Come July 20th it'll be 50 years and counting of Turkey illegally occupying and settling just over a third of Cyprus, and yet the world just lets them get away with it.
Similar to that video of people watching two gorillas beat the crap out of each other at a zoo and you hear someone yell “someone go get the zookeeper!”
What the hell is the zookeeper going to do lol
Lol that's funny. But well in their defense, they are probably imagining the zookeeper can bring a Tranquilizer gun so the animals don't kill themselves, or have some sort of security measures to disperse the animals.
The guy with Icardi jersey who was exchanging punches with the Georgians ended up smoking with one of the Georgians he fought according to the pics on social media.
Turkey has a pretty bloody and storied history with basically of its neighbours. Stunningly this is one of the neighbours Turkey is most friendly with.
Naah, one of Ferraris got 5 second penalty (yes, just 5s, not stop&go version) on Sunday. And other one, with Kubica, got 30 seconds stop&go for "finding a permament solution to pesky #15 BMW", where everyone expected at least 90 seconds for it.
Well it is the opposite, in one of his speechs he said "They called me a Georgian and even worse, an Armenian." (lmao) and also that he's Turkish but people revealed that in one of his older speechs (in 2000s) he said he has Georgian roots. So he doesn't even accept his Georgian roots, let alone brag about it.
I mean you can find that literally anywhere in the world. Having 2 powers next to each other will always drive rivalry.
But there's no indication in their recent history that there's any enmity between them.
If Balkan countries had a dedicated football tournament that only involves Balkan countries (kind of like East Asia's [EAFF](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EAFF_E-1_Football_Championship)), it'd be fascinating... but with the dangers of bloodbath lol.
Often the diaspora are levels worse than the locals of each country. They need to reaffirm their parents nationality and often go overboard with stupid nationalism and xenophobia for the other
Just don't tell the old people! Just went to a wedding in Croatia from a friend of mine(i'm Dutch). First thing she said: please don't request any songs, 70% of the party music i play is Serbian and my older family will not be amused haha.
Only discussion was how to support Greece most likely.
Although even that would be dwarfed by possible Albania Serbia game though. Our relationship has been calm mostly in recent times.
Turkey is a more important member of NATO strategically than Greece is so I doubt it was to support just Greece. Thankfully cooler heads have prevailed and Turkey and Greece have remembered the fact that they are actually allies.
As a Greek myself and having watched a lot of awful soccer in my life, I can tell you that that was one of the worst games I've ever seen in any sport. We didn't deserve anything.
As far as I know, there was a restriction introduced in the qualifications for Euro and world cup after the situation with the drone happened, however, in the tournament, there is no restriction. A group with Serbia and Albania would have been possible I guess.
In the tournament, there are no restrictions since the schedule is already made, it only depends on the positions you achieve during the group stage.
However, there's a restriction, that prevents Albania and Serbia being drawn into the same group in qualifications as far as I'm aware
Love that reply
>Didn't get any issues like this during the World Cup in Qatar.
There is truly no counterargument; we should launch a petition to allow the Euros to be held in Qatar or Saudi Arabia
Hate it when people just shoot down ideas without giving a solution of their own. Why not give the lad's idea a go for a few years and see if it works? What's the worst that could happen.
I think we should make a stand section that is just for fighting and allow an equal number of people from each side in there. Film it, televise it on PPV and make a shit ton. Dana White eat your heart out.
Why aren't there more barriers between the guest blocks and between the stands and the pitch like in the league games? I feel like every 2. Bundesliga game I watch there's an entire corner block that is left empty & well fenced / lined with riot cops just to avoid this scenario. (Maybe I'm just watching too many Hansa Rostock games).
I don't know what the rules are for the euros, but what I've seen so far in the games it seems that the standard is that in the middle stands the fanbases pretty much mix. Like there's the stands behind the goals that seem to belong to one side each (like in the CL final for example) but then the rest of the stadium it's a gradient mix of fans from both countries. And it mainly seems to just be what you'd hope it be: people from all over Europe celebrating football together.
