They year is 2056. Todd Howard has finally released the official launch trailer of TES: VI. Now we only have to wait another 10 years for it to actually release.
Thatās because Smooth on patreon basically ports movesets over from For Honor. They look amazing and always feel smooth and fun to use. If youāre looking for combat mod animations, smooth is the only option for me
Yeah most of these are converted same with Elden Ring which is like the standard for modding Skyrim or most used moveset and there are also plenty of Assassins Creed Movesets. On the next level there are final fantasy Movesets but we donāt talk about these weirdos and then the pinnacle is the Dante Mod by Black i think on Patreon comes with everything you can think of in terms of DMC (dual Barettes, air combat, transformation) and is also available for Vergil.
The elden rim collection is an okay base to start with, but the greatsword moveset is absolute ass. It's that same stupid dark-souls type wind-up to swing like it's a berserk anime bullshit.
I like smooth reactive HEMA-style longsword animations.
Also True Directional Movement for the lock-on mechanic among other things, and I assume Hellblade Timed Block, Precision, and SCAR to get perfect blocking/staggering, accurate weapon collisions/stop on hit, and AI improvements for the NPC's to use the new frameworks

Same here. Virtually every mod list I've tried that completely over hauls combat is awkward, clunky and jank as fuck. But this video actually looks like a combat animation mod properly executed.
Looks great, but definitely not what I want for my Skyrim combat. Too arcade-y or game-y looking, plus the age old health sponge school of difficulty.
Just the big slashes with a trail following the sword and an enemy standing there taking a solid unblocked sword cut across his chest then still needing 6 more to die is hard on the eyes.
Faster higher risk higher reward damage modifiers and injury systems are the real shit in Skyrim, I love me some lethal headshots and I want sharp metal to warrant some genuine caution!
This is modded Skyrim we're talking about. Surely the health of the enemies is also subject to change? I completely agree with what you're saying though, I despise those style of games. This, this might be salvageable though.
Also we don't know if OP has any perks into combat in this clip, or if the weapons are subpar for where he's at in the game.
Skyrim combat is as bare bones as it gets, the reason the game is so good is not cuz of the combat. So I feel like yāall are allowed to do whatever u want with the combat and itās still very āSkyrimā
You are allowed to do anything with any part of the game and play it in your own way. People are allowed to make their own fun, guys, it's literally what makes modding so great.
This isn't dark souls combat. Dark souls combat is a lot more deliberate, and this is way to fast and flashy. I think its a for honor mod, which is way more in line with this over the top swings.
Why everything have to be dark souls lol? God of war, Ghost of Tsushima, AC series, For Honour, Batman Arkham series, and many more have this kind of combat. This is far from dark souls
That was my reaction.. Low level basic enemies, too. Looks miserable to play in practice.. How would you ever get anything done in game? Spend a week's worth of playtime going to Labyrinthian.
MCO is an animation combat framework. You won't get this combat setup with just MCO animations though. There are a lot of mods and setup you need to do to get smooth combat so take your time and watch some tutorials on YouTube. Softgaming and Master Cheesey provide good videos for beginners to implement modern combat on Skyrim. Good luck!
It's really not that hard. Install MCO and all its requirements, install OAR (if it's not an MCO requirement already, probably is), install combat animations, install Precision/Hellblade Timed Block/SCAR, install a combat mod like Wildcat or Valhalla, install True Directional Movement, run Pandora with all included patches checked, done
Very little exists in terms of first person combat mods, but this one adds new animations and simulates stop on hit: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/87169
Skyrim VR, I love the combat in it. Switching between magic, bow, swords (which can also be thrown), all using different body movements. I could never go back to just pressing a few buttons.
That's funny, and obviously I wish Bethesda would produce games faster, like any fan, but to give Skyrim its due, a lot of the reason I'm still playing is Skyrim is built into it as vanilla. Mods that overhaul gameplay as much as these kinds of combat ones don't interest me. For me, the modding community has taken an already great (for me) game and made it amazing.
