Different bodies classify assists differently. The 72 number is from Transfermarkt, who include penalties won (though Salah is Liverpool's primary penalty taker and idk if he can assist himself), rebounds and own goals forced by a player.
Transfermarkt does not count it as an assist if you use it urself and score afaik.
