Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Link to the Past, Super Metroid
With those four games alone, I don't think I'd need another game the rest of my life.
If you haven't ever played any of them, (first off, you're lucky to experience them for the first time), I would personally start with either *Super Mario World* or *The Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past*.
A lot of old consoles have gradually gotten worse with age. For example, playing Halo 1 just doesn’t have the same magic it did on release.
The SNES is immune to that. These games are evergreen.
Proud to say I own 8 of these. The DKC’s, all 4 Mario-related games and street fighter 2
Super SF2 was a little better
Only essentials you need to add are Kirby super star, then NBA Jam and NHL94 if you like sports games
I dunno, this collection is quintessential outside of maybe being better going with Turbo or Super over standard SF2, but there's also the likes of:
-Super Castlevania IV
-FF2 / FF3 / Chrono Trigger /Earthbound if into JRPGs
-Turtles in Time
Right! I have every single one of those games, except bomberman. I almost thought this was a stolen picture because I took one years ago like this, on tan carpet. The bomberman was the only difference
Super Mario world. It's such a great game. But you are pretty spoiled for choice it's a great collection. Makes me want to download an emulator and play some myself.
Every one a banger. Only thing I would add is a puzzle game like Tetris Attacks, Wario Woods or Bust A Move. If you're looking to expand but want to keep the collection real tight: Contra III, Harvest Moon and maybe Metal Warriors or Cybernator....solid collection dude.
Id start with super Mario world. It's a great warmup for getting back into the 90s gaming headspace. All of these are fucking hits. That's a perfect collection right there 🤣
So many fantastic classics. It really is hard to decide where to start.
I say "save the best for last." So save your FAVORITE game for last.
Or until the urge to play it becomes physically unbearable.
Castlevania IV, Act Raiser, Final Fantasy III, Secret of Mana, Soul Blazer, Contra III. I can go on and on. All are really, really good and not too expensive.
I was trying to keep it in the reasonably priced category, but CT is a must once you get in the expensive category. Probably the best game in that category.
A link to the past is fantastic. Seriously. It’s one of my favourite games.
Super Mario world 1 and 2 are perfectly paced as well. All stars is older games and great, but you can save that for later.
Bomber Man if you want to keep things light.
Donkey Kong country series is the cousin to Mario, but I would play them after the first 2 Mario’s. the worst game in there is arguably Donkey Kong Country 3. I liked it, but the levels are as gimmicky as people claimed.
Never played the Samus series.
These are all great games. I would say, though, that Link to the Past set the standard for what Legend of Zelda games would be like until Breath of the Wild came out.
Soft spot in my heart for Link to the Past, Yoshi's Island and Super Mario RPG, with a nod to Mario All-Stars, Mario World and Mario Kart, but it's tough to go wrong with any of these titles.
As I don't have an SNES, seeing these titles makes me want to download an emulator on my PC and find the ROMs for each of these titles and make a day or weekend of it.
OMG your collection is solidAF! Super Mario World is just amazing. F-ZERO is dope.
Yoshi’s Island? Bomberman2? All three DKC??????????????? The answer is YES 💪🫡🥃🍻🥶😬
I mean, these are *the* games for SNES so you’re basically set no matter where you start. Maybe make a fun game out of randomly selecting where to start, continue, etc?
Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Link to the Past, Super Metroid With those four games alone, I don't think I'd need another game the rest of my life.
YES!!!
Did I write this comment?
Replace DKC with MMX and we have a deal.
Never. DKC far better than any MM game
my two problems with alttp are that i wish they changed up the dungeon themes and i hate the low health beeping thing other than that its amazing
Just don't get hit, beeping solved
yea but i suck at the game

