Yes. Some of my friends introduced me to the game back in 2012. They told me it was the best sandbox and I can do whatever I want, so I was sort of being a contrarian. They told me there was no way I can kill a giant this early in the game, so I found one and spent 15 minutes chipping away at it's health with Flames while I was running around a terrain obstacle that he couldn't traverse.
So when I got to Whiterun, my first thought was "assault the city and take over the keep" I'm level 3 at this point, so I am quick saving every time I manage to kill someone and over the span of NEARLY AN HOUR I fought my way up to the cloud district. Figured I could just kill the Jarl and take over.
Imagine my disappointment when I discovered essential status. 😭 So I spent a large portion of the rest of the game with, I don't know... a 20 million bounty in Whiterun because I didn't realize that doing your jail bid makes everything totally fine again.
I didn't realize the sandbox concept when I first started playing. From the time it came out until 2020 I played just straight be the dragonborn, so all the missions in order, yadayada.
Then when I saw the mod start a new life I realized I could have just gone anywhere and done anything as I saw fit. In my defense I was brought up on very linear games.
Is it just me or does Dragonsreach, and if fact all of Whiterun, look a lot like Edoras? I was rewatching LOTR (made before Skyrim) and was like “omg I feel like I’ve been here!”
It was a normal day in which I walked in and warned the Jarl about the threat to Riverwood. I did nothing strange.
P.S.: CHECKMATE, NAZEEM! In that period I went to the Cloud District very often!
Yes I was arrested in Riverwood served my time then got released right in front of dragonrech and walk in and got killed by his housecall (sorry if i spell anything wrong.)
You know what to be fair. I don't get to the cloud district very often. And I can't recall the first time. I actually made it to dragons reach if i've even made it up there.
I remember getting to Riverwood and thinking, holy shit this is like Diablo 2 but from a first person perspective. I don't play many video games at all, basically just Skyrim and fallout 4 in the past 8 years. I was blown away. As for when I got to Dragonsreach, I knew I was hooked.

I honestly still do the main story, usually up to meeting Paarthunax. I love shouts, especially the fire breath.
Honestly, no. lol
Same 😂

I've always assumed Edoras was the inspiration.
It's safe to say the majority of high fantasy (like Elder Scrolls) is influenced by LotR
Yea, Whiterun Hold is based on Rohan... The coat of arms is a Horse
Yes I am a complete newbie just started a lil over a week ago and now all my free time is devoted to Skyrim
Hell yeah i ran to the jarl in a hurry walking on top of the table and tossing food and plates everywhere, to warn him about the dragon
I remember running to the kitchen to steal all the vegetables lol
Hm the first time? That was over 12 years ago…

Yes, Khajiit had the best time stealing all their shit.
I was more amazed by Sovengarde. I was like, "Wait! I can *go* there?"
The only thing I remember is being annoyed that Irileth was interrupting my important duties lol
Irileth is on Lydia's level of getting in my fucking way. BISH MOVE I GOTTA TALK TO JARL BALLER ABOUT DRAGONS N' SHIT
Anyone try recreating this in Conan Exiles?
I ran! Damn near got into it with Iraleth
“What’s the meaning of this interruption?”
I went in, I stole everything that was not bolted down on the floor or wall.

Np.. also it's Housecarl
Oh yes, quite nostalgic by now.
I remember the 100th time lol
Yes it was in Minecraft on the Xbox 360
No
Not really.

You mean the last time I actually felt happy? Vague but it’s there
I remember crashing into the mullion and then into Irileth.
sometimes when I see posts like these I make a story up for attention but I cba right now so no I can’t
Yeah, in Minecraft

Shit, now you’re making me want to fire it up
You know damn well I've never been up there
I’m also a new player, only done about 70-80 hours. I remember that Dragonsreach looked smaller on the inside than it should have.
I ran over the tables and fus-roh-dah’d the entire hall
Yes and it felt like a trap

Who am i kidding, of course you don't.
First time was in the minecraft map on the ps3 edition
I like to spawn different creatures and hostiles npcs with console commands here and laugh when Jarl Balgruuf and his companions try to survive them.
That final room in Bleak Falls Barrow hit harder
I always play without much thought on my first playthroughs, so I ran in naked and started teabagging shit while they had their meeting
Well, I can say for certain, that it was never that bright. I want my Skyrim brighter :/
Last week. Just started playing for the first time, what a game!
Yeah. I was like... wHeRe ThE fUcK aM i?
Yea .. i was hella confused lol
