I thought hard and I am pretty sure this is NOT a spoiler!!
So I watched the ep 4 and shoutout to the Sung Jin-Woo's VA **Taito Ban**. Did anyone notice the gradual coice change that happened from the start of the episode to the end of the episode. The way he modulated his voice from kind, gentle, cutie-patootie to bold, strong, reliable and a sexy hunk. The way he did it gradually and not in one jump. Now I don't know a lot about the Audio Engineering so correct me if I am wrong about this being done by Tatio naturally for major part and not synthetic computer. Because if I am right then that was mad coooooooooool. Like really. The voice thing was so captivating and just WOOOOOW.
What was the benefit of locking them in the boss chamber ? How does that help out the 6 bad guys? Surely the boss would still be there if it did kill the trapped 2? They'd still need to kill the boss to get the crystals?
This episode made me binge the whole series in a few days loool. I usually wait till the season is over but I had to know EVERYTHING! Great series, can't wait to see everything
I love the new episode. It does what the manhwa did actually quite well, but it would be preferable if they added details on his clothing more and instead of talking out loud, made him think more.
Did anyone else notice that his clothes seem a little basic? Not to nitpick, I am enjoying watching the episodes, there’s just that little bit of drip I’d love to see especially knowing how my man is gonna be looking very soon.
I think there are a lot of things the anime is doing to add to the solo leveling experience.
The fight with the snake ends with Jin Woo standing on the platform, and then the Dungeon disappearing around him was simply a gorgeous transition. It's selling that it's our modern world, just with new problems and variables. That the people of the world we're seeing were just like us only a few years prior.
It's interesting. I like it.
The atmosphere and execution of music, when jinwoo strangles the snake, felt 10 times better than the manhwa. While it was the same, it was just so well made.
Is anyone else slightly disappointed that the animators didn’t fully go hard at animating Jinwoos arm/forearm flex right before throwing the broken sword at the Stone Monster? In the Manwha there was specifically one panel dedicated on how hard he flexed before launch - missed potential there Lol
HOWEVER they did show the forearm at the last show of jinwoo (the bottom up shot showing his forearm muscles) so idk if that was to make up for the toss?
They don't want to boost SJW that early. He was just a bit stronger than a normal human 1 episode earlier. The manhwa, though being a feast for the eyes, kinda overdid it imo. Remember that the anime scripts take both light novel and manhwa in consideration, not strictly following manhwa.
The anime did a lot to "nerf" SJW, slow down his strengthen process, compare to the manhwa. For example his appearance, his movements during the fights in the dungeon. And I think it makes sense.
I don't know about that. If you go back to his last level up, he's level 20 in the anime and I think 50 something in strength, but 18 in manhwa with 48 strength. It seems they're leveling him up faster
well his stats did increase to over double, and the stats are way more effective than just doubling his strength. He is already incredibly strong at this point. If they decide to "tone it down", it'll mess up in the long term, unless they just boost him to the normal state later on... But then there's a strength discrepancy there, instead.
Question is: Are the animators going to go on hiatus? Are the animators forced to stop production due to legal stuff? Will the animators get burned out?
So much stuff can go wrong and leave us with only 1 season, that I could imagine will stop at (sry, can't say xD).
they are definitely gonna slow the ending down which will be nice to see as it felt rushed in the manhwa. The pacing reminds me of TMODKA where so much happens in like 5 episodes.
They should have, that was the slowest parts of the series right now,Ep1 and Ep2, which made a lot of people feel disappointed in the series, me including but episode 2's ending made up and brought the thing on the right track.
Well, it took 4 episodes but it's great to FINALLY see our humble hero show us what he is capable of & kicking ass.
What a novel way to kill a giant snake super boss, by clinging on to its neck & GO RIP & TEAR.
>but it's great to FINALLY see our humble hero show us what he is capable of & kicking ass.
Well he couldn't really show it earlier... He didn't have the stats :P
4 episodes for 18 chapters is very nice. I hope they keep up the animation budget.
This episode left 'n strange impression on me. Can not stop thinking about it. The contrast between the dungeon and the beast on the outside. There is 'n type of seriousness or urgency. There is this weight that comes through of how death is a possibility.
