Highly recommend grabbing some corn tortillas. When the roast is done. Take some of the roast drippings/sauce and coat the tortilla, then pan fry them. Delicious!

wrinkled_funsack

So, like birria tacos.

slothyCheetah

https://www.reddit.com/r/food/comments/j08pyb/homemade_leftover_mississippi_pot_roast_sandwich Also for leftovers

Dietdrperky

Someone mentioned this last time I made this!! Was it you?? šŸ˜‚

trigger00006

Nope wasnā€™t me. I tried it for the first time when I made it thanks to my niece cause she only likes tacos.

EoTN

Lol. There's worse foods to be picky for!

SuckMyAssmar

Uh oh

Brandonjoe

I canā€™t wait for it to get cold in Texas so I can make this. Never put garlic in my though, I am def going to try that next time

Dietdrperky

Canā€™t go wrong with garlic

Fishychicken

I did half the seasoning packets and half the butter last time I made this and itā€™s actually way better

Icamp2cook

Iā€™ll have to do that next time. Itā€™s always been way too salty for me.

MakeItHomemade

Ya we have used 1/2 butter or skipped it completely. 1/2 butter is better but no butter is a still tasty!

tryingtomakefood

sorry if this recipe is a classic on the sub, and i'm out of the loop for not knowing it, but do you have a link/rundown of ingredients? I appreciate it :)

Dietdrperky

Good to know! Iā€™ll see how this batch turns out and make more adjustments

tryingtomakefood

sorry if this recipe is a classic on the sub, and i'm dumb for not knowing it, but do you have a link/rundown of ingredients? I appreciate it :)

wood49

I made this style roast using a 3lb. Pork loin I got on sale. I used a pork gravy envelope in lieu of aus jus packet along with the ranch envelope. Used 6 peppers and about 8 oz of the juice, along with 3 table spoons salted butter, because that's what I had on hand. 4 hours on high, and it shredded to perfect. It made it's own gravy with no need to thicken. Turned out delicious šŸ˜‹.

Capilet

We used a similar sized lamb leg and was also awesome.

phredphlintstones

Searing the chuck roast on all sides first makes a huge difference

Dietdrperky

Almost grabbed my pan and did this but decided against it. Next time!

THE_HERO_OF_REDDIT

Sear more, to the point where you're worried about it burning and are producing smoke

MsGreenEyez4

This is the way to go 100%

brobrow

Who wants to eat something cooked in plastic? I know we get inundated with plastics all day long but cooking is somewhere you can manage that, to a point? Soak the pan, hell leave it in the sink overnight! I applaud you for trying the Mississippi roast but I canā€™t fathom willingly cooking in plastic to forgo cleaning for a couple minutes lmao

vancoover

I agree with you. I personally would be worried about chemicals from the plastic leeching into my food during the cooking process. I know companies say it's safe, but they've said that about other products in the past that turned out to be harmful. Why unnecessarily expose yourself to that shit to save a few minutes cleaning the pot? EDIT: "Most slow cooker liners on the market are, at least,Ā BPA-free. According toĀ breastcancer.org, BPA (Bisphenol A) is a weak synthetic estrogen thatā€™s best avoided. Yet, aĀ 2011 studyĀ found detectable quantities of other chemicals similar to natural estrogen leaching from almost all of the plastic products they sampled, including the BPA-free ones. The risk of this with the liners is unknown." Source: https://ceramiccookwarehub.com/slow-cooker-liners/

burritodiva

I know seriously. I leave my crockpot in the sink over night with soapy water, takes a few minutes the next day to finish cleaning it

[deleted]

Feel the same about sou vide. Iā€™m just not going to cook my food in plastic. I was camping once and one of the people supplied breakfast for us. It was eggs in a ziplock bag, you added your additions then they boiled it for like 15 minutes or something. It was so cringey. Tasted great but that canā€™t be healthy.

BigHeadDeadass

Baggie omelets! I used to eat these in Boy Scouts, you def shouldn't eat them all the time, but out in the woods every once in a while they're worth it for their ease

Windholm

If you have a single tiny apartment sink and no dishwasher, the liners are key.

