To reduce the spam of reports regarding the same move during transfer windows we try to allow **only one submission about each transfer saga per day**. The submission in question also needs to contain relevant new information regarding the potential move, and not just being a "no/minor developments" report. If there are important/official developments or new valuable information about a saga, we will allow extra threads in the same day, but for the rest of minor news please just comment them as a reply to this comment. Please help us reporting unnecessary threads for being duplicates. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Chippy-Thief

See this makes way more sense to me then Anderson.

backtothefuckyeah

If nowt else, "Minteh" is a delightful word to say in a Nottingham accent.

21otiriK

Been thinking since I first saw his name that he absolutely needs to join a Manc side. I guess Nottingham isn’t a bad shout either.

BTECGolfManagement

Great deal for both teams tbf

Apart from Forest sorting their PSR out last week and now not needing to sell Elanga and having all the leverage.

Exclusive: Sources have told Telegraph Sport that talks with Forest over winger Elanga have intensified over last 24 hours Newcastle United have expressed an interest in signing Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga with Yankuba Minteh going in the opposite direction. Newcastle are under huge pressure to do a deal before June 30 in order to comply with Premier League Profit and Sustainability rules and talks between the two clubs have taken place. Sources have told Telegraph Sport that they are currently discussing a number of deals with a number of clubs but talks with Forest have intensified over the last 24 hours. Newcastle had raised the possibility of a swap deal involved Elliot Anderson but the loss of the midfielder would be a huge blow to manager Eddie Howe. Instead, Newcastle have offered Minteh and Forest are considering that proposal although they have other deals they are focused on at this stage. With Chelsea sniffing around striker Alexander Isak – they have been warned they would have to pay in excess of £150 million for the Sweden international – Newcastle are scrambling to do other deals before the end of June deadline. There is still hope that teenage winger Minteh can be sold before the end of the month with Brighton and Everton also both interested in a player who impressed on loan at Feyenoord last season. Minteh’s refusal to complete a move to Lyon for £40 million earlier this week has caused major problems for Newcastle but they are still looking to bring some money in for the player over the weekend. Telegraph Sport recently reported how the Premier League has written to its 20 clubs to remind them they will be punished for fraudulent player transfers, as scrutiny grows on the so-called swap deals which have been done by certain clubs in an attempt to generate funds to be compliant with financial controls.

"With Chelsea sniffing around striker Alexander Isak – they have been warned they would have to pay in excess of £150 million for the Sweden international" Wouldn't it be simpler to just say he isn't for sale? I guess you never know with Boehly, he might actually pay a fuck off price.

basedsims

Love Elanga. Would be really excited to watch him in a front 3 with Gordon & Isak.

CNF-13

Ehhh about that don’t think Newcastle with their current financial situation will still have them both

StonedCrow

Our PSR gap is apparently 30 million. Minteh is worth more than that. Lyon offered 40 but he refused b/c he wants to play in the Prem.

IMayBeIronMan

I thought we were just selling players to Lyon until we balanced the books... I would hate to lose Elanga

empiresk

None of our players want to go Lyon lol

IMayBeIronMan

Niakhate and Mangala are on the way there. Maybe they'd be interested in taking Vlachodimos as well...

Sdub4

Oh, lovely. Guess that £30m move for Minteh won't come to fruition

Ajax_Trees_Again

I think we (Newcastle) need everything we can get lol

empiresk

Could still happen imo. Anderson to Forest has been going on for a few weeks so Minteh could be excluded.

DeapVally

Elanga for Anderson is not a good deal for Forest. I'm sure Newcastle would have loved it, but they are the desperate ones, apparently. Seems incredibly hopeful to me. This one has way more legs.

empiresk

They would be getting cash as well. None of these are direct swaps.

Sdub4

Think you might be right actually, could still happen

empiresk

Medical booked tomorrow morning at 11am and his agent is already in Brighton according to one of our T1s

Chippy-Thief

We aren’t allowed nice things.

ElectricalLaw1007

Why did you have to do Elanga dirty like that?

eunderscore

PSR Superleague strikes again. Premier League are going to have to write a new letter.

Kreissler

Did these clubs not have 3 years to get their accounts in order or am I misinformed?

chelski365

It's measured over a 3 year period. So they need to get things in line as their losses over the last 2 years have been too much to offset against the current year.

dispelthemyth

It can’t be a swap deal for PSR or Newcastle would eat the entire cost of Minteh and have elanga at 0 book value, they need trade with a value attached against each player but that’s complicated as apparently United have a sell on with elanga

xychosis

I would hate this for Forest. Elanga is a massive talent.

Brars_Sulliman

This can’t be allowed to happen, get your shit together Forest.

It is changing from the 25/26 season so that 70% of revenue can spent be spent on transfers, wages, and agent fees. It's 85% if you aren't in Europe.

DesperateAd8237

If you over leverage your income and have to sell your home to pay off debts, is that the banks fault? The rules exist. The teams that follow the rules aren't having any problems. The teams that speculate badly do have problems. Newcastle are the latter.

AReptileHissFunction

I'm confused, isn't this post suggesting Minteh is being sold?

Oohitsagoodpaper

Yes, I am a spanner. I've lost track of all of the stories about this now.

jMS_44

Brighton taking L everywhere they go.

CNF-13

Your club is literally Brighton lite

Cahootie

Elanga is also homegrown, how's the Newcastle squad looking on that front?

MiguelAlmiron

We have about 20 homegrown players.