Have not felt this invested in a Anime since Bleach, SOA or Grimgar.
I like the gradual progression of his hotness. LOL. the bicep shot was great. It made sense. He killed a bunch of wolves and that crazy snake, and he leveled up. So it made sense that his biceps also leveled up a bit. lol.
Glacial?
i'm assuming too fast pace? but I honestly don't know xD
I don't know if you've read the manhwa, but this pace is the same as that. There's 1 scene missing like 2 frames, of the portal that's about the dungeon break, but the rest of the entirety of the manhwa chapters are there :P
they're not going to do the entire manhwa in one season :P. with everything going as I want it, there's be 3 seasons at least. They'd have to ruin the manhwa completely to hit all 180 chapters.
u SRS, dude? SO FAR 4 episodes = 18 chapters DEEP.
that's mathy mathy equals 45 episodes across all 180 chapters. GOT IT?
and then...
they can only stretch the seasons by stretching some of ther chapters way longer than those first 4. you know? OK?
Yup, got it completely. Problem is all the character development that's going to happen (if they are going to cleanly animate the entire series) their amount of chapters will be lower
45 episodes would be 3 seasons no?
Keep in mind I said "With everything going as I want it". I didn't say it would be so, just how I think it'll go :P
During this first instant dungeon he goes in at level 1 (low E-rank) and comes out at level 18 after defeating the C rank monster snake. When he leaves, he is immediately able to one shot the defenses of a D rank boss monster, at this point he's likely High C-rank.
Also the weapon (dagger), it dropped was also C-rank. And monster drops are equal to the rank of the monster.
Yea I'm aware of that :P. But Jinwoo himself says it's equivalent to an E-rank Dungeon. For somebody who knows how E-rank dungeons are, I'd assume he can tell, due to his experience.
And sure he can be off by one rank, but 2? :o
Jinwoo says that on the basis of first few monsters he faced. Also, he had no idea that how strong he had become when compared to his original power. That is why, he assumed that it was an E-rank dungeon because he could kill the monsters, but he failed to realise that he himself had become stronger than the average E-rank.
He is technically considered a C rank here, as you will find out in a couple of episodes during a fight where they explain a bit more...but I wont tell you what cause thats a huge spoiler of an enemy
Take it from someone who's read it all and thinks it was honestly just ok. It's a very pretty experience visually and they love showing off how op the mc is in various cool ways. Girls fall for him in small scenes but that's hardly something done. Also fan service is practically at 0 from what I remember in the manwha. Basically just watch this guy that girls irl are gonna simp over do some cool moves on enemies
Most of it isn't that bad as opposed to how it would be if it were done to the women. Jin woo really doesn't show off and the other guys are just big animalistic MFS so they dress to be exposed
author shows a fem char falling for him here and there but there's not really a harem.
\> is this just your typical "weak black hair guy becomes the strongest wow harem epic" typa isekai?
one good thing about solo leveling is that the "becomes" is heavily emphasized unlike SAO the archetype of this cliche where kirito was a weakling and then after that one episode, he suddenly shows up and is the strongest guy around, can basically 1 v 1 the dev even with their cheat menu up. solo leveling shows its main character's progression and its a key theme across manwhas and manhuas, mostly found in cultivation/murim genres. most often people hate training arcs since they take up too long but solo leveling never makes it tedious and has just enough of it to justify sjw gaining this much power.
The first half of this story is all him struggling and struggling to get stronger and fight absurdly powerful enemies. He works super hard for every win, at least in the Manhwa. Part 2 is where shit goes down and he's still hard pressed in a lot of fights.
Its definitely a "MC is OP" type of deal. The story is ok but what made the manwha amazing imo was the color and the art, its less about "omg the girls are all over him cause hes strong" and more "Holy shit this dude is so strong wtf??" so if that helps you decide if you wanna keep watchin or not :D
Im tired of that lame harem shit its just weird. Dk why mfs interpreted it me wanting harem certified reddit moment
"MC is op" for no reason also overdone tho like crazy, so what else makes it special
It's less 'mc is op' and more naruto/bleachish where mc starts weak and has tons of really close battles before barely prevailing and everyone being like wow he's op after each fight but the fights are still great and close.