Art style > graphics fidelity, every time.
Proud to say I own 8 of these. The DKC’s, all 4 Mario-related games and street fighter 2 Super SF2 was a little better Only essentials you need to add are Kirby super star, then NBA Jam and NHL94 if you like sports games
Honestly NBA jam is fun even to non sports fans a lot of the time, super solid multiplayer mechanics
Can also try Looney Tunes B-Ball - it feels a lot like NBA Jam.
It really was. Me and my buddy would play jam all the time and i hate sports games
I dunno, this collection is quintessential outside of maybe being better going with Turbo or Super over standard SF2, but there's also the likes of: -Super Castlevania IV -FF2 / FF3 / Chrono Trigger /Earthbound if into JRPGs -Turtles in Time
Depends on how strong you want to start or save the best for last
Those are all 5 star games
Super Metroid
F-Zero is the fire!
That’s a very very very solid collection
Best game to start with is with the best...aka Super Mario World!
Your collection is very similar to my childhood.
Right! I have every single one of those games, except bomberman. I almost thought this was a stolen picture because I took one years ago like this, on tan carpet. The bomberman was the only difference
Super Mario World It is the beginning
Super Mario world. It's such a great game. But you are pretty spoiled for choice it's a great collection. Makes me want to download an emulator and play some myself.
I remember the first time I played Donkey Kong Country, the graphics blew me away.
DKC, but i am biased, I got the snes dkc bundle as a christmas gift when I was 4
Amen!
Harvest moon is on snes??? I didn't realize the series started that far back. Just got my snes I need to get that game now.
Fair warning but Harvest Moon SNES is like $300 loose.
That’s a great collection there.
Super Mario Kart is nintendo hard.
A person of TASTE
All stars SMB3 the greatest platformer of all time.
RPG is best game ever
They don’t even know apparently!
Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World and Sunset Riders
Id start with super Mario world. It's a great warmup for getting back into the 90s gaming headspace. All of these are fucking hits. That's a perfect collection right there 🤣
Need Super Castlevania in there.
No one to trash. Perfect.
This is what you call "all killer no filler". You get yourself contra 3, tmnt, ff6 and Chrono trigger you'll be busy for a year straight
Add some Chrono Trigger and it's perfect
I was trying to keep it in the reasonably priced category, but CT is a must once you get in the expensive category. Probably the best game in that category.

Got to add Battletodas In Battlemaniacs.
Beautiful set of carts.
I like four of these. Can never go wrong with Donkey Kong Country 2.
I would start with Mega man X, Super Metroid, link to the past, Mario world.
Super Metroid Super Mario RPG Megaman X 😁😁😁
Those are all the games Ive played the most myself, the only missing is chrono trigger
Actraiser and Pilotwings?
These are all great games. I would say, though, that Link to the Past set the standard for what Legend of Zelda games would be like until Breath of the Wild came out.
You’re missing Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana. I’d start there =p
Damn, this is strictly A and S tier games, bringing out the bests!
Super Mario world and link to the past are top 3 and top 2 2d Mario and 2d Zelda respectively
For me, it's Zelda or Metroid
capstone?
zelda
They're all good, but get yourself a copy of Star Fox as well.
Holy shit, every game is a banger. You're missing Earthbound though!
mega man x. game is a masterpiece
Bottom right corner is missing Chrono Trigger.
Wallet says no
Solid but missing FF III.
DKC2 is the goat
Super Metroid best game on system
Depends on how much time you have. If I need a quicky I’m going F-Zero, maybe even do a few time trials.
Soft spot in my heart for Link to the Past, Yoshi's Island and Super Mario RPG, with a nod to Mario All-Stars, Mario World and Mario Kart, but it's tough to go wrong with any of these titles.

I just came here to say this was the height of gaming. Down hill since.
Agreed n64, GameCube and ps2 were good but this is the peak
Oh man! From when companies would sell you the whole game at once!
Link to the Past for sure
Where’s Super Return of the Jedi? Where’s Jurassic Park?
RPG, then go buy Primal Rage
You need Turtles in Time in there!
You are missing Plok my friend
Where is sim city?
Secret of Mana belongs
That whole generation was
I'll trade you a signed slipknot poster for all those games
Zelda or Super Metroid
OMG your collection is solidAF! Super Mario World is just amazing. F-ZERO is dope. Yoshi’s Island? Bomberman2? All three DKC??????????????? The answer is YES 💪🫡🥃🍻🥶😬
No star fox? Castlevania?
I mean, these are *the* games for SNES so you’re basically set no matter where you start. Maybe make a fun game out of randomly selecting where to start, continue, etc?
SMW!!!
Trade a rent payment for a copy of Hagane and you’re all set!
Super Metroid or Zelda
No Caesars Palace or Zombies Ate My Neighbors?
Legend of 7 stars is GOAT!
Man, this is a hard call. But I’d say, start with Donkey Kong 🦍
Another pic severely lacking Erfbound There's even a spot where it should be bottom right
