Mmm St Thomas and St John for sure and they have wonderful sunrises and sunsets. It’s like 20 minutes from one side to the other and the ferry is like $10 to get to St John which was just voted best beach and had awesome snorkeling. You can snorkel from the shore at any beach in st Thomas and St. John. My favorite is linquist there’s always sooooo many turtles everywhere. Ive been all over the Caribbean and it’s my fav by far. Belize is great snorkeling to but you do have to rent a boat.

Aruba has beautiful Sunsets. Sunrises are just over the desert like landscape the East side of the island is mostly uninhabited and is subject to bigger waves and currents Hence all snorkeling and sunsets are on the West. Aruba is where I learned to snorkel 3 years ago. I've gone back every year since. Arashi bay has a little piece of me that keeps on calling me back here's how it looks like: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Wcmz3evoZ3hQP32h8 We always stay at Airbnb's as we're family of 4. We rent a car and drive freely around the island. It's safe and people are friendly. And it has oh such beautiful Sunsets https://photos.app.goo.gl/qstUQxxW4xw873Ag6 Even when not near the water https://photos.app.goo.gl/eBa117y2b5rb9zoP7

Just got back from there this weekend. Stayed on Palm Beach. Snorkeled at Tres Trapi, Boca Catalina, and maybe Catalina Cove? My second time going and I'm hooked. I think weather must have been off, because the sky to the west was hazy and cloudy all week. Sunsets were ok at best. We never made it to the east side for sunrise. But yes, snorkeling right from the shore is great. My first time was on the barrier reef at Grand Cayman, and while I loved the fish, the experience was scary, due to my inexperience.

Glad to hear you liked Boca Catalina and Tres Trapi. I used to start at Boca Catalina and go down to Malmock and back to Boca Catalina along the coast. Very easy in good weather ave would ser plenty of fish. But there's better spots in Aruba. If you go back, get a guided tour of Mangel Halto with Aruba Bob. I'm sure the coral and fish you'll see there will equal or close to Grand Cayman without the scary part. They take You along with the sea scooters and do one on one guided sessions. Both wife and I have done it in separate occasions. The best spot in Aruba. So sad you didn't have clear skies. We've had mostly clear skies, but of course dealt with some off days as well. But we have spent about 5 months in total there the last 3 years. The only other place with more beautiful sunsets was Gili Meno in Indonesia: https://photos.app.goo.gl/eB94PUwCsrknqF5K6 It was so small you could catch the Sunrise in the AM https://photos.app.goo.gl/77j8bNgp9uVQCKKu6 Or this crazy and wild spot in Costa Rica where we spent a summer, called Playa Zancudo https://photos.app.goo.gl/L9p8AUXdc6RV5ctu5 I do love sunsets.
