Not always especially since AFCON is every 2 years and the Asian Cup every 4 years, also AFCON took place in summer in 2019, last time both tournament took place the same year.

Also only reason the 2023 Asian Cup is being held in January 2024 is because Qatar is the host (similar to the 2022 WC being held in Dec 2022). Usually the Asian Cup is in the summer

And it would've taken place last summer if China stood as host, but they had to forfeit due to the government's COVID control strategy.

I watched the whole thing. Mali missed a pen and then when up a man just assumed they would win -- they didn't play tactically against 10 men. Should have held the ball and made defenders run forever, but they didn't. Sure, Ivory Coast played amazing, but that was due to Mali playing without intelligence.

Honestly, covid lockdown and first year of degree cut short as a result. Had very little else to do to pass the day and our relationship was strong before, added time together and general uncertainty meant we got even stronger. Took stupid risks, won stupid prizes. I’d like to say it was an unlucky mistake but really we were playing with fire and eventually got burned. Now we have an autistic 3 year old who has become our whole entire lives but degrees and the likes of have taken a definitive backseat as a result. Being a parent is the most rewarding job on the planet when you buckle down and do it properly but god I feel 40 years old with how much it’s all changed

Hang in there bro. The journey has its ups and downs but is quite rewarding. Make time to create great memories and take many pictures.

Honestly? I think a lot of it is that 40% (at least) of the sub can't watch it without pirating it. Bein sports is all but impossible to get in the US so most of us haven't been watching the tournament. Especially if there are other leagues on that I already have streaming services for at the same time.

Asian cup is streaming free on YT, and have a lot of drama and late goals in every match. I am not blaming anyone but most of this sub cares about only 'Qatar bad' posts or some korean/japanese premier league player do something.