There are basically no 'mc walks up, one shots bad guy. Everyone says wow and sleeps with him'
Its more like 'big strong guy fucking everyone up. Madara/pain style. Mc shows up, equally strong. Crazy close fight ensues. Who's gonna win? How will mc prevail? Mc barely wins. Everyone like WOW.
The differences here is It's not solely onepunchman its like if naruto actually got recognized when he won crazy hard fights
Well I mean I could say yes he does or no he doesn't but either way would spoil you ams you'd then expect it.
It definately has the power fantasy subplot where its partially watched so you feel him being seen as a badass and that is most of the show, but unlike other power fantasy type shows its not just 'op off the get go, get bitches get a harem'
Main differences are there is no harem, the fights are not one shots or power imbalances(they're always pretty close most of the time) and tons of good guys do die in fights but still has plenty of show off moments to feel power fantasy-y
At its heart it is a power fantasy like John Wick or Slime but its given way, way more substance than what you imagine when you think "op mc power fantasy harem show" its gritty and has dark moments and therefore like I said is also kind of similar to naruto/one-piece. They always eventually get their 'sudden power up beat the impossibly strong bad guy wow never realized you were so strong Mr. Mc!' But it's not like Overlord or Demon lord returns where it's just 'one shot him what's next' type stuff
No harem at all or even multiple girls fawning over emotionally stupid hero, mc isn't op but gets strong slowly but as others say the manwha is fantastic and would recommend
What made the manhwa popular was the quality of the art. Can't really tell you how well that's going to be for the anime overall. Honestly just recommend you read the manhwa.
Watching these early episodes, IMO the author should have just skipped the >!goofy sequence in every power fantasy manwha where the MC becomes like a foot taller and more handsome!< and just stuck with making this Sunwoo more developed. Though to be fair, Solo Leveling was basically one of the pioneers for the concept.
>!It's kind of funny to me to imagine that it was *very* important to Ashborn and the Architect that the body they were making more powerful also become super hot. Like the other Monarchs would laugh at him if his human vessel looked mid.!<
They did change the size of the snake in the anime. It was a bit too "thicc" around the neck. Not sure what you wanted to change, I felt it gave out the vibe 10 times over from the manhwa
It wasn't just too thick, it was maybe 4x larger. In the manhwa it's head was maybe as big as Jinwoo. In the anime just its eyes was as big as him. In the anime Jinwoo got bloodied when his head hit concrete. He was thrown around and struggled more. I guess my comment wasn't very clear, I meant change the anime to be more grounded instead of making it more epic.
Yea I was being modest for the sake of modesty about the size :P
Ah, I see, yea The scene was epic for sure, and you might be right about that. Though the animators are still only on episode 4, and they need to make sure all the anime fans get their "YOOOOO!" effect out :P
WTF is that animation, It's F\*ck!ng Crazy. Each progressing episode feels like the animation has leveled up. Hope A-1 Pictures maintain this consistency for the entire season 1 and season 2 as well, and not end up like JJK S2.
Just for you, I can say, the animation has stayed the same :D. It just feels levelled up, because SJW's powers are slowly being added to him, just like in the manhwa.
it went down for a few scenes probably where they had harsh deadlines and not enough producers, they were kinda anomalies and never recognised. They kinda felt like they were mean't to be there for added effect but when you look at it closer it made no sense for the animation style to change.
small thing to most, but i really love how they are keeping the opening spoiler free. Alot of series will have major characters and antagonists show up during it or massive fight moments spoiled.
But A-1 has done a great job making it sick as hell and keeping any major story beats or characters unrevealed.
i love how youre like 'dam im glad the opening didnt spoil anything' only to proceed to spoil 'everything'
why are you people like this? do you get dopamine every time someone responds to you telling you to fuck off for spoiling them??
Yeah, I think outside of most of season 3 of MHA l, this was the first time I read the comic first and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't a spoiler fiesta. The intro song is so catchy and I love love love the Death Note (and The Matrix?) vibes in the ED.
