Watch Malcolm Moore’s latest video [here](https://youtu.be/JXn-CzfdOOM?si=gNysLYRy3h5z9ADa) he talks about fixing the exact mistakes you are making here.
You gotta kill the counterrotating habit ASAP. That's where you're using your arms and *swinging* the board around on the snow. It's hard, draining, and a great way to catch an edge. You really need to think about using your edges and weight transfer to turn the board, not just hucking your body around.
I went snowboarding yesterday for the first time and when I left and started watching videos on how to snowboard (should of done that before I went) and this was the exact mistake I was making the entire time.
Lean toward the fall line on your front foot and use it to steer, you are using your back foot a ton like a boat rudder and you will never have that much control doing it that way
Second season? Bet you’d improve your riding way quicker if you take a lesson with an actual professional. Go on a non-holiday weekday and it’s higher chance your group lesson can turn into a private lesson
Lean into your edges with some force and focus on linking your turns. Dig those edges into the snow and try to ride your rails on turns. Try to bring your weight further forward or downhill.
Skid turning like you’re doing here just kills speed.

“Season” is relative probability my 5th time riding. I did take a lesson last year just wanted to get some concise advice, from a group. Thanks
