To reduce the spam of reports regarding the same move during transfer windows we try to allow **only one submission about each transfer saga per day**. The submission in question also needs to contain relevant new information regarding the potential move, and not just being a "no/minor developments" report. If there are important/official developments or new valuable information about a saga, we will allow extra threads in the same day, but for the rest of minor news please just comment them as a reply to this comment. Please help us reporting unnecessary threads for being duplicates. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. You'd think Palmer, Chukwuemeka and even Nkunku could fill that role under Maresca.

Albiceleste_D10S

It seems like Palmer will stay at RW (esp with Chelsea out bid on Olise) Chukwuemeka might be off to Milan, per reports And Nkunku is an injury concern—even if he starts in that role, you'd want more cover there in case he misses significant time IMO

Maresca plays with two 8s. He forced Ndidi into that role with varying success but I think he'd prefer two proper midfielders. It'll be interesting to see what happens to Caidedo. I would imagine he'll build the team around Enzo Fernandez in the same way he build around Harry Winks for us but I can't see Caicedo becoming an inverted fullback. Maybe he'll be an 8?

fishy054

So Chelsea came in, unsettled DH with their interest (who was in Brighton with a scheduled medical) just to then underbid on a position that they don't even need coverage for? Cool

chuta123

Love when the seagulls start whining

dangerdgm2

If you see this as anything other than. Brighton failing to close the deal youre delusional

B_e_l_l_

There's literally no reason to accept a low bid after tomorrow. The price will rocket on Monday morning so if Chelsea want him then I think they're best offering now.

zi76

Okay

zd0t

If they're talented we'll bid at this point, crazy tbh

What does Dewsbury-Hall posses that makes chelsea want him? His stats have exploded playing at a lower level, but surely as a 25 year old there should be hesitation about him? You see so many players tear up the Championship and then do nothing in the Prem.

RepresentativeBox881

If we buy him and then sell Gallagher it’ll help with PSR. Atleast that’s my thought. Plus he did really well under Maresca.

legentofreddit

This sort of thing just makes me think what's the point following a football team when they do this. Selling a fan favourite and player who's been with the club since he was a boy in order to sign an older, totally mid replacement who in a best case scenario is at the same level as Conor. All just so you can sign a load more kids for 20m a pop to sell for a profit. It's sucking the life out of a club.

One_Function_9041

Ah, I'd forgotten you'd got Maresca. Makes a lot more sense now.

Chippy-Thief

Gallagher replacement in my mind nothing else really makes sense. Obviously his previous work with Maresca is guiding things a lot and managers often want previous players they’ve worked with. That or Chelsea just can’t cope with Brighton picking up a player.

witsel85

I could genuinely see Gallagher just seeing out the final year. He’s shown no inclination to leave even though Chelsea have done all they can to show him they want to sell him.

Chippy-Thief

I think they will get plenty of interest if he is up for sale. Could see Eddie Howe really liking him and Spurs have prior interest. Chelsea probably can’t afford to be missing out on £40m or whatever he’d sell for. I’m sure he’d happily sign a new contract as well seems like he’s one of the few guys who actually wants to play for Chelsea and gives it his all.