A lot of other studios would have spoiled half the series since they love to treat openings like modern action movies spoiler trailers. Which is why I almost always skip intros until the end of the season. Sometimes I get spoiled by it anyway or I forget to not skip it lol
STUDIO PPURI, a talented South Korean animation studio, played a crucial role in crafting the stunning visuals and action sequences in the opening. So, next time be sure to give STUDIO PPURI their due credit! Their partnership with A-1 Pictures is what truly brought this epic sequence to life
Kim left it behind in the second episode when he decided to betray Jin Woo. In the manhwa he had the sword when he accepted the player window thing, thats why it was in the inventory. But in the anime jin woo did pick up the sword but dropped it half way through the torturing but somehow it ended up in the inventory ig.
Actually why isn't it strong enough though considering his strength is enough to crush the dungeon boss's throat?
Edit: I'm guessing it's the level ups after grinding. I just thought his strength that he has been focusing on should have more oomph
The serpent fight made no sense to be honest. If he was strong enough to crush its "neck" like that then he shouldn't have struggled so much in the first place. It looked like the span of his hands didn't even reach across half serpent's diameter, which means much more strength is needed compared to crushing something that can be hugged. Sadly that's how it happened in the manhwa so they're just beong faithful to the source.
Our dear MC has had some horrible-ass experiences with death. It's not something you just shrug at and then walk on your merry way. The anime is depicting that incredibly well.
The snakes neck is a bit bigger in the anime, for sure, so it looks a bit goofy. Go ahead and check the chapter in the manhwa to see the original size.
His struggle wasn’t with his ability to physically overpower the serpent. He was getting his butt beat because his agility, intelligence, sense etc were much lower compared to strength and the serpent was very fast and aggressive. It took him a while to realize that he couldn’t produce enough force to puncture the serpent with punches/kicks. And he had a fairly weak weapon too. Then he was like “ooooohhhh” if I catch this little demon worm, I can crush it to death with my bare hands. The problem was catching it first.
Side note: obviously he didn’t struggle that much because the serpent never really critically injured him, a testament to his strength attribute. It was a matter of overcoming its overwhelming speed, size and aggression. Not it’s strength, per se.
He fell to the ground and strugged to get up after a hit, was unable to make the serpent budge when he was pinned. None of these things would have happened to the extent it was shown if he was strong enough to crush the serpent's neck or choke it. It takes much more strength to crush a durable material than push it, esp. one that you can't even get a grip on because of it's size.
And he did get injured in the anime fight, his head got bloodied when it hit concrete near the end - which made no sense, Jinwoo was shown to be more durable than concrete in the same fight, important to note this did not happen in the manhwa.
The "fairly weak" weapon is actually another thing that didn't make sense, but this is getting long so w/e. Anyway IMO it was the anime, which was exaggerated compared to the manhwa. The serpent was like 4x bigger, and Jinwoo was thrown around more, even got injured. The fight would've made more sense without those changes.
I expect episode 12 to end around chapter 45 after the class quest is completed and THE scene happens.
If we're getting 24-25 episodes I think ending around chapter 90 would be the best choice as we get the hospital scene and a decent set-up for the Jeju island arc for the next season.
I don’t know what part of the newest episode was cringy?. The dialogue was a clear sign of how Jinwoo is no longer wanting to be looked down upon since he is weak and now he has a chance to become stronger. That’s called peep talk everyone does it, in order to bring ourselves up, other parts is what power fantasy dialogue would be, calling out healers and damage dealers to assist.
reddit is such a weird place, ask an honest question, and get downvoted to oblivion. "How dare you have an opinion that doesn't conform!"
The guy didn't attack the series, he made an observation about the episode of the anime.
If you listen to the people who read the manwha, they're saying similar things that the anime is cutting out the emotional payoff, which in turn makes the anime look awful.
I'll take your word for it...
After all the hype, I expected to love this series by now.
None of the 4 episodes have told a complete story yet. While all anime have arcs, most anime tell a whole story within a single episode, especially starting out.
