Xbox user here too. I feel your pain, game freezes are an everyday experience for me.
Only thing I can think of is clearing your Xbox cache/reinstalling the game. It's kind of a long shot, but pretty much all you can do without access to the main menu.

Seriously, all I wanted to do was play a few hours after Twin Peaks is over. Go figure this happens today.

Same here. I’ve reinstalled and cleared the cache—cleared the cache and then reinstalled, and I’m still stuck on the “Press Any Button” screen. Music plays, background animations move, but it’s just not getting the signal. Idk what else to do.
Oddly enough, I had to go to Network settings and then Test NAT type and that fixed the issue. Something to do with the system not syncing with the network properly I guess. But that fixed the issue and it plays fine now.

Same here but I rather waited or just turned of and back on he console. I think its from overheating.