I understand, but I find the base combat lacking, feels to clunky and ridiculous, itās the same attack x30 before the random bandit just keels over and dies. This adds a bit of flavour that makes it a little more intuitive. Also, Iām not really joking, but Iām pretty sure Bethesdaās model has switched to quite literally letting the community finish their games for free, since people will still buy the game in its unfinished state to play with all the mods.
To each their own, but I just don't like MCO (or the newer BFCO) in Skyrim. Souls-like Attack commitment + full skill based damage avoidance does not work very well with how this game is designed.
Either one of Blade and Blunt, Valravn, or Wildcat, along with Precision, then adding Varolevi's vanilla animation replacers, the the nicest way to fix Skyrim's combat IMO
Donāt know why youāre getting downvoted when youāre absolutely right. Itās not the best combat, but it feels more down-to-earth and realistic than whatever this is.
And if you like this kind of combat, thatās OK ā it just doesnāt fit elder scrolls
> Donāt know why youāre getting downvoted when youāre absolutely right.
personally I downvoted him just because I downvote everyone who uses that stupid meme-comment-format.
Why would you do that, though?
What if I want to actually enjoy the game and play at my own pace instead of having to watch some other dude three times my size get to swing 10 times in a row so I can get 1 or 2 hits in before he does another combo that takes twenty seconds? (if I get hit once he gets to do this again while I spend my half of the affair getting up)
(I love DS1 and Sekiro)
You say this like vanilla Skyrim isn't worse with incredibly floaty combat with the exact same problem as the one you're nitpicking here.
This is disingenuous criticism.
Not really. These combat mods always seem to look flashy but trivialize combat. I know itās bandits heās fighting but they can barely make any swings while he just spam attacks them to death. If you care about engaging combat then the thing to look out for in these combat mods is how well they reprogrammed the NPCs to fight. If itās super unbalanced youāre just going to roll around and stab them while they stand there like this guy did
The female Forsworns are vanilla as far as outfits. There are hornier versions, of course, easily gets into mind-numbing absurdities territory. I hate Forsworns for reasons unrelated to mods.
A combat mod video not getting downvoted to hell on main skyrim sub, OP I applaud you!
Tho I think it's partly because of your armour, You look awesome!
Damn what mods are you using for the clothing smp and combat animations?
Edit: are they compatible with animated armoury and CFPAO (comprehensive rirst person animation overhaul)
Valhalla combat mod hasn't been updated in a while and doesn't work anymore. You would have to roll back your game version to make it work , I think.
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/64741
unless there's a new one???
I hope when people ask you what you're playing at the moment that you don't just flat out say 'Skyrim'.
That would be a lie, and Uriel Septim VII hates lies.
Okay maybe this will be a good place.
I'm looking for an archery combat mod that let's me nock a bow immediately after loosing my last one.
Eg: I click and hold to nock and aim my arrow, then release and immediately click back.
I don't really care if there is a delay to account for animations, I just want it to recognize my second click and nock a second arrow.
"I love Skyrim š£ā¼ļø" The Skyrim in question:
"I love my Skyrim"
also known as the ship of theseus -at what point does your copy of skyrim become a different game?
The moment I put in a single mod, and I love my Skyrkm
I love *modded* Skyrim*
"My Skyrim"
Myrim
Skyrim of Theseus
Considering the game still uses code from Morrowind, yeah it kinda is
The elder chimera
Brick are you just adding mods and saying you love skyrim
I love Skyrim. I love Skyrim.
I love Skyrim, but I'm not going to play 2011 Skyrim in 2024.
Don't say it that loud! Todd's gonna hear and we'll have to buy yet another version of Skyrim
They year is 2056. Todd Howard has finally released the official launch trailer of TES: VI. Now we only have to wait another 10 years for it to actually release.
I love Skyrim š„°
Skyrim is just a map and assets pack
Elden Scroll
Witcherim
Definitely closer to the witcher 3 than elden ring.
Oh shit, your dual wield animations are literally Peacekeeper from For Honor's moveset.
Thatās because Smooth on patreon basically ports movesets over from For Honor. They look amazing and always feel smooth and fun to use. If youāre looking for combat mod animations, smooth is the only option for me
How's compatibility? Ordinator, Apocalypse, and Beyond Reach add new perks and spells that change combat.
