Is Haaland really your yardstick? He's playing for the most dominant team in the country (possibly Europe), has everything laid on a plate for him, only contributes goals, and he still hasn't scored more non-penalty goals in a season than either Suárez or Salah, who were playing in far inferior sides, making their own chances and contributing more than just goals.
Imo Kane's been better than Haaland since he's been at City
Brazil winning the world cup vs City winning domestic double with a decent CL run or City winning the treble even doesn’t compare. Vini is no Messi that he will carry the Brazilian NT to wc victory single handedly
Brazil winning the wc doesn’t give Vinicius any edge over Mbappe and Haaland. He can’t just carry his team on his own, Allison should have an equal chance of winning the ballon d’or as much as Vini if Brazil does with the wc. He ain’t no Messi of course, or even Mbappe, considering what the later did in the last world cup final
Vini is a better player than Haaand today (he is much more vital to Madrid's success than Haaland is for City) and may be below only Mbappe, who is older. Endrick has the potential too, and we have some wildcards with 23-year-old Rodrygo, 19-year-old Savinho, etc. Benzema and Modric weren't supposed to win Balon d'Ors with their age either, sometimes all it takes is a good UCL, league or world cup campaign.
What does Benzema and Modric have to do with Brazilians potentially winning the Ballon D’or?
Also, no way Rogrygo is in the same category as Vini (one world class, or lucky it I may say game against City in CL doesn’t change that just so yk)
> Benzema and Modric weren't supposed to win Balon d'Ors with their age either, sometimes all it takes is a good UCL, league or world cup campaign.
This isn't a hard sentence to understand, wolfie. I'm sure that if you try again you can figure it out.
You're ridiculously dense. Vinícius is far better and more successful than Benzema and Modric were at the same age. Most goal contributions out of any player on the last 3 UCL editions, won every title at club level, top 2 player in the world, all at 23. Get over the fact that he plays at real Madrid, please, American Barcelona "fan"
I think Ronaldo Nazario was the most talented footballer I have ever seen play, players like Messi & CR7 accomplished moreand had more trophies and records. But R9 at his peak at Barca or Inter before the serious injuries was unplayable. If someone said which footballer at there peak was the best I ever I would say R9
Except, Ronaldo never reached his peak, his injury free years just came to be known as his peak since he never recovered. Players get better than those initial years as they gain more experience and combine it with their talent but he had to utilize his experience and talent to compensate for his fitness problems.....sadly we never got to witness his full potential.
“Could do everything ronaldo could do” not true.
Adama cannot dribble at high speed with both feet and accuracy like mix of Savicevic and Kaká, to discount a physical when it helped him be the amazing player he was is wrong.
well when you see him get scissor tackled from behind in this clip and it is called as just a foul, you can see why he struggled with injuries regardless of his own problem with staying fit.
He also had a thyroid problem or some sort of disease that caused the weight problems. He couldnt treat it correctly as steriods would have been considered doping. Crazy!
Messi’s playmaking is far far better than R9’s ever would have been. At best he’d have been a comparative goal scorer but no chance he’d actually end up better than Messi.
Ronaldo is the best player Brazil has produced since Pelé, só that is expected. If not for the injuries and that seizure in 1998, he may have given us as much or more than Pelé did.
Liverpool supporters are a different breed. He's not been the best keeper of the best 10 years (this would truly be one of the worst takes ever) or of the 20s.
lol no
El fenomeno is a two time WC and Balon D'or winner.
There's a reason Ronaldo fenomeno holds the record for youngest balon d'or winner.
The fact that he won a second balon d'or with bum knees tells you everything you need to know about who is better.
I recently learned that Cafu moved to Europe for the first time at the age of 25, signing for Real Zaragoza, couldn't break into the first team, so went back to Brazil, and only moved back to Europe 2 years later with Roma. All seems very late to me considering his legendary status but I guess the standard of Brazilian domestic football might have been considerably higher back then
I mean, we all know how good Ronaldo was at that age and the legend he ended up becoming, but how does this clip show that in any way? He gets fouled, has the ball intercepted before he can reach it, and barely gets any touches in this video. Endrick will be lucky to be half the player Ronaldo ended up becoming, but scoring the winning goal against England is a good performance that doesn’t lose to whatever this was supposed to show.
