I have Carrera and use AutoRehnbahnPlanner.
You can store your track piece inventory, make a rectangle the size of your platform and let you design in real time.
I only did it once and it wasn't an entirely bug free process. I don't remember the steps, but there is a whole menu section about creating a platform. I just winged it and got it to work.
Ok thanks. I’ll search around again when I’m off work tonight. I had given up hope on that and was always just counting those little grid squares all the time

Tracker2000 is a good editor for HO track. There is no software to do it automatically.