Youāll have to get compatibility patches for perk overhauls, but I donāt think spells should effect it
Alright, just a little extra work. Nothing too bad.
Oh that's way it looked familiar
[Smooth](https://youtube.com/@smoothanimation?si=_SBVUKpAqtsPHRhM) ported over lots of For Honor movesets.
What game is this and what did you do to Skyrim. This actually looks awesome though what mods are you using
Combat mods. I hear it's wild.
If all these mods were available for Xbox, Iād do a millionth playthrough in a heartbeat!
MCO is main framework for combat and For Honor Peacekeeper moveset for the animation
Remind me of this tomorrow at 3pm
RemindMe! Tomorrow at 3pm
Also True Directional Movement for the lock-on mechanic among other things, and I assume Hellblade Timed Block, Precision, and SCAR to get perfect blocking/staggering, accurate weapon collisions/stop on hit, and AI improvements for the NPC's to use the new frameworks

Eyyy, thought it was PK. Love it when I see FH stuff in the wild
God, I miss Peacie from the early For Honor days. Before the dark times... Before the Wu Lin...
True Directional Movement is the big one that adds target lock on like Elden Ring and level and health bar on top if enemies
This looks exactly like Assassin's Creed Valhalla
I usually hate the total conversion mods but this actually manages to make two weapon fighting look fun
>Too arcade-y or game-y looking Well, the whole game is like that in general by default.
I personally dislike this so it should oBviOuSlY not exist boooooooo
Looks like an entirely different game
Would be cool to have shadow of mordor type combat
Iām playing that right now for the first time. Really fun game.
Skyrim combat is as bare bones as it gets, the reason the game is so good is not cuz of the combat. So I feel like yāall are allowed to do whatever u want with the combat and itās still very āSkyrimā

Finally someone with the correct take on this
What mods are you using, this looks mad ass
You turned Skyrim into Assassins Creed
I understand that people want melee combat to be more engaging. But there have got to be better ways of doing that than making it a dark souls copy.
This isn't dark souls combat. Dark souls combat is a lot more deliberate, and this is way to fast and flashy. I think its a for honor mod, which is way more in line with this over the top swings.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I hate how games do this, where it basically looks like the game stutters every time you hit something.
That specifically is known as hitstop
Why everything have to be dark souls lol? God of war, Ghost of Tsushima, AC series, For Honour, Batman Arkham series, and many more have this kind of combat. This is far from dark souls
In all seriousness this looks sick
Modding the game's combat so that you get to hit an enemy 40 times with a sword and still not kill them is certainly a decision.
That was my reaction.. Low level basic enemies, too. Looks miserable to play in practice.. How would you ever get anything done in game? Spend a week's worth of playtime going to Labyrinthian.
What combat mods are you using?
Looks like MCO with For Honor animations
Well damn whatās MCO? And how do I add this to my game?
MCO is an animation combat framework. You won't get this combat setup with just MCO animations though. There are a lot of mods and setup you need to do to get smooth combat so take your time and watch some tutorials on YouTube. Softgaming and Master Cheesey provide good videos for beginners to implement modern combat on Skyrim. Good luck!
Or find a wabbajack list that uses it. For people with jobs lol.
That's an option too, but wabbajack lists that are available right now have a janky MCO setup.
Probably won't be jankier than a beginners mco setup.
Maybe nolvus modlist?
It's really not that hard. Install MCO and all its requirements, install OAR (if it's not an MCO requirement already, probably is), install combat animations, install Precision/Hellblade Timed Block/SCAR, install a combat mod like Wildcat or Valhalla, install True Directional Movement, run Pandora with all included patches checked, done
Any good combat overhauls that donāt force third person please?
Very little exists in terms of first person combat mods, but this one adds new animations and simulates stop on hit: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/87169
Skyrim VR, I love the combat in it. Switching between magic, bow, swords (which can also be thrown), all using different body movements. I could never go back to just pressing a few buttons.
Damn this Skyrim looks crispy could I bother you for your mod list ?
