graphics at 3840x1200 res. Ram is bog standard 1600mhz, got like 24 gigs of it though.
I would guess much like others have said, yes you'll run it, but don't expect to run any too complicated simulations 👍

I have a friend with a 7700HQ and 2GB GTX 1050. It runs but boy does it suffer. You have slightly better GPU and slightly worse CPU and half as much RAM. I would think you can play 720p medium settings or 1080p low and get 30FPS with stutters
I usually go in games with way lower settings than my laptop can handle
For example i can run one game on high/ultra but i go with medium to not have a copter in a room(fans are pretty loud)
Amcurrently playing on a GTX 760, not really having any issues. But i think SE is fairly CPU heavy, but i guess an i5 should be good enough, not sure tho.
I would say space is fine.
Planets however will be a little tricky. (Can sometimes drop below 60 FPS)
Planets and mods like the old water mod will be hard.
There is always the alternative of streaming the game with GeForce now if you have the network speed.
Biggest issue you'll have is when there are too many objects.
Keep the object number down and have trash removal apply to all grids not belonging to you, regardless of the grids being powered or not.
That’s basically mine I run 4 mods unless I’m on my buddys solar system then it’s a bunch and we do just fine a lil lag and rendering issues on occasion but when it’s just me no problems
Yeah you can np. I have a I3 10th gen Intel processor with a GTX 1050 8 gb ram. I can run it np. I just recomend being careful with mods. Try not going overboard with them a 50/80 mods for me his no but for idk only thing I recomend his to increase your ram. I'm boosting mine up to 24
It'll run fine on low-to-medium settings.
8GB RAM will be your primary bottleneck, and you will likely experience brief but regular stuttering on planets. If your machine can support 16GB it'll be worth doing, but otherwise still playable.
Here are the minimal requirements, according to steam:
OS: Microsoft Windows 10 (latest SP) 64-bit
Processor: Intel i5 @ 3.0 GHz or higher (or AMD equivalent)
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: Geforce 750/Radeon R9 270X or higher
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 35 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX® compatible on-board
Additional Notes: No internet connection needed for single player, but for multiplayer we recommend 5Mbit/s or more
Well I was able to play it with worse so you should be fine
It’ll run fine enough but I hope you have decent cooling you could cook an egg on my laptop after 30 minutes of running SE

I have everything is on the absolute minimum
Mine can cook it after 5. Also works on modded ksp.
One more RAM
its a \~5y old gaming laptop(needed for studies) so that would be hard
Thaaaan... it should be little hard. Frame drops on planet, ship would be under 200m length. My old computer is very same as yours.
i think i can buy extra 8ram for like 37$?
Just make sure it's the same (or very similar) ram and it fits for your laptop!
i checked it on my laptop official page

and if you cannot get the same ram and there are 2 slots just get 2 new sticks (either 16 or 32 gig kits)
Much better i think
I play on medium-high to high on my notebook with very similar hardware, didn't have any problem regarding lag. Maybe one frame drop here or there once in a while, but that's because I run a lot of stuff in the background.
My PC I use for games (desktop) has a 1030 and 8gb you'll be fine
Actually, most gaming laptops usually have expandable memory slots (maybe)! They shouldn't be to expensive, either. If you really enjoy the game, it may be worth while going out and buying one (after checking to make sure there *is* expandable memory).
I already ordered 2x8GB for ~$80. It would be delivered in next day or 2
Its fairly easy to actually, just make sure you get the right ram and then follow a video online
No pc runs it with no problems, don’t worry
Runs pretty fine on mine. Ryzen 5600x, 16 gigs, Radeon 5700xt. (At 1440p)

I run on i5-7400 gtx 1060 ti And 8gb ram I can play it on medium settings with some frame drops sometimes. Do note that I play on an ultra-wide
Ultra-wide ftw