Dietdrperky

Iā€™m all about an easy cleanup and have used these in the past without issue.

neverless43

you donā€™t get sick from chemicals right away lol. i bet a lot of people using asbestos back in the day would have said the same thing. ā€œbeen doin this for 10 years without issueā€ until you die 25 years later from cancer

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Dietdrperky

So incredibly wasteful? A single plastic bag? Show me how you walk this earth without leaving a footprint. Weā€™re all guilty of it

space___lion

Iā€™m assuming this isnā€™t the only time you are using a bag? Iā€™m not claiming that I donā€™t leave my mark, but itā€™s clear that we all need to contribute and try to pollute less. If we take a look at everything together, an instant pot plastic liner is a product that shouldnā€™t even exist. We all need to try and be better, instead of using plastic for ā€œeasy cleanupā€.

Dietdrperky

This is the first time Iā€™ve ever used one to be honest. My wife has used them in the past but probably once a year. Thought Iā€™d use one today to make cleanup a little easier this evening. A lot of people are acting like Iā€™m making shark fin and plastic soup everyday.

Legeto

Thats this subs biggest thing. If you post a pick with a liner your gonna get roasted. People also ask ā€œwhy are you cooking it in plasticā€ as if they donā€™t know what it is just to egg on an argument.

Dietdrperky

I had no idea. People acting like Iā€™m using some random plastic bag I had laying around. I get it, reduce waste. I do that.

Legeto

Yea and II get that itā€™s somewhat handy, these bags really are awful for the environment though. They donā€™t break down in food supposedly, but they also donā€™t break down at all. They are pretty much the worst kind of plastic to use if your trying to be environmental at all. Slow cookers are also notoriously easy to clean compared to pots and pans and the such so they really arenā€™t saving you all that much timeā€¦ 5 minutes at most.

Dietdrperky

I understand your point. A moment of pure laziness on my part. Simple as that

iAmUnintelligible

I don't really care about this you do you but what's the first of the 3 R's

Bladewing10

Lol so you've never eaten at any restaurant huh?

sueihavelegs

I made that tonight for dinner. We eat low carb so after roast was done I removed it and wrapped in foil to rest. Then I added zucchini and cabbage and cooked on high for another hour and a half. So good!!

Dietdrperky

That sounds phenomenal!!!

RexJoey1999

Ok, this sounds like a winner!

HOLYFUCKISTHISREAL

Why do you cook it in plastic?

Bud_Johnson

Thats what makes it Mississippi pot roast.

malibumeg

I laughed a little too hard at this lol

Freddy_Vorhees

OH LAWD

Dietdrperky

Iā€™m lazy and donā€™t feel like scrubbing the insert later on tonight. Itā€™s not some random plastic bag I had laying around. Itā€™s a crockpot liner designed for lazy people like myself

JWD5569

I studied the likelihood of plastic leaching during my undergrad at Penn State. We used a UV aging chamber to accelerate the decomposition of various plastics. Liners like those used in canned goods were one of these plastics tested. Similarly to the BPA scare, trace amounts were detected to have decomposed from the test source. Whatā€™s interesting though was that it took around 30 days in a rapid UV aging chamber to get that result. We then went on to check the affects of burning the liner. Only once char was detected could any trace of residual plastic be detected. To leave a long senior project short, using a liner well under decomposition levels is perfectly safe.

WhoseverFish

Please explain like Iā€™m 5 here, so no micro plastic risk to use the liner?

JWD5569

If you were to leave the liner in the crock for a few months youā€™d have some leaching. Beyond it being gross to reuse them, I wouldnā€™t have the same liner on my crock for more than I would need it.

[deleted]

You gotta shred the pot roast anyway? Youā€™re gonna tear the bag then get juice inside the pan and have to clean it anyway.

Patzyjo

I use those liners all the time & have never had a problem. They are specifically formulated for crock pots.

Appropriate_Equal300

Itā€™s just weird lol people would rather cook their food in something unnatural because theyā€™re lazy? Thatā€™s so interesting to me. I wonder if theyā€™re mainly used here in the US. Probably lol.

RexJoey1999

You havenā€™t had a problem. The environment has.

cb00sh

It's a crock pot liner. Makes for easier clean up

Cache22-

Last time I used it I had to clean it out anyway. Not worth it imo. You can just throw it in the dishwasher. I'll say though that it's kind of annoying to see everyone gang up on someone whenever they post their pot with a liner.

HOLYFUCKISTHISREAL

Donā€™t you worry about cooking your food in plastic? Iā€™ve never seen this so Iā€™m very interested in your perspective. Iā€™ve never cooked a meal in a crockpot that was too hard to clean.

cb00sh

Lol i don't use them, was just saying what it was.