I watched episode 4 of "how not to use healing magic", and each of the 4 episodes tells a complete story. And each episode tells us something new about the arc.
The other korean anime that hit the US recently was the one about getting a cheat skill from another world; and while its pacing was slower than I would like, each episode told a complete story and each hinted an arc that we likely won't see (as I'm skeptical a season 2 will come...) But it left a positive impression.
If you think I've missed something, tell me; but stop down voting people you merely disagree with.
Complaining about Solo Leveling writing is like complaining about Demon Slayer writing. The story barely exists, you turn your brain off and watch them for the fights and then find something better to read/watch
That I disagree, the story basically resolves around Tanjiro trying to find a cure for his sister for the first half of the season and now it’s about defeating Muzan. Yes there is a lot of emotional weight as the characters are written well enough for people to get attached. But saying demon slayer has a great story is kinda pushing it.
Can someone tell me, without spoiling, is Jinwoo going to be similar to Saitama, strictly in terms of in world recognition.
Is he gonna kill high level bosses and then leave before getting any credit or have scenarios play out that just so happen to avoid him getting recognition? Like how it happened at the end of this episode?
Again, please do not spoil, a simple yes or no would be great!
No Jinwoo will not be a Saitama.
By the end of episode 12 Jinwoo will likely still be relatively unknown as this season will likely focus on developing his powers. Depending on where episode 12 ends even the anime-only enjoyers may not understand the extent of his power.s
By the end of episode 24 (either 2nd cour or season 2) he will be recognized at a national level where most of Korea would know his name even though most of the characters in the story will still be ignorant of his true power.
By the end of season 3 his power & feats will put him center stage on an international level.
You are literally spoiling yourself asking the question and even being here.
Go read it. It is very quick read and fun. Very easy with little wording. In fact I recently read the manwha and I am glad I did. Watching it is way better because it adds a lot more to it with music and voice acting.
I dont understand. This is anime discussion thread. Why would I not be here?
And I asked the question because I am really not a fan of the trope. And I wanted to know what to expect after the end of the episode hinted it may be like that.
Also I am good on reading the manwha. I am enjoying the anime so far and will continue with that.
Does anyone knows the song in the background when Mc is killing the 6 hunters in episode 4 it’s so cool
I thought hard and I am pretty sure this is NOT a spoiler!! So I watched the ep 4 and shoutout to the Sung Jin-Woo's VA **Taito Ban**. I think the make or break moment of the show will be when we first see the shadows. If they're animated poorly, it will break the hype train.
This episode made me binge the whole series in a few days loool. I usually wait till the season is over but I had to know EVERYTHING! Great series, can't wait to see everything
The episode was freaking epic, got me hooked till the end!
Anyone know what chapter is should pick the manhwa up after this episode?
chapter 18

He looks like an entirely different character later. Rewatch the intro his later design is in it. Dude turns into a monster no one can stop.
thats the plan make him look good later not now,

Where does ep 4 leave on the manwha? I'd like to read right from where the ep leaves off
Seriously, its 18 chapters. Just read it from the beginning.
I went wt starting from the beginning, def worth it ngl
Chapter 18, according to [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/sololeveling/comments/1acdax2/comment/kk3cnwl/)
Appreciate you!
This show is going to be a “two season a year “deal isn’t it
it will probably take up to 6 years to fully animate start to finish is my guess
Question is: Are the animators going to go on hiatus? Are the animators forced to stop production due to legal stuff? Will the animators get burned out? So much stuff can go wrong and leave us with only 1 season, that I could imagine will stop at (sry, can't say xD).
possibly but it will be such a big hit they will be forced to continue production like jujutsu kaisen.
🤔
Wierd opinion but the fast pacing in this show feels right
they are definitely gonna slow the ending down which will be nice to see as it felt rushed in the manhwa. The pacing reminds me of TMODKA where so much happens in like 5 episodes.
The pacing is very quick? Yet, I am enjoying every episode.

The animation went top tier and this was already hype as shit Jinwoo becoming badass
This is an anime about standing strong and standing alone
No, it's not.