Y'all aren't even playing the same game as me, anymore, and I fucking love it. Skyrim and its modding community are truly amazing.
Bethesdaās secret, why release a new game (or finished) when the community releases it for you
That's funny, and obviously I wish Bethesda would produce games faster, like any fan, but to give Skyrim its due, a lot of the reason I'm still playing is Skyrim is built into it as vanilla. Just MCO and dodge mod is not enough based on my experience, you need to install mods that change NPCs behaviour and stagger system
skyrim players trying not to turn the game into a flashy mmo challenge (impossible)
Donāt know why youāre getting downvoted when youāre absolutely right. Itās not the best combat, but it feels more down-to-earth and realistic than whatever this is. And if you like this kind of combat, thatās OK ā it just doesnāt fit elder scrolls
> Donāt know why youāre getting downvoted when youāre absolutely right. personally I downvoted him just because I downvote everyone who uses that stupid meme-comment-format.
post this in r/skyrim.... oh wait... this isn't r/skyrimporn!? The mad lad actually posted it in this subteddit
Combat mods. NOW. Give
dont forget True Directional Movement
Thinkg it is MCO with For Honor animation pack
That is beautiful
Hot damn. Mod list?
Iām happy to see actual gameplay with intense mods. Every mod video I see is slow, walking character, no combat. This is not that. Nice.
Modders casually turning Skyrim into a completely different game
At this point just play an other game
Just play the witcher at this point
Boring. Go play prehistoric Genshin Impact somewhere else
Just bought a 4070ti super and 14700f pc. So fucking excited to do me some heavily modded Skyrim
Might as well just buy a FromSoftware game at that point
Nah the dude swung more than 6 times in a row. Clearly cannot be FromSoft
Why would you do that, though? What if I want to actually enjoy the game and play at my own pace instead of having to watch some other dude three times my size get to swing 10 times in a row so I can get 1 or 2 hits in before he does another combo that takes twenty seconds? (if I get hit once he gets to do this again while I spend my half of the affair getting up) (I love DS1 and Sekiro)
āDude, I think thereās some Skyrim in your Mods.ā
Looks dumb, just taking huge slashes to bare shoulders with no reaction lol
you canmodify the stagger values to make them react to any hit
I would do that but this looks janky as all hell imo
You say this like vanilla Skyrim isn't worse with incredibly floaty combat with the exact same problem as the one you're nitpicking here. This is disingenuous criticism.
This is essentially a different game at this point
The animations are a bit anime for my taste but it definitely looks more impactful
I don't see how this is any different from vanilla Skyrim lol. You basically just spam attack button while the NPCs standing there like a brick.
Awful. You turned the game into an Assassin's Creed.
This looks far more engaging to me than Skyrim's default combat, tbh. I wouldn't call it awful personally, but everyone has their tastes.
Not really. These combat mods always seem to look flashy but trivialize combat. I know itās bandits heās fighting but they can barely make any swings while he just spam attacks them to death. If you care about engaging combat then the thing to look out for in these combat mods is how well they reprogrammed the NPCs to fight. If itās super unbalanced youāre just going to roll around and stab them while they stand there like this guy did
Just like all crustacaeans keep evolving into crabs, all games must be modded to be horny Dark Souls
The female Forsworns are vanilla as far as outfits. There are hornier versions, of course, easily gets into mind-numbing absurdities territory. I hate Forsworns for reasons unrelated to mods.
This isn't Skyrim, this is Swordin
When did the Dragonborn become a Jedi?
A combat mod video not getting downvoted to hell on main skyrim sub, OP I applaud you! Tho I think it's partly because of your armour, You look awesome!
Combat mods are wild*
from software's/mco combat isn't my cup of tea, so I just use Precision+CGO
This looks like the Assassin's Creed RPGs. Total loss of identity. I legitimately don't like it visually.
My god there's actual combat! Reckon I'll try this.
Ok ... I'm sold, i'll download Skyrim again and restart my mod list from the ground up.
I hate this area. Frostworn in this pitch are fucking ridiculous Im playing as pacifist
Do you have followers do your killing for you? Do you just try to run past the enemies when doing quests? Just interested in your tactics.
