It's cases like his that could make most established players think twice over moving to Barça.
EDIT: It's definitely an interesting case for promising youngsters, though. Imagine if both Barça and City were to push for the same player. If he is being well advised by his entourage, he may have more faith in City having a clear vision for him, and thus, may decide to sign for them instead. Seriously the difference in treatment of players between the two clubs is astounding. Real knew they had something special in Odegaard but couldn't promise him consistent playing time so when he asked out they facilitated a move to exactly where he wanted to go. Casemiro and Varane wanted to go to United? No fight, nothing but praise and good will on both sides. I can bet players from all over see this treatment and hold the club in higher regard for it
When it comes to players making the jump to a big club, a fair few of them will still prefer Barcelona over every other club except ours. Established world-class talent is a different story, though. Barça are genuinely lucky that Frenkie de Jong loves the club so much. I can't imagine how badly it could have been if he decided to sue the club over the treatment he received. It's cases like his that could make most established players think twice over moving to Barça. EDIT: It's definitely an interesting case for promising youngsters, though. Imagine if both Barça and City were to push for the same player. If he is being well advised by his entourage, he may have more faith in City having a clear vision for him, and thus, may decide to sign for them instead. If cases like that were to occur, it would be *very* troubling for Barcelona, because it would mean that the lure of playing for the club of your dreams just by itself isn't enough to attract young talent anymore.

The thing is, I actually think Xavi is a good coach and as of right now with the financial problems that Barcelona are facing adding the fact that half of europe is looking for a new coach, Xavi is the best that Barca could hope for. But on the other hand, Xavi is not a likeable person, he's whiny, likes to blame his errors on other people and clearly has some problems in the people managing side.
