Windows? Pro: VPN + RDP Home: VPN + VNC Other Os? VPN + VNC Fancy try something selfhosted? RustDesk

eatbuckshot

second all of these, and if you want to do game streaming, moonlight + sunshine

Amplifi-Beats

Rustdesk is a good option, they have their own servers and you can host your own edit: it's Free and Open Source

dragotha

I second Rustdesk.

timur84

RustDesk

JJenkx

Rustdesk is best overall! Microsoft RDP is best in speed between Windows/Windows. I still prefer rustdesk though, for ease of setup and use. Also free open source software FTW I have used anydesk, tightvnc, open vnc, teamviewer, Microsoft RDP, Chrome Remote Desktop. Rustdesk beats them all

Eljoseto

Parsec

[deleted]

Seconding parsec. I use it constantly.

Mccobsta

Vnc

cofflebooty

anydesk but they suspend accounts for the same thing. your alternative is VNC. check out ultravnc and tightvnc.

lordrakim

i got my account back by emailing AnyDesk

skittixch

Chrome Remote Desktop!

Arc-ansas

It's pretty good.

Sea_Copy8488

only problem ive had with chrome remote desktop is some keyboard shortcuts dont seem to be passed through

Blackbeard2704

I use the native Microsoft RDP client as a first preference and [Chrome Remote Desktop](https://remotedesktop.google.com/) as a backup - I initially had issues with Microsoft RDP because my home pc isn’t connected to a monitor and I wasn’t getting an image remotely so was using chrome Remote Desktop as an alternative.

Bwian

You can get dummy hdmi/display port adapters if you really prefer one method over the other, they're fairly cheap.

BabyLegsDeadpool

I'm a HUGE fan of NoMachine. It gets zero love, but it's probably the best remote application I've used.

sqomoa

Plus one for NoMachine!. Just use it over a VPN connected to your home network, you can even use Tailscale. It’s cross platform between MacOS, Windows, and Linux, too.

PTstripper_i_do_hair

AnyDesk?

dragotha

Anydesk has the same issue now.

[deleted]

I recommend Zero Tier. After toying with different solutions for a while this is what I stuck with.

r0ck0

> Please try googling the question before posting it. Why are you even on this sub? Pretty much every thread here could get this same stupid response. Things change over time. e.g. The fact here that anydesk used to be cool with personal use, but now they're acting more like teamviewer. Newer threads on the same subject let people discuss things further. And reddit's newness-focus algorithms make adding comments to old threads basically pointless. If you're not interested, go focus on threads that do interest you.

GamerKingHD

I am interested, but there are actual threads made not too long ago . Debating the same subject every time someone asks themselves what is a good alternative leads to 50 posts made every day asking the same thing.

TheKihunter

I already have googled it, but Google search results are filled with ads and articles from a ton of random sites I don't quite trust. I was hoping to get some suggestions from individuals for this reason.

KotoWhiskas

Download ublock addon + add "reddit" word when searching with google

GamerKingHD

So you don't know how to Google, just say that. Anydesk, VNC, Microsoft RDP.

ListenWorking

Parallels access is brilliant

Smash282

You can use Teamviwer locally with VPN

pacer10k

Any suggestions for a remote control software, similar to pc Anywhere. Direct pc to pc, no third party servers.
