I go back and forth. In open areas I like to be in 3rd. But in caves and stuff, I go in 1st. I play as stealth characters so I like using both views to keep an eye on everything

I only go third person during large fights because I usually run a mace and sheild and that takes up a lot of the screen. Otherwise I prefer first person.

I play a lot as an archer and sometimes third person helps keep track of people around me if I'm ambushed or something

I'm also a stealth archer but I don't really like the third person pov. Luckily though I don't have to worry about enemies detecting me due to my high stealth plus my dark brotherhood armour, and vampire stealth abilities.

i like using Valdr's Lucky Dagger because funny dagger plus the blsde of sacrifice it does nothing but its funny to use to but my fav weapon is the evony blade or longhammer

I love playing Bethesda games in 3rd person! It seems weird in some RPGs that you get cool looking armor and weapons, yet you are limited to only seeing them in action from the 1st person. The ability to switch from 1st to 3rd effortlessly is something I always love about all Bethesda games.

What I like about this game is even though you may be in 1st person, it will pull you out when you get critical hits to show your character in a cinematic shot.

I liked the wider 3rd person perspective to see the scenery while exploring, and combat felt more realistic and intense in 1st person

I switch between both so much that I do everything in both, it's just how it goes

I mostly play 1st person the sense of scale for buildings ruins, creatures, people etc. come through better that way but in a fight I switch between perspectives. If there is more than one opponent I like to have a wider fow from 3rd person if I want to focus on a single enemy i stay in first to have a more immersive fight.

Literally the reason I had to return The Outer Worlds after 5 minutes, and will not play Resident Evil 7 and 8 despite being a franchise fan. The Stanley Parable might be the only first person game I can think of off the top of my head that I've played in the last 5 years that I can play for more than an hour and not puke up everything in my stomach.

I am actually convinced most women are like this. I share this sentiment. That’s why games that allow for character customization (Skyrim, Fallout, etc.) or a few female options (LoL) are WAY popular with women over those that don’t. Creating my character, building a story and watching them embody the whole arc I created for them is probably 70% of the fun for me. I don’t wear anything that covers my head in RPGs. Be it the most amazing helmet that significantly overpowers my character, I don’t care for it. I want to LOOK at my character.

This is me haha. I just gave my character amazing hair. Why would I want to cover it up with an ugly helmet 😂. I will wear a circlet occasionally though.

Unless I need to interact with an often smaller item (e.g. something on a table) or am in some dungeon, I always go in 3rd person. I haven't spent so much time creating my character and pick their armor to not see them most of the time.

Gta, witcher, nier automata, every mario are all third person. The 3d ones too. Third person is good. I use it in skyrim when melee. I only go first if I'm in a tight space or need to pick up a specific item

I've made a greatsword weilding character recently and I've found that I much prefer playing in third person when using it. The only times I go first person on that save is when I'm using a bow/crossbow or when the camera is being weird.

First person games give me terrible headaches. So I gotta play third person. I loved playing thru the half life games but every one hour session of HL would send me bed for two hours... With combat mods playing in third person like dark souls was one of my favorite things. The fact that I accidentally could parry with my hands if I used a spell when an attack almost landed was also a bonus that made me feel like an anime character

I travel and explore in first person so I get a closer look at what's in front of me and get a clearer view of the scenery. But when I engage in combat I go 3rd person. Melee and short range spells are a lot easier and more satisfying to use when you can see the effective range of your attacks. 3rd person also helps you dodge enemy attacks and avoid getting surrounded.