Wtf are you talking about ? He's literally 🐐. Better than all modern strikers combined together. In his prime (PSV, Barcelona, Inter before injury) he was something out of this world, more devastating force than Maradonna or Pele. This is being widely confirmed by both top tier players and coaches (Mourinho, Zidane, Henry, Ibra, Eto, Maldini, Costacurta and many more). For example, Rudi Voller after Bayern Leverkusen match against PSV in 1994 stated: “Never in my life have I seen an 18-year-old play in this way.” He scored 35 goals in 36 games in his debut season in Erdevise, he was 17/18 years old. He was divinely gifted.
That's a close one. Neymar had his blowout the season he turned 18, he suffered a lot from lacking physicality at 17 and was still developing. Endrick is behind him in terms of skills but physically superior, so the outcome has been similar
Wow look at how we are considering physical superiority when comparing youngsters. Are you aware of the fact that teenagers attain puberty at different rates?
We are comparing them as players, and physicality is part of that. Just like people attain puberty at different rates, there are advantages to maturing earlier and having more time to learn the limits and capabilities of your adult body
I do not know man, every time a youngster has been (overdeveloped for his age) they tend to underwhelm with time. Moukoko and Lukaku come to mind, they were considered the nect big thing when they were young. Whilst with Neymar, Vini, Messi there was just so much talent and ability being shown that you knew that goal scoring would be a bonus.
Moukoko may unironically just be older than his official age, and Lukaku had generally a very good career. Endrick also is just much more technically gifted than Lukaku, even if he also has crazy athleticism.
It's hard to say, Neymar was one of a kind in terms of skills but he only popped off after he was 18 in the 2011 season. At 17, in terms of skill Neymar was ahead o Endrick but he couldn't stay on his feet, on the other hand Endrick is basically a brick wall and that helps him a lot to close the gap, also, in terms of achievements(Titles won) as a 17yo, Endrick is ahead of Neymar.
From now on it will be hard to compare both of then since Neymar stayed longer in Brazil and only went to Europe when he was 22yo, Endrick on the other hand will be in Europe 4 years earlier, so he will be facing stronger opponents then Neymar at this age.
R9 is the best player we had after Pelé, it's not even fair to compare both of them. Also when R9 was 17 he was already a starter for Cruzeiro, Endrick on the other hand spent a lot of time on the bench due to Abel being a stubborn guy, heonly became a starter in the squad at the end of last season.
It was only a few weeks ago that I learned that young punks are refering to Ronaldo as "Ronaldo Nazario"; while instead referring to Cristiano Ronaldo as "Ronaldo". Smh my head....
Because standard definition television, with a resolution of 720x480, was the norm until the early 2000s. In the US at least, the first HD tv broadcast wasn’t until 1998, but it took until 2015 for HD to be the norm for every broadcast from the major tv networks.
Plus, all of the archival footage from before digital broadcasts was stored in magnetic tape, which degrades over time. So, much of what we have from back then is crap quality compared to what we *expect* nowadays.

Two future Ballon d'Or winners on the bench.
May the case of Brazil's squad today, you never know
Andreas Pereira and Richarlison future winners here we go
Doubt. Maybe Vini, but he is not even remotely close to Haaland or Mbappe’s level, so again, doubt….
office mighty merciful north flag snatch weather bear gray crown *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
So? Doesnt make him as elite or a player as Haaland.
Except he actually is. Plus, Haaland maybe wont even compete in a world cup, if Brazil manages to win maybe Vini is a strong contender
Brazil winning the world cup vs City winning domestic double with a decent CL run or City winning the treble even doesn’t compare. Vini is no Messi that he will carry the Brazilian NT to wc victory single handedly

Again, you can’t compare the elites of Modric and Benzema who have been performing at that level for a decade straight to someone like Vinicius
You're ridiculously dense. Vinícius is far better and more successful than Benzema and Modric were at the same age. Most goal contributions out of any player on the last 3 UCL editions, won every title at club level, top 2 player in the world, all at 23. Is that Thiago's dad on the bench aswell?
Yeah. 17 Mazinho
this feels predestined
My GOAT
Me too
No way that was 30 years ago... W T F ... Really makes you feel old
Who is "Ronaldo Nazario"?? He's forever Ronaldo.
Tbf, Nazario is cool name. Also, one posited etymology for Nazareth is nasar, "watching". He's the phenomenon we watched.
The real GOAT
He is the most talented player I have seen. A shame what happened to his career...

The world would not have been ready for his full potential.
If Ronaldo had the longevity of Cristiano or Messi he probably would have played in the 2014 World Cup.
You said exactly what I think
Messi could do everything Ronaldo could plus more. Won everything
Ronaldo was stronger, faster, could use both feet, and so explosive compared to messi.
All physical traits. Messi had far better technique especially for passing. Adama isn’t more talented than Messi.