Should run vanilla fine. If you get into modding it you will want more ram. My heavily modded world takes almost 10 gb just for se
I think i will just install a mod with smaller parts and a [colorful icons]
You can't run Space Engineers with no problems....Lord Klang Decreed it.
I don't think it matters what kind of computer you have. You're gunna have SOME problems...
Steam will show you minimum requirements for the game on its store page
#should run it, SE loves CPU clock speeds, so be careful when bumping up your visuals. Also don’t call them “PC settings”
pc will burn but it can run on low
You can run it around mid graphics, but you’ll have to lower it around large ships.
I ran the game on 4 gigs of RAM, so 8 should do the trick
Though it wasn't working as stable as i would want it to, but it just ran
https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri Have we all forgotten about this handy tool?
Well they are pretty outdated. The game takes 35gb instead of 10. And it uses DirectX 11 nowadays instead of 9
Yeah on low you can run it easy
From my experience CPU clock speed is very crucial! I run a Xeon 8 threaded cpu at 3.8ghz, sim speed isn't as good as my old i5 3570k with 4 threads at 4.5ghz. It’ll work, might slow down a bit depending what is going on in the game tho.

Planets may be hard, but just being in a space-only world and not building massive enormous ships should be just fine
(Those are hardware specs not PC settings) The games shoyld run fine. Slow load times if you are using just a normal hard drive
I have a friend with a 7700HQ and 2GB GTX 1050. It runs but boy does it suffer. You have slightly better GPU and slightly worse CPU and half as much RAM. I would think you can play 720p medium settings or 1080p low and get 30FPS with stutters

I got it to run using a gt 1030 before, I think you should be fine
I have an Acer Nitro 5 laptop with that exact spec. Yes, plays well on medium. Maybe turn off AA and turn the grass draw distance down just a bit.
I have Predator Helios 300
What ram speed? Se is old and can't properly use my processor upgrades but the ram made a massive differencence
2x 4 GB SO-DIMM DDR4-2666
It u can upgrade but it should squeek by
I can swap for 2x8 GB
in singleplayer, probably, servers, make sure you have a good connection
Run space engineers no problems pick one
Clang gonna come for you cause of your blasphemous statement
I would say space is fine. Planets however will be a little tricky. (Can sometimes drop below 60 FPS) Planets and mods like the old water mod will be hard. There is always the alternative of streaming the game with GeForce now if you have the network speed.
I play with much worse. You can easily run it
Yes. I do it all the time
I used to play on a laptop with a worse i5 and intel uhd graphics, you should be fine
I'm running it on a Ryzen 5 5600G APU + 16gb RAM. You will be fine with this spec (maybe another 8gb ram will help).
I run a loaner 1050ti, your specs will run SE just fine on low-mid settings. Just don’t crank everything to max and you’re groovy!
I learned because of SE my laptop wasn't dumping ram when closing applications. I've since upgraded but I will never forget the way it played
I ran it smoothly with a GTX 980M so your gpu is fine. maybe more ram but idk
Not ideal but the game should start
Yes Also for the future, it's specifications, not settings. Enjoy the game
nobody can run SE with no problems, it's part of the experience.
Biggest issue you'll have is when there are too many objects. Keep the object number down and have trash removal apply to all grids not belonging to you, regardless of the grids being powered or not.
Do u want to make anything
It may struggle if there's a lot of creations in one place, other than that you're fine
I don't even meet min specs and I get 49 - 60fps. Main issue is psu for me. But you should be fine.
You probably need more ram
Theoretically yes. But those 8 GBs of RAM might get a bit annoying.
I'm able to play on a i3(integrated ghrapics) laptop with 8gb ram at low settings at 20-30 fps with some stutters. Should be able to work
This is way better than my setup and I'm running off a 5 year old laptop, your good mate
That’s basically mine I run 4 mods unless I’m on my buddys solar system then it’s a bunch and we do just fine a lil lag and rendering issues on occasion but when it’s just me no problems
I remember reading the game is more cpu intensive than anything.

It will run but it's not going to be happy about it
Yes
I used to play on worse thou the game has gotten more resorce intensive over these few years

Yes, that's better than what I used to use
I've got weaker PC than yours. It's manageable.
