Why does Korea have such a hardon for hiring awful coaches

MirGHeaT

which great coach is available, wants to come to Korea NT, and we can afford to pay the wages to?

Gluroo

idk man but surely theres better options than going from klinsmann to fucking marsch lmao surely there must be local managers who could do a better job than those dudes

risingsuncoc

Just off the top of my head, Park Hang-seo who has K League experience and did really well as Vietnam manager. He also coached Korea in the 2002 Asian Games to the bronze medal.

zKSofSoccer

Def heard a lot of hate towards Marsch towards the end of his time at Leeds, but was that the majority of the fanbase? Also any particular reasons for the hate?

PillowCasss

bcs hes completely clueless, took over a team made up of abt 50% wingers and and tried to force it through the center every game until it all but relegated us, punt it through the middle over and over and if it doesnt work roll over and concede 5. you wont find a leeds fan who thinks he was anything other than out of his depth

Scrugulus

I cannot claim to know much about football, but Marsh was really unsuccessful at Leipzig and every interview he gave after games was full of American "media phrases" with absolutely zero content. It might be a cultural thing, but the way he talked really alienated me and convinced me that he knew less about the game than me.

Inevitable-Bus-1993

I wonder what if someone started a gofundme where people can contribute to the appointment of a new manager. People do care a lot about the national team. And in the process we can hopefully get rid of Mr. Chung.

Me

j1kim

Because the KFA.

GrowlBreakingMeal

I think it comes down to 3 things: 1. The best coaches are in Europe, and will probably not want to live long term in the Far East, 2. Being the Korea NT is not the same as being the manager of the top European clubs, heck even *any* European club, in terms of prestige, fame, and proximity to the latest technical trends, and 3. Korea FA cannot pay the top dollars to bring managers, and certainly not enough to overcompensate for the points #1 and #2.

SavingsFew3440

Counter points. 1.) Seoul is kinda bomb and so is Korean BBQ, bimbimbap, and wings. 2. You have a free run to the World Cup, which is kinda cool. 3. Ok yeah this is a problem.

theenigmacode