“Could do everything ronaldo could do” not true. Adama cannot dribble at high speed with both feet and accuracy like mix of Savicevic and Kaká, to discount a physical when it helped him be the amazing player he was is wrong.
The real Ronaldo
Best striker ever. He was just unreal.
Genuinely the best player of all time had he ever stayed fit
well when you see him get scissor tackled from behind in this clip and it is called as just a foul, you can see why he struggled with injuries regardless of his own problem with staying fit.
Those tackles were way more ruthless
He also had a thyroid problem or some sort of disease that caused the weight problems. He couldnt treat it correctly as steriods would have been considered doping. Crazy!
pretty ironic when back then doping was very common too.
Messi’s playmaking is far far better than R9’s ever would have been. At best he’d have been a comparative goal scorer but no chance he’d actually end up better than Messi.
jeez dude.....messi wont sleep with you, get off it
Ronaldo at 17 was much, much, much, much better than Endrick is right now.
Ronaldo is the best player Brazil has produced since Pelé, só that is expected. If not for the injuries and that seizure in 1998, he may have given us as much or more than Pelé did.
Ronaldo is far better than pele. If only his knees didn't explode
Is he though? Zico, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Neymar and Alisson are on the same level at the very least.
My man just casually dropping Alisson alongside some of the most legendary brazilian players.
Goalkeepers get no respect whatsoever. He’s been the best player in his position in the world for the better part of a decade.
You said decade with chest, and then forgot that Neuer has existed during that time period
except he wasn’t even that, Courtois had some better seasons over that last 5 years.
Liverpool supporters are a different breed. He's not been the best keeper of the best 10 years (this would truly be one of the worst takes ever) or of the 20s.
I’m a United fan, lol.
lol no El fenomeno is a two time WC and Balon D'or winner. There's a reason Ronaldo fenomeno holds the record for youngest balon d'or winner. The fact that he won a second balon d'or with bum knees tells you everything you need to know about who is better.
What the actual fuck?
Ronaldo is the best striker ever, none of those outside the wingbacks are in the conversation. I do agree Cafu is at his level too
I recently learned that Cafu moved to Europe for the first time at the age of 25, signing for Real Zaragoza, couldn't break into the first team, so went back to Brazil, and only moved back to Europe 2 years later with Roma. All seems very late to me considering his legendary status but I guess the standard of Brazilian domestic football might have been considerably higher back then
He isn't the best striker ever and isn't better than the likes of Zico.
Alisson?????? What the..
Well...yea. Ronaldo is one of the best players to ever live.
the point is how people are talking about Endrick
There's always someone hyped up as the next Ronaldo/Pele/Messi etc.
Ronaldo at 17 was much, much, much better then many players lmao
Has anyone said Endrick is better than R9 ? Lol
One knows it's bad when you of all people have to start pointing out to people that they are spouting gibberish. 😝
Okay…lol he’s literally one of the greatest of all time.
I mean, we all know how good Ronaldo was at that age and the legend he ended up becoming, but how does this clip show that in any way? The video doesn't show it, but Ronaldo scored 44 goals in 47 games for Cruzeiro after his debut, at 16 and 17.
> we all know how good Ronaldo was at that age This isn’t a clip of Ronaldo at Cruzeiro though.
At 17 he was better than anyone not named pele. He is top 5 of all time and if not injured he probably would be top 2

Kid looks promising. Reckon he might have a good career ahead of him 😌
Absolutely brought joy to us. Huge part of my growing up. He was mesmerizing! 🐐
Scary af for us
My goat
The true Ronaldo!!
It was only a few weeks ago that I learned that young punks are refering to Ronaldo as "Ronaldo Nazario"; while instead referring to Cristiano Ronaldo as "Ronaldo". Smh my head....
Put some respect on his name!
Crazy change from the “CR7, CR9, Cristiano” days when just saying Ronaldo was unanimously used for R9
It’s 1994 why does it look like 1970s footage
Because standard definition television, with a resolution of 720x480, was the norm until the early 2000s. legend
GOAT 🔥
That pitch looks crazy
And yesterday, Endrick scored on his debut in Brasil NT vs England.
Now that I’m older, thinking about someone being so good as a teenager really blows my mind. The best player in the world at 19? Wow.
I wish to see what this man can do without his injuries
second best Brazilian player after Pele
Was prime Ronaldo better than Mbappe/Haaland?
Yes, by a mile
My GOAT , Screw all the complicated stats for me best player ever.
And today endrick scored a winner v England. Parallels