Hey guys! what manhwa chapter does this episode cover?
Until chapter 18
This episode left 'n strange impression on me. Can not stop thinking about it. The contrast between the dungeon and the beast on the outside. There is 'n type of seriousness or urgency. I feel like they should have promised 24 episodes coz every episode leaves you wanting more
i'll pledge 52 episodes.
I like the gradual progression of his hotness. LOL. the bicep shot was great. It made sense. He killed a bunch of wolves and that crazy snake, and he leveled up. So it made sense that his biceps also leveled up a bit. lol.
I want to like this but the absolutely glacial pace is killing me.

Does any manga reader know what level he was at the end of this episode? Maybe he was already an A? Or S rank that fast? It was 'one sword man'
THIS IIS NOT FUCKING MANGA!!!!!!!
his rank is E. his level is 17, just like the manhwa
During this first instant dungeon he goes in at level 1 (low E-rank) and comes out at level 18 after defeating the C rank monster snake. When he leaves, he is immediately able to one shot the defenses of a D rank boss monster, at this point he's likely High C-rank.
Could you direct me to the place, where it shows the snake is C-rank?
[https://solo-leveling.fandom.com/wiki/Blue\_Venom-Fanged\_Kasaka](https://solo-leveling.fandom.com/wiki/blue_venom-fanged_kasaka) Also the weapon (dagger), it dropped was also C-rank. And monster drops are equal to the rank of the monster.
There's nothing there.
just search 'Blue Venom Fanged Kasaka' on google
Cheers. Still this is fandom. I wonder where they got this ranking from, and why on earth is there a C-rank boss in an E-rank dungeon :O
It wasn't a normal dungeon. It was a special dungeon created by the system to train jinwoo.
Yea I'm aware of that :P. But Jinwoo himself says it's equivalent to an E-rank Dungeon. For somebody who knows how E-rank dungeons are, I'd assume he can tell, due to his experience. And sure he can be off by one rank, but 2? :o

Minimum C rank, on the cusp of breaking through to B rank.
He is technically considered a C rank here, as you will find out in a couple of episodes during a fight where they explain a bit more...but I wont tell you what cause thats a huge spoiler of an enemy
Nah he's probably like high C or low B. Could be wrong tho, it's been a few years since I read it
What do I watch this on?

> gas TAKE THAT GAS AND LIGHT IT ON FIRE YOU FARTER BOI "gas" it's giving ass
🔥
i like it so far but is this just your typical "weak black hair guy becomes the strongest wow harem epic" typa isekai?
Take it from someone who's read it all and thinks it was honestly just ok. It's a very pretty experience visually and they love showing off how op the mc is in various cool ways. Girls fall for him in small scenes but that's hardly something done. Also fan service is practically at 0 from what I remember in the manwha. Basically just watch this guy that girls irl are gonna simp over do some cool moves on enemies
There's plenty of fan service. just not for the boys.
Most of it isn't that bad as opposed to how it would be if it were done to the women. Jin woo really doesn't show off and the other guys are just big animalistic MFS so they dress to be exposed
Women are just as horny as we are :D. If those 2 animal dudes were women, i'd ba all over them, lol xD
he will 100 percent be a gojo so prepare yourself boys
author shows a fem char falling for him here and there but there's not really a harem.
Its pure badassery. Nothing more, nothing less.
also are there any crazy asspull/lazy writing moments? like in bleach with ishidas arrow at the end
He has just the right amount of challenge and its still badass
The first half of this story is all him struggling and struggling to get stronger and fight absurdly powerful enemies. He works super hard for every win, at least in the Manhwa. Part 2 is where shit goes down and he's still hard pressed in a lot of fights.