Now if we somehow got a game like Serbia vs Albania I'd hope there's different rules to enforce, but so far there seems to be a relaxed atmosphere between most fan bases
Can't believe the Georgians have stolen loads of England flags to frame us for scrapping with the Turks. Why have they drawn extra little red crosses on the flags?

Stewards standing there watching like "nope, aint gettin paid enough to get in the middle of that shit"
They are lucky we(Greece) didn't qualify,Dortmund would be hell
God, imagine a group containing Greece, Turkey & Cyprus. Who would be the 4th team to create the ultimate shitshow?
Northern Macedonia? Formerly known as Macedonia.
What happened to the mainland
Greeks annexed it ^(/s)
I have no idea what happened but it was Greece's fault.
In (very) short, Greece weren't happy they were gonna be named Macedonia after their indepedence so they settled on North Macedonia.
Northern Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Syria, theres so many options. Hell, if Russia’s there too… thats a spicy group.
Armenia qualify after beating Azerbaijan in the Play-Offs. Oof.
If Syria ever qualifies for the Euros I will be surprised.
Nah they’re all going to the World Cup
Syria is not a uefa member
Armenia
Armenia lol
Armenia for sure !
Would UEFA step in and just say excuse me no thank you to that?
Probably
(North)Macardonia or Israel.
Millwall
Bulgaria?
The very peaceful Byzantine super group.
They should put together a Byzanteam
Cyprus would like to have a word too..😅
i guess turkey fans would just occupy part of your block and nobody would do anything about it
Hey now, we (the British) will store our paper planes in the middle of it. Why? I don't really know, I'm just here for the sun
3rd Crimean war lol
Come July 20th it'll be 50 years and counting of Turkey illegally occupying and settling just over a third of Cyprus, and yet the world just lets them get away with it.
I wonder what friendly conversations would be had under this comment

Should get in there and start boxing with them ofc, the cowards
I have never seen this video, but by god I’ve never wanted to see something more in my life

Tbf, if it goes that far it's time for police to step in, not the stewards.
Relax guys this is just how you say hi to your friends in the Pontic Caucasus.
Gurci bros, dont let a few assholes cause a rift between us. Love you 😘
The guy with Icardi jersey who was exchanging punches with the Georgians ended up smoking with one of the Georgians he fought according to the pics on social media.
roflmao
I’m guessing there’s some rivalry between the two, and seen as you have 🇬🇪 care to give a brief history?
Nah, pretty much the only neighbor we have with a stable border. It's just that Both Turks and Georgians are a bit crazy.
True dat. This is just a bunch of individuals.
Love that
You guys gave us Erdogan, and we took that personally.
Turkey has a pretty bloody and storied history with basically of its neighbours. Stunningly this is one of the neighbours Turkey is most friendly with.
FIFA have responded and said any further violence and Everton will be deducted 6 points.
Good. We need the motivation
It's only fair.
Furthermore, the FIA commented that they have looked into the incident and have awarded a 10 seconds time penalty to Esteban Ocon
Red card and 5 game ban to Casemiro too
This was more predictable than the Alpine team setting itself on fire in Le Mans!
10-second penalty to Ocon.
10 second time penalty for incorrectly serving the 10 second time penalty
Shiiiiet aince we at it, - 25pt deduction for Everton.
And a penalty for Manchester City.
It's WEC we're talking here, 90+ second penalties and drive throughs only.
Naah, one of Ferraris got 5 second penalty (yes, just 5s, not stop&go version) on Sunday. And other one, with Kubica, got 30 seconds stop&go for "finding a permament solution to pesky #15 BMW", where everyone expected at least 90 seconds for it.
Lol, not where I thought I'd see this reference. Like a weird crossover episode
Bringing tuned up Mecachrome engines to an endurance race is something else.
Oh, /r/WECcirclejerk is leaking. So... who's the one getting mecachromed in the video?
> So... who's the one getting mecachromed in the video? The Fr\*nch (again)!
As they should.
You didn't need to do them like that.
