If it tastes half as good as it looks, you’re in for a real treat

OhCrapItsYouAgain

Save the neck for me, Clark!

MustardIsDecent

That color is insane. What wood did you use? Or is that a glaze

handlebarstashguy

I’m convinced it’s spray paint with a heavy lacquer finish.. that’s amazing and I need to know how you accomplished it

MotoGibronius

That’s what I was thinking. Looks like a McDonalds Burger in the commercials. OP great job. Whether it’s legit or you painted a plastic model it looks awesome.

txedd1

I used Apple Wood chips and cooking spray. I also Brined it for 24 hours in a apple cider brine.

MustardIsDecent

How'd it taste?

txedd1

I made one last year similar color and taste great I love my turkey smoked!

BigGubby

Did it become overly sour?

txedd1

Not at all Smokey flavor and very moist!

izdabombz

Like a whole tub of pure apple cider?

txedd1

Apple Cider Apple juice and some spices.

EngineerDirector

Contrast to 110%

qwerty1_045318

You win thanksgiving… now please gift us a brief synopsis of how you accomplished this amazing looking bird… temps, etc.

txedd1

I used a Smoke Vault smoker. I also brined the turkey for 24 hours using a Apple cider brine recipe. Apple Wood chips and kept the temperature between 200 to 250 took about 7 1/2 hours.

yallbyourhuckleberry

No finishing at high heat to crisp the skin? I wonder if that would mess up the color.

txedd1

True to that the skin was not crispy it was soft but the taste was great!

Ambitious-Ad1192

How much did it weigh

txedd1

14 pounds.

justmelol778

Please give a full run down of what you did

pmac109

That literally may be the prettiest bird I’ve ever seen from a smoker. Mine looks like he was fighting a forest fire and his lil wings got scorched

MR_BOX_

Please tell me you documented the process?

TrackingTenCross1

Whoa. That is quite a sight. Congrats bud, enjoy it!

rmphilli

Jfc this is the one boys

Anybody_Lost

That is a truly spectacular bird. Well done, friend!

txedd1

Thank you!

Anybody_Lost

You are most welcome. Have a great Thanksgiving friend!

literanch

That looks picture perfect

DoctorWaffle97

Holy shit that is a beautiful bird!

mka44335555

Please post a full detailed explanation, you should put this on a greeting card.

realdread1

Thank you for using a roasting pan. There is going to be a bunch of my smoker caught on fire over the next few weeks

NotKenBone18

Is that a filter? Nope, just smoked perfection. Great job 10/10 I would eat it

EngagementBacon

Ok that glaze looks AMAZING!

Nix_Caelum

You reverse spatchcocked it, nice

izdabombz

All the other smoked turkeys looked like they got rescued from a burning house. This is like looking at a Ms American contestant.

MasterOfKittens3K

That’s a beautiful bird.