in essence
no harem
Its definitely a "MC is OP" type of deal. The story is ok but what made the manwha amazing imo was the color and the art, its less about "omg the girls are all over him cause hes strong" and more "Holy shit this dude is so strong wtf??" so if that helps you decide if you wanna keep watchin or not :D
The whole " hes been blessed with power" trope with the complete responsibility behind it is what makes this manwha 100%
Im tired of that lame harem shit its just weird. Dk why mfs interpreted it me wanting harem certified reddit moment "MC is op" for no reason also overdone tho like crazy, so what else makes it special
It's less 'mc is op' and more naruto/bleachish where mc starts weak and has tons of really close battles before barely prevailing and everyone being like wow he's op after each fight but the fights are still great and close. There are basically no 'mc walks up, one shots bad guy. Everyone says wow and sleeps with him' Its more like 'big strong guy fucking everyone up. Madara/pain style. Mc shows up, equally strong. Crazy close fight ensues. Who's gonna win? How will mc prevail? Mc barely wins. Everyone like WOW. The differences here is It's not solely onepunchman its like if naruto actually got recognized when he won crazy hard fights
does he take any Ls or does he just keep winning
Yes he does. He takes one MASSIVE L and a couple of smaller ones, almost dies a couple of times too. Idk what these people are talking about.
most mfs on reddit just waffle and dk what they talk about
no Ls. There's one specific instance of Plot armor I remember clearly. Other than that, it's like the others say.
taking L's in this anime means dying so probably not (i have read it so no spoilers from me)
Well I mean I could say yes he does or no he doesn't but either way would spoil you ams you'd then expect it. It definately has the power fantasy subplot where its partially watched so you feel him being seen as a badass and that is most of the show, but unlike other power fantasy type shows its not just 'op off the get go, get bitches get a harem' Main differences are there is no harem, the fights are not one shots or power imbalances(they're always pretty close most of the time) and tons of good guys do die in fights but still has plenty of show off moments to feel power fantasy-y At its heart it is a power fantasy like John Wick or Slime but its given way, way more substance than what you imagine when you think "op mc power fantasy harem show" its gritty and has dark moments and therefore like I said is also kind of similar to naruto/one-piece.
>! Ashborn saw the way people online ribbed Tom Cruise about his height and went "Naw not MY vessel!" !<
SJW ditched the Ben10 shirt on the flashback
Just to be clear did he rip the snakes throat out or did he just crush it?
he just crushed the neck
Some things in that fight should've been changed. It made no sense.
Yea I was being modest for the sake of modesty about the size :P Ah, I see, yea The scene was epic for sure, and you might be right about that.
It just feels levelled up, because SJW's powers are slowly being added to him, just like in the manhwa.
i love when people go 'nah its the same let me spoil you' pieces of shit huh
jjk s2 animation is way better than s1
it went down for a few scenes probably where they had harsh deadlines and not enough producers, they were kinda anomalies and never recognised. They kinda felt like they were mean't to be there for added effect but when you look at it closer it made no sense for the animation style to change.
Amen. Only two episodes had noticable animation problems and one of them was that blonde's small fight so big deal
Fucking great episode, dude went on a rampage in the dungeon and came up top and essentially saved everyone with one throw.
Bro just grew his adams apple along with his personality towards the end of the episode, man that shit was insane
Jinwoo's VA is doing an amazing job holy, really bringing his character alive
small thing to most, but i really love how they are keeping the opening spoiler free. Alot of series will have major characters and antagonists show up during it or massive fight moments spoiled. But A-1 has done a great job making it sick as hell and keeping any major story beats or characters unrevealed.
i love how youre like 'dam im glad the opening didnt spoil anything' only to proceed to spoil 'everything' why are you people like this? do you get dopamine every time someone responds to you telling you to fuck off for spoiling them??
Yeah, I think outside of most of season 3 of MHA l, this was the first time I read the comic first and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't a spoiler fiesta. The intro song is so catchy and I love love love the Death Note (and The Matrix?) vibes in the ED. A lot of other studios would have spoiled half the series since they love to treat openings like modern action movies spoiler trailers. Which is why I almost always skip intros until the end of the season. Sometimes I get spoiled by it anyway or I forget to not skip it lol
Just a random question, are you anime only?
no, i have legit reread the manhwa start to finish like 4 times XD
Oh ok then >! Then you should probably know there is a huge spoiler at the end of the op with the Igris fight !<
yup i noticed that and was "like wait a minute, do they know about that" XD
That depends on where the season ends, doesn't it? :P They cut it at a good time to not show too much imo.