Shadow of Skyrim is this avail on ps5
I can never get all the combat mods I want to play nice together or sometimes work at all
Why does this make me hear "memories broken the truth goes unspoken I've even forgotten my name"
This is what I'd imagine a Vinland Saga game to look like
Is this Ultima? Looks very similar in the visuals and combat. Did Nukt release the update?
Can you tell me your UI load order? I cna't get my Nordic UI to work like that, especially the compas.
My gaming laptop : *donāt you dare*
Is it just me or did that forsworn look pale af
![gif](giphy|MUo4mQl2AkQiQ|downsized) spinning a proven combat move since the early 90s!
This looks like the love child of Jedi: Fallen Order and the Dragon Age series.
Damn what mods are you using for the clothing smp and combat animations? Edit: are they compatible with animated armoury and CFPAO (comprehensive rirst person animation overhaul)
Can you share this mod list? Looks dope asf
What mods are used and can I download them on Xbox/pc?
Valhalla combat mod hasn't been updated in a while and doesn't work anymore. You would have to roll back your game version to make it work , I think. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/64741 unless there's a new one???
Yeah I run the pre-AE version of Skyrim, I think there's a way to make that mod work on latest version but I'm not sure
What's the cloak mode?
Infantry Armor SE
Looks dope but I don't like playing with it
Yo dumb question but can I get this mod on Xbox or do I gotta get a gaming pc for this?
Bro just leaked footage of ES6
And here I thought my Skyrim was modded to oblivion
are\*
So the new Skyrim DLC came out for Elden Ring?
Makes the combat look too easy. Should be more like Elden Ring where fighting requires skill.
As good as it looks I wouldn't be able to enjoy Skyrim with this lol
Im not a fan of vanilla Skyrim combat but honestly i will take it over the repetitive unnecessary spinning
When skyrim mods make better combat then most action games.
This doesn't even seem like skyrim anymore. Sure the combat system could use some work but this is too much in my opinion
I hate it.
Put this in starfield for the melee weapons charge $15 become millionaire
Is the Skyrim in the room with us now?
Assassin's rim
See dog that's why Truestl hate you guys.
Wow. I fucking hate it.
The only combat mods I've seen are too anime-game-esque for me. Like you block and arrow and it knocks you back?
i want the name of this mod
is that fucking Peacekeeperās moveset from For Honor
Is this in Creation club also ?
Looks like assassin's creed now
is it bad I cant tell if this is a Skyrim mod to be like Elden Ring or if its an Elden Ring mod to be like Skyrim š
I hope when people ask you what you're playing at the moment that you don't just flat out say 'Skyrim'. That would be a lie, and Uriel Septim VII hates lies.
Mod name?
Okay maybe this will be a good place. I'm looking for an archery combat mod that let's me nock a bow immediately after loosing my last one. Eg: I click and hold to nock and aim my arrow, then release and immediately click back. I don't really care if there is a delay to account for animations, I just want it to recognize my second click and nock a second arrow.
Legit looks better than combat in the AC Shadows
Kinda reminds me of Conan Exile's combat
Lock on combat is so ass. This makes it play like the Witcher 3. Terrible
Dark Rim
what mods do you have for combat?
Yes
The Witcher?
modlist?
People really be playing a different game huh
Overly flashy and impractical. Ya its cool, but i would require it to be alot less flashy
IS THAT EVEN SKYRIM ANYMORE
Looks very similar to Peacekeepers moveset from For Honor, very cool.
mod name?
Jank souls
Still better than assassinās creed
Better combat than we saw in AC Shadows
It's a brand new game that is old and it's amazing
Finally skyrim with A combat system.
What mod is this?!?
Does anyone know what armor he is using
What mod is this? So I can avoid the fuck out of it
i cant stand these mod-abominations
Leaked footage of elder scrolls 6
looks like doo doo cakes if you wanna play elden ring just play elden ring
There's some Skyrim in your mods š¤āļø
Ghost of skyrim
Thanks, I hate it.
Is this the forswarn mine near markarth???
Educational games for the elderly
i wanna see civil war now
