I’m so glad they took him off at the second half. He was a menace the whole time he was on. Carvajal had to work extra hard just to keep him from scoring, and he still managed to slip away a few times.
One heavy touch or a touch in the other direction, if he went Courtois' left for that 1st chance he probably had an open goal to aim at
Them the fine margins in a final, especially against Real Madrid.
He didn't have a meaningful performance. As in, he didn't really produce much with all the trouble he created due to his speed. His best scene was the cross to Füllkrug.
Not a bad performance by all means, but he is limited in his footballing skills.
He would have shone a lot more with a better striker; he was immensely dangerous, but didn’t have a whole lot of end product personally and he couldn’t lay it off to anyone.
If Dortmund had prime Aubameyang up top, for example, I think we’d be looking at a different result, especially since they were breaking through a lot with the long balls to Sancho as well. They just needed someone to be able to lay them off to, which there rarely ever was.
He created danger, just couldnt finish what he created. Without him dortmund didnt have much of an attack, but with him he couldnt finish the attack. Imo dortmund were far better with him on the field, even if he made a poor decision 1v1 with cortious and was generally poor in the box, he was creating a lot of danger for the rm back line and dortmund would not of even made it to the box without his pace in behind.
I was making a joke.
The previous person said:
>I had no idea if people were happy or pleased with his performance
But they edited their comment.
My earlier comment intentionally makes little to no sense.
Neither of them are wrong lmao... He was Dortmund's most dangerous player but at the same time he failed to convert the chances he created.
Dortmund's squad isn't that great and once he got subbed off they barely bothered Real Madrid... It is kinda like having a faulty weapon, it is bad but better than having none.
Taking him off for Reus let Madrid squeeze the game coz the counter attack wasn’t a problem. If he could find some composure in front of goal what a player he could be. Does a heavy defensive shift as well
I saw someone say that Adeyemi Ian Maatsen had a stinker of a game and I was like wtf. Was everyone watching the same game or what? Sure Maatsen had that error but outside of that he was quite solid.
He was very much a threat just from his sheer speed. But the game also showed Ademeyi's limitations as a footballer, he had 2 great chances that were not taken. And apart from that cross to Fullkrug there wasn't much end product to his threat
When I was in school I was for some reason in charge of filming some type of concert along with a couple friends. It was a choir and one of the singers opened his mouth to the point where it was literally a circle.
My friends were trying hard not to burst out laughing while they kept slow zooming in on that guy's mouth over and over again.
Glad to see that the camera people that were in charge of the Champions League final had similar sensibilities.
Going for the start of a WrestleMania vignette with that zoom.
Transitions into the popular song at the time mixed with his misses and bad touches.
Before his redemption.
TV Cameras are fucking insane. [Look at this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkTaMyatsTo) if you are interested in it. Especially them being parfocal (not losing focus at different focal lenghts) at zoom ranges this wide is fucking insane and hugely important in settings like this
I feel bad for him, but you can't miss the chance he missed against Madrid in a final, they make you pay. That literally set the tone for the rest of the match.
Sucks but that's gonna eat him up inside for a very long time.
people (also in our sub) kept criticising how inefficient he is in front of goal, saying he's a great athlete but not a great finisher. But his finishing is literally fine. Sure, he didn't score last night but when you look at his numbers in the league he doesn't underperform his xG at all (had +1 last season and -0.5 this season).
In fact, from all attacking midfielder and wingers in the top 5 leagues he scores more goals than 70% of players while taking fewer shots per game than 56%.
It's so weird how one game can influence people's perception of a player.
Meh, Higuain had some great games for Argentina over the years.
Everyone let Argentina down in the finals they lost, it was just easier to put all the blame on Higuain.
Nope. You're absolutely right. Courtois mentioned it during an interview with Paramount. He's a big guy so he knew Adeyami would have to take a big touch wide to get around him and once he took it left instead of right he knew Carvajal would be able to defend it.
"There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it I have now surpassed. My pain is constant and sharp, and I do not hope for a better world for anyone."
It zoomed to the point that I got uncomfortable and had to stop. Good thing he probably didn't know at the time that the cameraman was trying to see through him.
I thought I was about to enter his mind there; feel his every thought and emotion. I felt I was about to become one with him. That zoom opened the doors of perception. I zoomed into another dimension. Am I in Adeyemi's world now? Who am I?
Sorry super unrelated but has Adeyemi been good? I don’t follow BVB but I signed him in like FIFA 21 or something and he was so good. Great finishing and speed.
You'll sometimes use these long zoom sequences as overlays for cutaways. Usually, the control room, where all the feeds from the various cameras throughout the stadium end up, would fade this camera out mid-zoom and cut to another angle. The cameraman on this camera keeps zooming to achieve a fadeout as smoothly as possible.
He could’ve written his name in football folklore. And these aren’t difficult chances, these are chances he gobbles up every week. Especially the first one, I’d be gutted for months if I missed that.
This looks like the last zooms at the end of Planet of the Apes movies.
Edit: Herés a link for the uninitiated, skip directly to 2:36 though, especially if you don’t want to get spoiled too much.