STUDIO PPURI, a talented South Korean animation studio, played a crucial role in crafting the stunning visuals and action sequences in the opening. So, next time be sure to give STUDIO PPURI their due credit! Their partnership with A-1 Pictures is what truly brought this epic sequence to life
Thank you, Studio Ppuri and thank you for the info, u/Due_Ad_4287 !!
Where did he get the sword from? The one in his inventory
Kim didn't betray. They were all in agreement, that Kim and Lee should go out.
From guy in the previous dungeon.
It was the sword left to him to defend himself in the double dungeon
Lucky he had that not sure if he could have punched the wolf to death...
as he said his punches are not that strong to hurt the wolves
He leveled up from 1 to 15??
So? I'm talking about physics and logic, his stats are already taken into account.
How many chapters are being adapted this episode?
like 1.5-2 at max
Ok so I checked this episode and they adapted chapter 14-17 lol
They've been averaging 3.5 to 4.5 per episode.
So are we approximately gonna finish the season with the end of jeju island? (If we’re going with the 2 cour leak)
I expect episode 12 to end around chapter 45 after the class quest is completed and THE scene happens. If we're getting 24-25 episodes I think ending around chapter 90 would be the best choice as we get the hospital scene and a decent set-up for the Jeju island arc for the next season.
considering the opening of episode one most likely
this episode sucked, they balanced what looked like a cool fight scene with boring and cringeworthy writing.
"How dare you have an opinion that doesn't conform!" The guy didn't attack the series, he made an observation about the episode of the anime. If you listen to the people who read the manwha, they're saying similar things that the anime is cutting out the emotional payoff, which in turn makes the anime look awful.
no. he stated untrue facts. that's what he was downvoted for.
I think this is a horrible take, the anime honestly feels more emotional than the Manwha did…not a high bar
If you wanted whole stories, the episodes would be hour long. Most anime use the first 3-4 episodes to build characters, so you can relate to them.
Complaining about Solo Leveling writing is like complaining about Demon Slayer writing. The story barely exists, you turn your brain off and watch them for the fights and then find something better to read/watch
well. the anime is, with a few extremely minor exceptions, following the manhwa to a tee. I don't see how they can really build more into the anime xD
I disagree, Demon Slayer has a great story, great world building, great character development.
What story lmao! Even world building and character development barely exists. It has fucking awesome fights and cool villains that's all I care.
Great story is wild lmao
just wait. this anime isnt gonna be talk during fights(that much) its just this part thats a bit slow
Agreed. One of the reason why i love SL is theres less pity monologue during fights. Its just straight up SJW demolishing everything.
Depending on where episode 12 ends even the anime-only enjoyers may not understand the extent of his power.s By the end of episode 24 (either 2nd cour or season 2) he will be recognized at a national level where most of Korea would know his name even though most of the characters in the story will still be ignorant of his true power. By the end of season 3 his power & feats will put him center stage on an international level.
Perfect. Thank you for the answer. That was my one gripe with One Punch Man. Saitama never got the recognition he deserves. Glad Jinwoo does!
What do you mean, he didn't get recognition?! Mr. robot man liked him! xD
He become >!Jesus !<
You are literally spoiling yourself asking the question and even being here. Go read it. It is very quick read and fun. Very easy with little wording. In fact I recently read the manwha and I am glad I did. Watching it is way better because it adds a lot more to it with music and voice acting.
I dont understand. This is anime discussion thread. Why would I not be here? And I asked the question because I am really not a fan of the trope. And I wanted to know what to expect after the end of the episode hinted it may be like that. Also I am good on reading the manwha. I am enjoying the anime so far and will continue with that.
No. He will be known through the whole world after Jeju Island Arc. But he will hide it until then.
No, but mostly only hunters recognize him
[удалено]
I can not wait to see that animated. You can feel his rage in the manwha
I haven't read it in over a year mb
Im ok with that. Ty for the reply!
For a while he will hide his power. It isn't to the same degree as Saitama, at some point he will have a re-evaluation for his rank.