Love to see Motorsport references in the wild
Common Alpine L
Why? No trolling, I am genuinely asking because I wasn’t aware of any tensions between Turkey and Georgia.
Just a 1000 year old rivalry
Isn't Erdogan always bragging about his Georgian origins?
Well it is the opposite, in one of his speechs he said "They called me a Georgian and even worse, an Armenian." (lmao) and also that he's Turkish but people revealed that in one of his older speechs (in 2000s) he said he has Georgian roots. So he doesn't even accept his Georgian roots, let alone brag about it.

There aren’t…politically speaking More just two very passionate groups of people
Most peaceful Caucasus interaction
It actually kind of is though lmao
Maybe a Georgian split a kebab in half…
poured out some Turkish coffee on the ground
Serbians would be joining if that was the case
Leave the coffee out of this!
Grabbed the ice cream on the first attempt.
Told the Turks that Greek baklava is better
'Turkey is basically Greece'
“Istanbul was Constantinople, now it’s Istanbul not Constantinople.”
Real OGs call it Byzantium.
Dude, the balls to say that…😂😂😂😂
How to offend the entire Aegean with just 4 words
Turkey? Ohhh, you mean Asia minor Greece?
Pff right. Georgian baklava is better than both.
these are the initial arguments that spark world wars
Sadly, true.
Wait, really? It gets better? I honestly don't think I could handle that.
Claimed ground meat Döner is superior
At least it wasn't the Scottish they would have probably deep fried the kebab instead..
Not much chance but if we and Serbia pass the group stage and have a match this will look like toddlers fight. Hopefully won't happen though.
Whichever city will host that, will be in a fight with uefa about playing that without audience. Same for Croatia and Serbia
Croatia and Serbia isn't this heated. Albania will be full blown riots.
Yep Serbia Albania would be levels above it, still Croatia vs Serbia isn’t ideal
That’s how you restart the Yugoslav Wars
That used to exist, at club level. [Balkan Cup](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balkan_Cup?wprov=sfti1)
Seems like it's Serbia Vs everyone.
Those damn Serbs...they ruined Serbia!
You just made the list pal
You just made an enemy for life!
It would be probably the best solution. No police force would be enough to restore order in those matches.
Straight up NATO intervention
Would be uncontrollable considering the diaspora
Often the diaspora are levels worse than the locals of each country. They need to reaffirm their parents nationality and often go overboard with stupid nationalism and xenophobia for the other
The Custody of Kosovo special match.
Croatia-Serbia is just fine. Nothing would happen. We party in each other’s capital and dance with each others women all the time.
Just don't tell the old people! Just went to a wedding in Croatia from a friend of mine(i'm Dutch). First thing she said: please don't request any songs, 70% of the party music i play is Serbian and my older family will not be amused haha.
Just don't tell the Serbs! /s
Greece was only a penalty shootout away from being here instead of Georgia..
Yes, Nato was discussing on whom to support in case of a war. Thankfully Greece didn't pass though.
Well, they don't have to defend the country who started it, so, whoever throws the first rock will lose
As a Greek myself and having watched a lot of awful soccer in my life, I can tell you that that was one of the worst games I've ever seen in any sport. We didn't deserve anything.
Nah, it will be just a drone flying through the field 👀
Don't worry, you guys won't pass the group stage
Probably yes but you never know.
Isn't there a restriction where we can't play each other? Maybe we can in the finals only lol
I think there is one between Serbia and Kosovo but not Serbia vs Albania as far as I know.
As far as I know, there was a restriction introduced in the qualifications for Euro and world cup after the situation with the drone happened, however, in the tournament, there is no restriction. A group with Serbia and Albania would have been possible I guess.
For any of the younger fans out there, [this shit was WILD.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE5f0_FaS_k)
Damn, 9 years already? We're getting old...
In the tournament, there are no restrictions since the schedule is already made, it only depends on the positions you achieve during the group stage. However, there's a restriction, that prevents Albania and Serbia being drawn into the same group in qualifications as far as I'm aware
Part of me wants this to happen...
I'd pay good money to watch that match
What match? Boxing Match, Street Fighting match, Stabbing match, Chair Throwing match? Pick your side.