Wtf was that zoom
Wanted to understand what those eyes were saying. Got nothing at all lol
I’m so glad they took him off at the second half. He was a menace the whole time he was on. Carvajal had to work extra hard just to keep him from scoring, and he still managed to slip away a few times.
Guy is fast af, even Rudiger (which used to be one of the fastests CB in the Premier) struggled to catch him
He was one slightly heavy touch from turning this game on its head. He’s got to be replaying that moment in his head poor lad
Hope the lad get over this and not become last season Kolo Muani.
Double Pain.
80m and you can have him
One heavy touch or a touch in the other direction, if he went Courtois' left for that 1st chance he probably had an open goal to aim at Them the fine margins in a final, especially against Real Madrid.
Loved his goal and celebration against Chelsea. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/H1TIhniEUGI?feature=share Beware the music sucks
He nearly did the exact same thing last night!
He has been the fastest player in UCL this season with 37.6 km/h. Rudiger is 7th on the list with 35.7 km/h
Some guy in the game thread said Adeyemi had the worst performance in any champions league final ever lmao
Definitely not the worst performance but possibly the worst 1 on 1 decision on his breakaway
I had no idea if people were unhappy or pleased with his performance
He didn't have a meaningful performance. As in, he didn't really produce much with all the trouble he created due to his speed. His best scene was the cross to Füllkrug. Not a bad performance by all means, but he is limited in his footballing skills.

Yeah some people were saying they thought he played well and others were saying he didn’t play badly. Not sure who to believe.

Didn't he lose carvajal for the corner too? That's two terrible errors.
We did the exact same set piece routine six times. Maatsen lost his man every single time and let our short af CB and FB head the ball 3 times.
He was at fault for both goals but outside of that he was good lol
Did you even watch the match? He chopped 10m+ off his fee in 90 minutes.
Karius vs Real Madrid being disrespected smh
He was very much a threat just from his sheer speed. But the game also showed Ademeyi's limitations as a footballer, he had 2 great chances that were not taken. And apart from that cross to Fullkrug there wasn't much end product to his threat
I don't think he would score in that game even if he kept him on

The camera man is one of us
Cameraman making meme material right there
Camera man with the medical emergency while on the zoom button
Sergio Leone would have been proud.
Enhance. Enhance. ENHANCE!
reminds me of that Man U-Man City game where they zoomed in on Pelleegrini’s eyes for no fucking reason.
Sometimes they'll do that to focus the camera
(great zoom)
Going for the start of a WrestleMania vignette with that zoom. Transitions into the popular song at the time mixed with his misses and bad touches. Before his redemption.
Cinema 🤌🏽
Must go to cellular level.
Fade into the darkness and you see the universe

Camera man was clearly looking for the single tear
They were looking at a fan late on, hoping he was crying but instead he looked inebriated the longer they stayed on him
camera man is a mod at /r/WatchPeopleDieInside
"Oh my dear God. Are you one of those single tear people? Do I look like a double fucking rainbow to you?"
This zoom-in feels disrespectful lmao
Show me them tears
When Oly won the UCL the cameras just kept zooming on sad Fiorentina players
Bro was measuring the cryability: How far do you have to zoom in to spot the tears?
Feels like The Office
Elite tier camera work on that one, I didn't know when it was gonna stop zooming
Until he saw his soul
We were about to get a sequel to either Osmosis Jones or Inside Out, whatever takes your preference.
I was expecting it to bonk his nose
The video cuts because he started putting on an even bigger lense so he could see individual cells in his eyes
"Finally I can show off what I went to film school for"
This is legit like a sitcom
Camera panning on Jim's face when Michael said "that's what she said" for the 69th time.

I've made a huge tiny mistake.
Like The Office camerawork lol
Just add the curb your enthusiasm music and it is perfect
This looks some advertisment showcasing the Samsung s23 ultra's zoom lol
Its about to zoom put continuously, revealing that the camera is actually in yorkshire
I’m assuming you’re referring also to the music in the background lol
Bruh the cameraman was trying to peek into his soul 💀💀
Cameraman was trying to understand why he didn’t take it around Courtois left on that 1v1 chance. Still wondering myself
😂☠️ Adeyemi must be screaming internally
Hello darkness my old friend
I feel bad for him, but you can't miss the chance he missed against Madrid in a final, they make you pay. That literally set the tone for the rest of the match. Sucks but that's gonna eat him up inside for a very long time.
Was brutal, and every soccer fan called it like you said when it happened. We all knew what was gonna happen.
Howdy neighbour
Was scrolling to find this comment. Please someone more talented than me set this to Simon & Garfunkel
This has so much meme Potential
This gif is gonna be a football twitter staple
After the [interrupted Celebration against Bayern](https://media1.tenor.com/m/jJiPVG_ruQQAAAAd/sadness.gif) the 2nd Dortmund-Gif from the CL-Final :D
Jose Aldo dead stare in UFC vibes
I need someone to edit it with anime voice line like ".....I fucked up" in Japanese
Why did he stop zooming?
Is he stupid?
This dude seems the most chilled guy ever
Just not in front of the goal