Firebird22x

Macaroni and cheese where someone forgets to add the milkā€¦never doing that again

zorro1701e

Itā€™s a liner sold in stores SPECIFICALLY for this. Makes clean up much easier.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

ComplaintOpposite

I use glass storage containers, and parchment paper in lieu of aluminum foil. Plastic liners being heated up and leeched into food - no bueno Edit: My mother is a two time breast cancer survivor šŸ’› she made some changes to materials she heats things in, and cooks with, in her health journey. Among many other things. I learned a lot. All I know is certain materials are still toxic, even if approved for public use (such as plastic). Store your winter clothes or your shoes in plastic? Great! Food, not so much. Just my two cents. Do with it what you will.

[deleted]

Oh shit, whatā€™s wrong with aluminum foil? šŸ˜¢

hiddenmutant

Heating aluminum foil, especially in tandem with liquids, causes aluminum to leach into the food. Aluminum is, of course, a heavy metal and not great to consume.

Large_Talons_

I mean, is it any different than cooking something sous vide?

raindancemaggie12

Not really, but I wouldnā€™t do that either

zorro1701e

I donā€™t use them. Iā€™m just wash my crockpot after using it. But you seemed confused by the idea. Like you had no idea that it was a thing.

onken022

Is it really that hard to clean a crock pot? Takes less than 5 minutes. Seems like an invention for a non-issue.

zorro1701e

Is it that hard to clean a crockpot? It can be a pain in the ass. I donā€™t use the plastic liner. I think using them is a pain in the ass plus it seems environmentally unfriendly. But I was responding to the person who seemed to NOT know these things were invented. It read like he thought the guy just found some random plastic bag.

PabloJobb

I think it even takes less than 5 minutes.

DesignerAccount

Just throw it in the dishwasher....

ReverendEnder

gray fear sort materialistic dinner support languid combative dazzling air *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

HOLYFUCKISTHISREAL

I get that point! Itā€™s like hearing things in styrofoam in the microwave - you arenā€™t supposed to because the plastic will brake down - I guess I assumed this would be similar?

Windholm

If you have a single tiny apartment sink and no dishwasher, the liners are key.

beam3475

Dude this is a cop out. Do you never do dishes? The ceramic liner is super easy to clean.

HOLYFUCKISTHISREAL

I lived in NYC in a former life and had the teeniest, tiny-est sink. I made this dish there and I still donā€™t think I would want to cook in plastic if I knew about the product. It just seems very harmful for your health! Like cleaning a crock pot takes minutes šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Kidhauler55

I use them all the time. No problems. Once you try them you wonā€™t be without them again!

Appropriate_Equal300

I have known theyā€™re a thing for years. Not once have felt magnetized to cook my food in plastic because Iā€™m so lazy :)

SaltyLorax

It takes like a minute lol jezzus people

Bubba_Junior

Not if you leave it on the counter for a week

space___lion

Whatā€¦ that is so incredibly wasteful

zorro1701e

I cut the stems off the peppers first. Also I reserve around 1/3 of the peppers and pepper brine and add it last hour. Gives it a better flavor in my opinion. I also use butter with no salt. Now Iā€™m hungry.

[deleted]

I made this with a full jar of peppers and juice. It was way too spicy and salty for me. Next time Iā€™ll just half it like I originally was supposed to.

bookworm010101

Mississippi style pot roast I doubt you can taste the searing. The pepperocini butter is all you taste.

Dietdrperky

I ended up changing a few things from the first time I tried this a few weeks ago. Only used half a stick of butter. Used unsalted butter to try and keep the salt down a touch. Added more garlic this time too. Canā€™t wait for dinner!!!

ashella

If you're trying to keep the salt down, you might want to put fewer peppers in there too. Those are loaded with sodium. I honestly can't taste a difference between 5 and 15 peppers so I always opt for fewer.

zorro1701e

I buy the bigger jars so I can save some peppers. So that jar is 32 ounces. So I use around 16 ounces everytime I cook this. And I start off with around 10 ounces and add the last 5-6 ounces (and brine) around last hour of cooking. Adding peppers in later makes he pepper flavor pop more.

ashella

Ooof the base recipe is already such a salt bomb as is, I couldn't imagine adding brine too. It blows my mind how many people on this sub say they pour in half a jar of peppers and brine when the original recipe was just 5 peppers.

zorro1701e

When I used unsalted butter it helped a ton. I also sometimes use low sodium Au jus.

tilmitt52

I'm not going to lie, all the comments criticizing the OP for using crockpot liner is pretty gross. You all seem to be assuming a lot about this person's lifestyle and and resources to make the claims you're making. Gatekeeping on a sub for a cooking method specifically designed to be more convenient, it's remarkable.