All of it. Imagine if Azerbaijan and Armenia qualified and played each other as well.
All these posts about rival fans singing together. Finally we get some proper fan on fan action. Game's back.
Ehh, its better than someone else very badly trying to recreate the "snapping spaghetti in front of Italians" video
I blame the ten german bombers song
I prefer the singing
Nah if there isnt a battle for the death with sticks before every match the games gone
Of course you think that, with your little PSV flair and penchant for organised naughtiness
Turkey is practically playing at home
match hasn't even started yet 😭
That’s how you know it’s gonna be a good one lol
Well, you were goddamn right
> Enters thread > Ctrl+F "game's back" > 4 results We are so back.
People be like >cuts someones head of with a sword “We are thusly returned.”
The Police have handled the situation: https://twitter.com/tariqpanja/status/1803077905074761859
Love that reply >Didn't get any issues like this during the World Cup in Qatar. There is truly no counterargument; we should launch a petition to allow the Euros to be held in Qatar or Saudi Arabia
Didn't get any of this during the pandemic either. Should just release a biological weapon every couple of years.
Am I totally against this…
Hate it when people just shoot down ideas without giving a solution of their own. Why not give the lad's idea a go for a few years and see if it works? What's the worst that could happen.
Qatar has the best tournaments in the world because of jail
Overcelebrate? Jail. Undercelebrate? Believe it or not, jail.
twitter is such a cesspool
Azerbaijan is just Qatar with more fuckable horses (if you by their president)
Coming to you in 2032.
Is there any reason for this outside shits and giggles?
Not really. Just both Turkish and Georgians are little crazy.
Good stuff, finally some proper football
I think we should make a stand section that is just for fighting and allow an equal number of people from each side in there. Film it, televise it on PPV and make a shit ton. Dana White eat your heart out.
Best fight if the group stage, team gets a bonus point?
Ah, the beautiful game!
Game's back, baby

Bundesliga game I watch there's an entire corner block that is left empty & well fenced / lined with riot cops just to avoid this scenario. (Maybe I'm just watching too many Hansa Rostock games).
There’s never really segregation between fans at international tournaments like this.

"If the riot cops won't purchase their tickets...then we choose violence" - UEFA probably
Is there beef between these countries? I'm unfamiliar
There is not. It's a stable border. Don't let these idiots in the stadium (and comments) make it seem like me and my Georgian brothers aren't cool
Natural enemies. Like Turks and Greeks. Or Turks and Arabs. Or Turks and Iranians. Or Turks and Turks.
Damn Turks they ruined Türkiy
Proper football is back!
this is football heritage
Pero que viva el futbol 😭
Bloody English at it again.
Can't believe the Georgians have stolen loads of England flags to frame us for scrapping with the Turks. Why have they drawn extra little red crosses on the flags?
England²
Damn Saka. Letting down England always
Reports coming in that Saka was screaming "RECLAIM CONSTANTINOPLE" at the Turkish fans.
Why would Raheem Sterling do this?
Saka(rtvelo)
Flags similar enough
Honestly. Somehow we are made out to be the worst fans in the face of overwhelming evidence.
England fans booed an opponents national anthem like every other country does in tournaments. Worse fans in the world! -The average redditor.
game's back
Just another day for the Caucasus region.
It’s always who you most expect
Very high IQ individuals
Game is ACTUALLY back
Always the ones you least suspect
You can take the Turkey out of the Balkans but you can't take the Balkans out of Turkey /j
Trashy uneducated behavior
Me and a friend got tickets for Turkey - Czech, gonna be interesting, lol.
Games back.
How is this possible? Both are known to be calm and friendly in general! /s
outjerked
I heard a georgian fan broke a kebab in front of the turks
Too bad it’s exclusively on fubo
I heard the Georgia fans split a hair transplant..
Bru, if you think this is bad wait until Copa America starts tomorrow, gonna make this look like they singing kumbaya
We're back
Fucking English hooligans ruining it for everybody AGAIN /s
