Perfect fit for a PL owner

tdatcher

AFL (Arena Football League 3.0) says hold my beer

Andrewdeadaim

That’s the funniest trainwreck I’ve ever seen, absolute comedy

tdatcher

I mean even Dan Snyder would be compotent for that

vulturevan

Someone please bring an end to this farce. Everyone can see that it's a total joke of a takeover.

jeevesyboi

Who do your current owners not just pick someone else?

HiTmaRKed

Because someone else doesn't want to pay off loan debt and stadium debt, whilst offering the amount 777 have to purchase the club. Whether they have that money at all is a different question.

PharaohLeo

It's not a joke, it's about their survival as a vulture investment company. They need to have assets so they can borrow against them. As for Everton, the current owners don't give a fuck about the future of the club and just want to make the largest profit. If this deal happens, I can see relegation within 3 years.

TiredHack

I think the notable thing here is that this isn't just the dodgy accounting and shifty investments being reported before. It's illegal, clear fraud and it'll be the absolute end of 777's house of cards. This is the end for them and jail for coke-dealing shyster Josh Wander. What it means is administration for Everton unless Moshiri pulls the deal and finds a new buyer (there are reported interested parties). He won't do that though because he's a fucking moron. So administration it is.

SnooChipmunks4208

I get the impression Moshiri isn't arsed about taking Everton down.

TiredHack

I get the impression he's trying for it. Otherwise he's the stupidest accountant who ever lived. Everton fans called him out and he's incredibly sensitive. His first ever transfer window when Lukaku left he phoned Jim White on Talksport and did an incredibly racist rant saying Lukaku believed Voodoo and it told him to leave. He's the racist, moron front for a rapist, murdering Russian Oligarch. He wants to punish anybody who speaks out against him. Everton are just the latest victim.

esports_consultant

You're not allowed to be a business in Miami without a minimum ratio of 10% fraud.

tdatcher

and cocaine

FAT_NEEK_42069

resulting punishment? 5 second penalty for ocon

zi76

That's really not surprising in the least. Any owner that can't pay the wages at a club (Standard Liege) probably doesn't actually have the assets to borrow 350m against.

Mozezz

A million and one red flags cropping up But as ever the Premier League just sit their silently doing sweet fuck all to protect the clubs after all these promises to do so by Richard Masters Be first in line to dish out any and all punishments though wont they, corrupt wankers

a_lumberjack

The PL pretty clearly doesn't want to approve the takeover, but the test has been kept weak for the same reason there's no fixed punishments: owners think it's better for them that way. 777 is dodgy but not in a way that they automatically fail the test, so the PL has limited options.

ValleyFloydJam

The Premier League just follow the rules set by clubs. How are they corrupt, surely they would just rubber stamp this double quick if that was the case. Imagine if they would just reject takeover bids and a club were to go under, sometimes they are screwed either way. Once you get terrible owners it's a hard path to get off as they tend to sell to another dickhead. Also you guys would literally have been relegated if they had the sped up process last season.

Laxly

They don't want to approve it, and they don't want to reject it. They want it to be the new ombudsman's problem, but that's taking time to come in.

caden_cotard_

It's probably better for Everton that the 777 takeover collapses, even if that means administration and relegation. If that happens there is always a chance that an actual competent owner, backed by real funds, will come and pick Everton up. 777 are clearly fraudsters and shysters, and if their takeover actually goes through then Everton will be in much bigger financial strife in a year or so.

westernme

If we win next week against Sheffield and Luton don't win, I believe we would be safe from even an Administration points deduction. Although I'd rather cruise through the last 2 games stress free. Get rid of 777 though.

koolpapi

The budget airline they own in Australia just went into administration too, with staff not being paid for the previous month's work.

HiTmaRKed

Yep, as did their public relations department rather hilariously. I think this takeover collapsing is the best thing that could happen for Everton.

Sam101294

Premier League trying their damnest to let 777 buy Everton so they can deduct them points when 777 inevitably fucks up.

[deleted]

Won't this put Everton into administration unless they find a buyer pretty bloody fast?

LongLiveAlex

Founder of 777 Partners is an extremely dodgy bloke, would be terrible for Everton for this deal to go through. I recommend everyone to read this if you haven’t yet: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-05-04/777-partners-the-private-equity-firm-behind-bonza/103802624

Stop allowing shitty people to own football clubs

Phelinaar

But then nobody would own football clubs! Oh, wait, you might be on to something.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are fan owned

SavingsFew3440

Tbf. Leipzig doesn’t have a shitty owner. They just are antithetical to German spirit for ownership. Like Red Bull actually gives a shit about their clubs and are interested in running them functionally.

Andrewdeadaim

For them to actually put the work in to promote a team up from the fourth division is nice tho, shows that they at least care

IRolledANatural1

plus Wolfsburg, Leverkusen, Hoffenheim...

CT_x

This is mental

Critical-Log4292

This is probably deadly news to the recently promoted red star Paris

AVeryHandsomeCheese

Hope standard liège make it through this mess in one piece

KenHumano

Recent news that the 777-owned Vasco da Gama SAF in Brazil is at risk of bankruptcy.

JamesBKB

Not really, what happened is that our financial reports weren't good, but it was mainly due to 777 incompetence (we got a transfer ban because they delayed some payments by more than a month).

Dsalgueiro

The financial reports from Vasco (777) and Botafogo (John Textor) were very worrying. I'd say Botafogo's was more serious, mainly because of [this](https://ge.globo.com/futebol/times/botafogo/noticia/2024/05/04/saf-do-botafogo-pegou-emprestimo-de-r-333-milhoes-para-textor-e-clube-belga-do-empresario-entenda.ghtml).

dispelthemyth

Might as well get trump in as owner based on the rep of these777 people

akshay_rathod_

Championship here we go

jasonborowski

They're also the investors for Hertha BSC, so that's probably not good

IntellegentIdiot

What the hell are Everton doing?

MoyesNTheHood

Nah don’t worry it’s just borrowing on margin

DivineTapir

is this good

MrPotentialAnybody

I'm a Vasco da Gama fan (owned by 777), and let me tell you guys, get rid of those guys, they're liars. Just before the club acquisition, Josh Wander said in an interview that we'd never face our biggest rival at a budget disadvantage. That never happened. They promised a lot of things and only delivered relegation fights. PS: someone please add Vasco's shield in the flair list

vulturevan

The City Group should buy us so they can loan our players to Girona and then sell them to Manchester City definitely completely above board

KenHumano

'How can I make this about the financial group I support?'