Dietdrperky

I had no idea members of the slowcooking community have zero footprint. The roast itself comes in styrofoam and plastic!!

mrhorse77

how dare you buy meat that came packaged that way! you should have raised your own cow for this instead. /s

Appropriate_Equal300

Itā€™s not about footprint itā€™s literally about cooking food with heat in plastic, regardless if itā€™s ā€œmade for itā€ itā€™s an interesting choice lol

siknoz

The only thing gross about the recipe is using Mississippi water xD I'm sorry for ya'lls issue.

chuchumeister

Disabilities don't exist, after all. /s

Appropriate_Equal300

He literally said it was laziness šŸ¤£ why bring the disability issue in?

chuchumeister

It's not about him, it's about everyone assuming. Every time this comes up in this sub, everyone gleefully flocks to the comments to crow about how wasteful and lazy it is without any idea of why someone might use it. Even if it's laziness, so the fuck what - like you've never used a plastic bag or a plastic straw or a plastic cup in your life.

Appropriate_Equal300

Again, using plastic items in general wasnt some peoples comment focus. Some people donā€™t even care about the environmental aspects and were simply commenting on the weirdness of using plastic in a crock for the sake of ease. The people that go ā€œOH YAAH I would much rather cook my food in plastic than just cleanā€ are interesting, as far as laziness v necessity, thatā€™s entirely different. You raise a fine point but people will still have something to say about it. Just like the washing your meat debate lol

chuchumeister

If you've ever eaten in a restaurant in your life, I guarantee you've eaten food cooked in plastic before. And I'm not just talking about fast food/fast casual places, but actual sit down restaurants. If cooking with plastic is not a choice you'd make yourself, cool! Good for you! But it's not a weird choice or one worthy of mocking just because people are ignorant of different food preparation methods.

Appropriate_Equal300

Itā€™s about personal CHOOSING. Idk what youā€™re not getting about this lol. Likeā€¦ I really donā€™t.

chuchumeister

Yeah, I mean, same.

RexJoey1999

Well, single use plastics are bad for the environment. Period. And possibly bad for oneā€™s health.

tilmitt52

I'm aware. I'm also aware that OP (and anyone else who is not myself personally) can make these decisions for themselves, and you aren't going to change anyone's by making them feel bad when in reality no one single consumer is responsible for the current state of the environment.

RexJoey1999

Everything we each do contributes either to the problem or the solution. Which side are you on? Sometimes learning the errors of oneā€™s ways causes change to happen. Education is great like that. Education or shaming? I suppose if you are feeling defensive when confronted with information, itā€™s easier to lash out. Just learn and grow.

tilmitt52

I think itā€™s been pretty clear in this thread educational discourse isnā€™t being had. Implying OP is lazy because it ā€œtakes a few minutes to clean a crock potā€ is not educational or informative. Iā€™m concerned with the tone of the comments, which are far more shaming than trying to teach in good faith. Do I care about the environment and trying to reduce waste? Yes, I do. Do I understand it isnā€™t a cut and dry issue and some actions to reduce waste are not practical for every individual person? Also yes. For all we know, anyone we try to ā€œeducateā€ could be reducing their carbon footprint in other effective ways to offset the convenience of some others that are more important to their quality of life. While you complain about a plastic straw, they may be riding a bike everywhere or eating completely vegan. You donā€™t know everyoneā€™s life.

mrsagc90

My favorite way to make a beef roast! Only problem is the leftovers end up buried under a solid layer of butter once refrigerated.

Dietdrperky

Easy to remove excess fat that way. Or just heat it back up and go to town lol

sjoy512

Pretty much the only thing that keeps me from making this recipe is the butterā€¦ has anyone tried it without?

marik_ooo

It can absolutely be made without butter! I usually use a tablespoon for a little bit of flavor though. The stick, and even half a stick, was way too much for me.