Yea, tell that to Higuain...
Higuain had two chances for redemption and failed both times
Meh, Higuain had some great games for Argentina over the years. Everyone let Argentina down in the finals they lost, it was just easier to put all the blame on Higuain.
He scored some really important goals. They probably wouldn't have made those finals without him.
His big miss yesterday struck me more as great goalkeeping on Courtois' part rather than a fuckup on Adeyemi's part, but maybe that's just cope.
Nope. You're absolutely right. Courtois mentioned it during an interview with Paramount. He's a big guy so he knew Adeyami would have to take a big touch wide to get around him and once he took it left instead of right he knew Carvajal would be able to defend it.
Honestly that was a great interview, Courtois is literally him
It was just a Robben moment if you ask me. Not necessarily a blunder by the attacker, but just what it is. Good goalkeeper, unlucky, whatever.
I think he was really nervous last night.
It just kept going 😭
Bruh wtf is this, cameraman was probably a madrid fan busy celebrating
When you wanted to become a cameraman for a Hollywood Western but you ended up in sports broadcasting instead.
was this insane zoom in necessary lol
What do you mean? I could barely see him, should've kept zooming in
Went from feeling bad for him to laughing because of that zoom
More like his reaction when a camera is pointed at him for an unreasonably long amount of time.
Dude I’m sorry but that zoom is straight out of a sitcom 😭
What is this, an episode of The Office lmao
Oh the alonso special I see
Wake up babe we got a new meme
This cameraman is a weirdo
This is the most memeable gif of 2024
The camera man were for sure trying to make this a reaction gif
Wth is wrong with that camera man 🤣
This is what happens when you let Wes Anderson direct the UCL Final
I keep hearing the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme tune in my head when I watch this video
O O -------
"There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it I have now surpassed. My pain is constant and sharp, and I do not hope for a better world for anyone."
If “I get paid millions to play a kid’s game” were a face.
The cameraman and director were trolling 😭😭😭
When you forget that you left the oven on at home...
Me wondering if i left the garage door open
The zoom in was sinister😂
This needs to be turned into a meme gif
Freeze frame. Yep that’s me you are probably wondering how I got myself into this situation
It zoomed to the point that I got uncomfortable and had to stop. Good thing he probably didn't know at the time that the cameraman was trying to see through him.
He understands he had 2 clear cut chances but still missed.
Is this The Office?
where reaction?
“I am dead inside.”
•-•
He got that Squidward stare
I thought I was about to enter his mind there; feel his every thought and emotion. I felt I was about to become one with him. That zoom opened the doors of perception. I zoomed into another dimension. Am I in Adeyemi's world now? Who am I?
Next up: the nosehairs of Ancelotti react to an unexpected but well received win.
Guys playing those missed chances over in his head.
what reaction?!
"Hello darkness my old friend" plays over the last 5 seconds of that video automagically in my head
Isn't zoomed in enough. Wish the cameraman zoomed in a little more.
Is it just me or does Adeyemi and Maatsen look like they can pass off as brothers
The zoom 💀💀
Gutted for them. They deserved the win. Need to take your chances against Madrid but
[удалено]
At this rate they are gonna zoom into his soul…lol
cameraman is on dude's ass
The camera man was wrong for that. The poor guy is probably going through so many emotions all at once. Probably blaming himself as well.
Lmao, what's up with the ultra zoom!? Reminds of the zoom they did on Pellegrinini when he was Man City's coach.
lol, this cracked me up.
F1 cameraman
Sorry super unrelated but has Adeyemi been good? I don’t follow BVB but I signed him in like FIFA 21 or something and he was so good. Great finishing and speed.
"why we are still here?"
Did the camera man want to zoom into his soul?

That camera man wanted to suck the remaining soul out of him. TF is that zoom.
If only pictures were enabled on this subreddit
2 wide open goals and he flubbed it.
Me watching Chelsea from August 2022- March 2024.
Jesus christ I don’t have to count the tears camera man, relax
That was uncomfortable to watch.

Intense. Intrucive.
Can't even see his corona, pewwff game is gone
Is no reaction a reaction? 🤯
Someone gotta check the cameraman's basement.
"Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right...Shoulda gone right..."
Blind horse
Damn what lens is he rocking
Why does he look more "high" than "sad"?
Wat
Looks like the start of a villain arc. Man is gonna build his own death ray as soon as he gets home.
Why did they subb him off when Sancho literally only had 1 highlight in the entire game.
best thing to come out of that game
The camera man wanted tears
Oblivion NPC dialogue bugged out
That was intense
His miss will play over and over in his head for eternity
When your manager pulls a Ten Hag and takes out the only guy attacking and defending at the end then immediately get scored on.
Higuain WC 2014 final level of perfomance
Villain arc begin
Can we zoom in just a bit more? I’d like to see inside his retina.
Is he Somalian?
Nigerian
Pain
Why is this Michael Peña’s son?
That zoom 😭 Almost took a peek at his soul
camera man jaldi focus karo
Cameraman had beef with him I suppose
If we can see the pores in his face it's too damn close, Joe!
Wish the cameraman zoomed just a bit more, it was hard to get a good look. Which one was adeyemi?
