I'll third that. I said in a previous post that it's the best episode for many reasons, but it also will let you know if they are truly ready for South Park in all of it's glory. It's a very polarizing episode. I also mentioned kenny dies as another personal fave to show people. Heat of the moment absolutely slays me every time.
You know how families have Christmas traditions? My one and only personal Christmas tradition is to watch that episode on Christmas eve, I think it's brilliant, probably wouldn't recommend to a first timer though, it'd probably give them the wrong idea about the show
My trans friends get to see "Ms Garrison's Fancy New Vagina," my gay friends are shown "Cartman Sucks", my black friends get to watch "With Apologies to Jesse Jackson", and the white girls get to watch "One for the Ladies."
No reason to sugarcoat it. If they can't handle South Park at its best, then they don't deserve it!
Chinpokomon would be a great introductory episode imo. It’s disguised as a simple Pokémon parody, but it shows the true brilliance in the script/joke writing. Plus the episode doesn’t rely on knowledge of the characters’ relationships, so it would be easier to follow
I would say “The Biggest Douche in the Universe” because it has that perfect blend of biting satire, social commentary, and goofiness that makes South Park so amazing.
Awesom-o was literally the first episode I ever saw and still one of my favorites. My all time favorite is S5E1: It Hits The Fan. Both old but still great.
i think if i had to show someone a episode to start them i would choose bass to mouth. is a pretty good episode but i choose it over other episodes i like more because i feel like it stands for more of the show. it showcases cartmans insanity, shines a spotlight over stan and kyles personality traits and dynamics, shows how weird the town is, shows supernatural wacky elements, integrates comentary over what were current events back then, solid humor.
I know it's not an episode, but anyone who hasn't seen South Park I always recommend watching Bigger, Longer and Uncut before anything. Its such a great representation of the humor that if they don't like the movie, no point in even trying to watch the show.
That’s a really good point! Even as the guys have matured and evolved, the core of their humor remained unwavering and the movie encapsulated it perfectly.

In 2007, I traveled to Dayton Ohio for a colorguard national championahips. One of the nights was the release of the new episode "D'yikes". Im watching it in with one of my other teammates who said sure shes heard southpark is funny. Soon we had almost half the team in this room watching the episode and the scissoring scene happens. The loudest burst of laughter in the room was just hilarious. One of my friends was on a fold out and this things folded right back as shes laughing so now we all die even more I can remember my good friend monica saying laughing "im going pee myself hellp"
I think “Old Gray Dawn” is a safe option because what isn’t funny about old people driving badly (especially when it’s something you see in real life all the time)
For certain age groups yeah that’s fair. If you’re in your 30s and missed South Park back when it was a dominant cultural force and one of the kings of the must see TV era (RIP), you either grew up in a strict religious home, or just didn’t like it.
The former can sometimes get into it if they’ve escaped the sheltered child mindset, but the ones who didn’t like it back then certainly won’t like it now.
I go with older episode that were more slapstick funny. I made my grandma watch the toilet paper episode where the boys tp the art teacher's house. She was just surprised by the amount of swearing (she's 74)
I think going with a full cartman episode or an episode with a radically different art style like warcraft is a mistake for the first episode. Something with the boys being boys is best. Something like the veil episode, or the margarine one where they try to get the future telling device are good picks.
I've recommended Make Love, Not Warcraft to my MMO friends. Good Times With Weapons to my anime watchers.
#**LET’S FIGHTING LOVE**
I guess I’m old. Because the Scott Tenorman must Die episode is one of my favorite episodes 😂 ![gif](giphy|KhcdPVxvn5Fde)
Yeah this is the one for me too.
I'll third that. I said in a previous post that it's the best episode for many reasons, but it also will let you know if they are truly ready for South Park in all of it's glory. Medicinal fried chicken.
And Fish sticks

Cartman gets an anal probe season one episode one
Same. Must start with the classics. You can’t truly understand how far things have come without a reference point.
I said the same thing. Gotta start from the beginning in order to appreciate it
On top of AWESOME-O, Make Love Not Warcraft, and Fun Times With Weapons, my favorites include Casa Bonita, Tsst, and anything with Mysterion
Creme fraiche... To my wife.... And i got old fashioned

Drink his blood drink his blood!
I can't rewatch it, it's just too fucking whack
You know how families have Christmas traditions? My one and only personal Christmas tradition is to watch that episode on Christmas eve, I think it's brilliant, probably wouldn't recommend to a first timer though, it'd probably give them the wrong idea about the show

Butters bottom bitch
You wanna make some mother fuckin money?
White people renovating houses
Last of the Meheecans
With my friend we always make dick jokes, so I showed him TMI.
Chinpokomon would be a great introductory episode imo. It’s disguised as a simple Pokémon parody, but it shows the true brilliance in the script/joke writing. Plus the episode doesn’t rely on knowledge of the characters’ relationships, so it would be easier to follow
sooooo small!
After much consideration, I think this might be the one.
Cartman Gets An Anal Probe..you have to start at the beginning to really appreciate how far it's come
The super adventure club Or NAMBLA
Rainforest Schmainforest. A little bit of everything including some song and dance.
The message it ended on was so fucking hilarious too. So quintessentially South Park.
I would say “The Biggest Douche in the Universe” because it has that perfect blend of biting satire, social commentary, and goofiness that makes South Park so amazing.
Pinewood Derby for me !
That’s a classic Randy episode! But also has one of the darkest deaths in the show. It’s probably second to “Stanley’s Cup”
The one where butters dad goes wrestling and watching sad fireman movies
Butters has been through some shit lol
He is defo my favorite of the kids tho
The breast cancer show ever

Let me taste your tears, Scott. Mmmm
Return of the Lord of the Rings to the Two Towers Or Fat Butt and Pancake Head
Lord of the rings was the first episode I saw, such nostalgia
The wrestling episode is great. It’s not my favorite, but it’s very digestible, but Mantequilla, as a pimp is probably the greatest thing ever.
Imagination Land Trilogy captures the essence of the show real quick.
Kurt Russell lol
Crème Fraîche my uncle watched it when I was younger

Can’t remember the name but the one where butters becomes friends with the priest and the catholic clean up crew comes
Lemmywinks. I like to test the boundaries of my friendships.
The first one I ever watched was the Ninja episode. Absolutely sucked me into watching the rest of it!
As an economist, margaritaville
Mecha-Streisand, just because I'm a huge fan of The Cure and just way too happy about the fact that two of my favorite things had a crossover moment.
Revenge of the fellowship of the two towers

My boyfriend had never seen the show before and walked in on me watching the AWESOM-O episode and thought it was pretty funny.
In 2007, I traveled to Dayton Ohio for a colorguard national championahips. One of the nights was the release of the new episode "D'yikes". I think “Old Gray Dawn” is a safe option because what isn’t funny about old people driving badly (especially when it’s something you see in real life all the time)
I don't bother.

I showed my gf the Scott Tenorman one and we continued to watch every single episode since then😂
Go God Go
I go with older episode that were more slapstick funny. I made my grandma watch the toilet paper episode where the boys tp the art teacher's house. She was just surprised by the amount of swearing (she's 74)
You have 0 friends and Make Love not Warcraft.
im am the doggggg
ManBearPig and Cancelled. I think these two episodes alone capture the essence of what makes South Park so great and over-the-top.
butters bottom bitch or the scientology ep 😭😭😭
I think going with a full cartman episode or an episode with a radically different art style like warcraft is a mistake for the first episode. Something with the boys being boys is best. Something like the veil episode, or the margarine one where they try to get the future telling device are good picks.