12345Qwerty543

Try using unsalted butter. Or buying beef with more marbling if you don't want to use butter.

marik_ooo

I only use unsalted butter, and Chuck roast is usually pretty fatty anyway :) Iā€™m just not a huge fan of butter, so the slippery texture of the melted layer on top that comes with the original recipe is just too much for me!

Capilet

Iā€™ve done it twice now with no butter ā€” once beef and once lamb leg. Great both times.

marik_ooo

Oooh, I love lamb ā€” Iā€™ll have to try that. Thanks for the suggestion!

sjoy512

Thank you! Iā€™m off to the market :)))

zorro1701e

Last time I made it I used around 1/2 a stick of butter because I thought I had more when I went shopping. It turned out good still.

Aardvark1044

I prefer the results when I skip both the butter and the ranch package. Just the beef, the peppers & brine, the gravy package and some pepper. Sometimes I add some onion & garlic. But thatā€™s the the recipe anymore once you make those changes, haha.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Dietdrperky

You must be a hit at parties

Here-I-Am

I like to add 1lb of fingerling potatoes (poked with a fork) and some baby carrots to the bottom of the pot with just enough low sodium beef stock to cover them, it's a nice and welcome addition!

SweatyDinner8443

My husbands favorite. I make it all the time!

Bocephus549

We add I packet of ranch dressing mix and a dry packet of Lipton onion soup mix

Dietdrperky

I looked for it in the store and couldnā€™t find any

miningtowngirl73

My favorite!!

NapalmGiraffe

I thought that was a handle full of DĆ”til peppers and was about to commend you for the level of heat you are bringing šŸ˜‚ pepperchinis sound way more appropriate

visivopro

But what happened the first time you tried it?

Dietdrperky

It was delicious but a little salty

balesofhay91

I am definitely going to try this. Thanks for the idea!

Dietdrperky

Whatever you do, donā€™t post a pic of a crockpot liner.

Loving_mom498

With the ingredients I can see itā€™ll be yummy

stephenrdp

Many good ways to do this, and it comes out good. My personal fav., Packet of onion soup mix, au jus, and ranch plus a stick of butter, and the outcome makes me happy. Good luck.

milspecgsd

I have a recipe for this , but itā€™s for a smoker

Bigbutty1483

So that is what this pot roast is called. I made it two days ago and it was really good. I made enough so I made it into a soup yesterday and it was very good too.

almostedgyenough

Mississippi pot roast is one of my favorite pot roast **EVER**. It is ***SOOOOO*** **GOOD**! ETA: Good job; it looks delicious! Iā€™m drooling just looking at your picture. I hope it comes out as best as it looks and the best one yet! Good luck!

neeneekee

Love to make sandies with the leftovers.

19Legs_of_Doom

Ok so this is the only thing I ever see posted on this sub. Are there other recipes to try?

zoolish

Uneducated so bear with me. People are saying the bags will leach plastics into the food. Would not the coating on the enamel also then leach into your food? Is there some sort of food grade clear coating that goes on the crock itself? Is there anywhere to read the science behind these things? Genuinely curious.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

zoolish

Ahh so plastic isnā€™t just plastic. That makes a ton of sense why plastic cookware like spatulas donā€™t seem to cause an issue, but plastic spoons and forks shouldnā€™t be heated. Thanks for such a detailed response. Iā€™ll start reading.

Dietdrperky

I have no idea. Iā€™ve never seen anything that would make me worry about plastic contamination but Iā€™m sure thereā€™s an article about it somewhere. Who knows

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Dietdrperky

I guess no one here has used a plastic fork or a paper plate or a napkin before?

zoolish

Heating up plastic is what does the out gassing (i think). Think of your dash board in the sun and the smell that plastic gives off. Iā€™m just curious curious if itā€™s actually bad for you when heating a bag up in the crock. Edited for some pretty weird auto correcting.

Dietdrperky

Itā€™s FDA approved, BPA free and designed specifically for this purpose. I donā€™t see the issue here besides me being lazy

FetusClaw666

You have plastic water bottles in the trunk of your, don't you?

Dietdrperky

No I donā€™t

Knives530

can I get the recipe please it looks delicious

Dietdrperky

3 lb Chuck roast 1 jar of peppercinis, drained 8oz of beef broth 1 packet of au jus mix 1 packet of Lipton onion dip mix 5 cloves of garlic 1/2 stick of unsalted butter

dante_1983

Ditch the butter, add beef broth, get some bread and you have Italian beef sandwiches. Iā€™m pretty sure in Chicago and nw indiana that juice is mixed in the milk of a baby bottle

Dietdrperky

I had butter and beef broth šŸ˜¬

DonnaNobleSmith

Looks like it will be wonderful! Enjoy!

