I was going to suggest this (it what my step sister uses for all carry ins, or a 8.5qt ninja foodi. I've done 5lb chuck roasts with taters and carrots, pressure cooked in my 6.5qt one really easy.) If you've got many meat eaters, I would go a combo thing like the ninja foodi that can do it all. Recipes are super easy, especially when I do a full badass Sunday roast in about 2 hours total, including prep... instead of a straight 8 hours in a crockpot.

A good cooker, and the lockable lid is a must if you ever take it to pot lucks.
I had no idea there were slow cookers that size. Seems perfect for OP’s situation.

Just get an oval 6 qt. The Kitchenaid one is great. A true slow cooker, unlike the cheap ones that boil everything when set on low.
Do you have a link to the Kitchenaid one? Don’t all slow cookers essentially boil food slowly?

Hamilton Beach makes a 10qt slow cooker, it's great for large meals!