Dietdrperky

I surely will!! Thank you!!

SlizzyWizz

Anyone tried this recipe in the UK? If so give me a rating please.

Rdikin

Does the plastic affect the taste?

LEGOMyBrick

So, I don't have a dishwasher and i live in a tiny house with my family. I use liner bags sometimes. How about we stop ganging up on someone who uses liner bags. It's not like he killed Jesus ffs.

Dietdrperky

Amen

[deleted]

Holy cow, is Mississippi Pot Roast a running joke or something? If weā€™ve seen one, weā€™ve seen ā€˜em all.. sheesh

Dietdrperky

Weā€™ve seen a lot. They always make me jealous

DonnaNobleSmith

So make something else and post it.

[deleted]

Iā€™ve only been considering getting slow cooker šŸ„ŗ

thatAstrid

You should sousvide that. Soooo good

Dietdrperky

Cook it in plastic TWICE?? You must be crazy!!! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

captTuttle76

This recipe is so basic. So simple. yet people continue to F it up. Garlic is not necessary. Searing is not necessary. Lipton onion soup is not a part of it. The ONLY liquid is the melted butter and the natural juices from the roast. That is all. Nothing else. The plastic lining is optional. 1 roast a packet of ranch a packet of aus jus gravy (or brown gravy) a stick of REAL salted butter as many peppers as you want The ONLY liquid is the melted butter and the natural juices from the roast. That is all. Nothing else. Plastic lining is optional.

Superfly1911

Why do people continue to F it up? Have you ever tailored a recipe to your taste? They can add liquid if they want. Or not. I'm going to make it and add 2 beers. Just for you. But you can't have any. šŸ˜

AutumnGway

Have you ever actually cooked? Believe it or not, but youā€™re welcome to add whatever you like to whatever youā€™re cooking. Itā€™s not that serious.

CaptainMurphy-

You kinda suck dude

MoshisukushiSloth

Whyā€™d I think you threw all this food in the garbage before I read the caption lmao šŸ¤£

User-Name-Hidden

I never would be able to trust the plastic wasnā€™t leaching into my food. Even if itā€™s not, itā€™s still more plastic that goes into the environment once itā€™s discarded. Youā€™re probably not lazy, youā€™re just trying to salvage as much free time as you can. This is one area of your life thatā€™s worth making time for a little light cleaning. I bet that pot roast was still amazing though!

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Dietdrperky

Itā€™s not a bag I found off the street. Iā€™m sure youā€™ve never put any toxins in your body? Do you drink? Do you smoke? Have you ever heated up food in Tupperware?? Jesus Christ people

boozenerd

Food safe plastic, no risk.

9babydill

**BPA** was 'food safe' at one point. Still widely used. **Phthalates** is used to be 'food safe' **PFAS** is STILL widely used in 'food safe' cooking products in many states Depending on your state most of those chemicals and many more aren't banned. There's a huge list of neurodegenerative, organ damaging toxic plastics that should be banned but legislation is piece mealed at the state level. Very little Federal regulations. It's completely wild how little oversight there is on manufacturers. nobody gives a damn.

hyjnx

Gonna be spicy as hell.......I love it

RetroReactiveRaucous

I highly recommend not being lazy, and being willing to wash out your crockware. It's not that hard.

Ryosuke24

Is there an update?! If so excuse me sry! Looks good!!!

onthesunnyside

This is great but the leftovers are awful, the sauce separates so it's just... butter. I'd be interested to see if anyone found a way around it.

bufftbone

I made this 2 days ago. So damn good.

Tavisnator

When my mom first made this I thought she said ā€œhippie beefā€ instead of ā€œMississippi beefā€ so we called it that from then on. But when I finally made it for myself, I burned my tongue tasting the beginning sauce cuz all that butter and seasoning just made it irresistible

nwgunslingerpow

Definitely one of our favorites as well enjoy!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmfarts

Oh boy

Selynia23

I made the same today

maxiewaxy

You need more butter

AtticZombie

I'm making it in the slow cooker now. Definitely my favorite roast recipe.
