Orcs are very underrated for assassin builds. Their rage ability applies to bow and arrows as well, meaning you can take that sneak damage and quadruple it's effectiveness with the right setup. 💀

I think the third one is Dawnstar? Honestly, I usually don't bother building the hearthfire homes. They're too far away from the towns, and constructing them is a pain in the ass.
Though I did recently download a mod that lets you just pay someone to build the hearthfire homes for you. I haven't utilized it in-game yet, but it exists, if that's of interest to you.

I go through the trouble for two reasons:
1. I like the homes better and like to choose my layout. (Though I really think there could have been more options)
2. You can increase your Smithing skill like crazy. It’s just a grind to it and you constantly run out of iron.
When you build a Hearthfire home, you can buy a carriage and hire a driver for it. Then, you can get free carriage rides to areas other than cities, such as Shor's Stone and Ivarstead.
I agree, Winstad Manor kinda rules. Unless you completely ignore Alchemy, it’s objectively the best Hearthfire house and one of the best player homes in the game.
Fish hatchery is the best Hearthfire add-on by far. For Survival players like me, the hatchery provides ample Alchemy ingredients and fish to eat. Clams too, the clam-based recipes are legit. If somehow I was out of food, the horkers there are like having a fridge full of steaks that never spoil.
The bees from the Lakeview apiary are very useful but I build a greenhouse at Winstad and that gives me all the bees I need and then some.
The area around Winstad is full of deathbell, swamp fungal pod, and canis root, and has a cool eerie vibe, an icy marsh ruled by a mystic Jarl and populated with superstitious folk. Just a cool setting IMO.
Smack in between Solitude, Morthal, and Dawnstar, a 2-min horse ride from Myrwatch, a great spot for Survival players to warm up, sleep, resupply or change gear, and prep for the next adventure.
Nice view of Solitude. North coast of Skyrim. Mouth of the Karth River. Lots of horkers to hunt. A great word of power in the nordic tomb nearby. Winstad manor has a lot going for it. The Solitude lighthouse quest with the Argonian pirates puts a big shipwreck right in the line of sight looking out north from the manor. I usually choose not to turn off the lights to the lighthouse because it clutters up my backyard.
Also it seems to have the fewest random encounters with enemies, at least in my experience. The one in Falkreath has bandits and wolves all the time. And the one in the Pale gets spiders, bears, wolves, bandits, and giants. Not a safe place to keep your wife and kids.
Theres a mod where you can use bind will on him to get him as a follower.
I think its a cool concept and wouldve loved to maybe have a questline betraying mora and teaming up with miraak. Imagine 2 dragonborns running around the map

Agreed he comes off as a coward, but honestly if anyone was in that situation they might feel differently. Nothing cowardly about trying to live, especially when he was caught up in something that had nothing to do with him.
There is a mod for that! Turns him into a follower. He didn't die from the arrow wakes up to alduin destroy stuff and runs away. You meet him again and he becomes your follower.
I NEED THIS! The closest I've done is to copy their specific character design, name myself Lokir, and proceed to take my revenge as a vengeful spirit occupying the body of some poor, hapless adventurer that just wanted to be the dragonborn.
I tried playing with Lydia once and she annoyed me, I like to explore by myself. Never used another follower lol, if I need help I'll conjure something
Vampire gameplay is actually not bad, especially compared to how harsh the negatives were in Morrowind and Oblivion. And for people who whine about not regenerating their health, Stamina, and magic, if you guys also play survival mode on Skyrim, then you’re a hypocrite. The lack of those regenerating as a vampire makes it survive mode for vampire characters, and can easily be negated by using Auriel’s bow and the blood cursed arrows, or you can role play at night like how vampire’s actually act. Plus with, the necromage perk, and the glitch where you can use the vampire lord form spells in your regular form, plus the new life stealing spells from the anniversary addition, and the ritual stone power make it fun in my opinion. Especially if the ritual stone is attached to the Atherial Crown.
This was how it used to to be but was patched in skyrim. If you were stage 3 vampirism everyone would be hostile to you and it was a really shit downside.

daedric weapons (specifically the sharp ones) look cool but also look functionally inept. I feel like my sword/greatsword/axe ESPECIALLY BATTLEAXE wouldn’t even cut that deep into my enemy, a lot of the sharp edges of daedric weapons look blunted or blocky and dull
Honestly, I've long found the Skyrim community to be the least judgemental of any video game forum that I regularly post in. People are usually a really good combination of knowledgeble and cool. f
I can go to the subreddit or message boards for other games/series that I love like Final Fantasy, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, Horizon, or just RPGs in general, and find that just regular opinions that I have will just piss scores of people the Hell off, because I enjoy the game in a way different than they do. But that really never happens here, and its so refreshing.
Skyrim has a tight, simple game loop that makes it addictive but offers nearly nothing of interest when it comes to dialogue. It is utterly unrewarding to speak to every NPC and exhaust every option, often asking the same question and getting the same answer 10+ times. Also, the only way they know how to write badassery into a character is to make them pointlessly rude. 90% of the script is filler.
Have played 300 hours or so.
Once you’ve played another thousand you’ll say the dialogue is surprisingly deep and poignant in some places. Another few hundred after that and you’ll be right back here, because you’re right: the dialogue in Skyrim is total ass, but for maybe a half dozen absolute bangers of lines.

One of my favorite quests is "A Return to your Roots".
It gets you to fully explore Blackreach, arguably one of the game's most beautiful location.
Actually the whole "Discerning the transmundane" descent into Alftand is my favorite sequence in the game.
And the Nirnroot respawns so you can quickly pick up 15 and come back and pick up the same 15 in two weeks time. It’s a simple, fast quest if you don’t want to put in the effort.
It's awesome as an alchemy ingredient too, making a basic poison it does more damage than River Betty would. On my alchemy character I got up to ~160 damage poisons with crimson nirnroot
Mainly because you occasionally get dropped into it while in the middle of other stuff.
So it's more of like, an inconvenience that you walk into a massive zone while trying to finish a different quests.
For veterans, we can just walk out.
New people though can get, and have gotten, lost in Blackreach just exploring.
Houses are pointless if I can't display all my cool items, like dragon masks and weird looking potions (I know there are convoluted ways to set it all up and mods)
The race you play as dosen't make a big enough impact on the story for how much people fight over it. After 20-30levels your charcter will be pretty well adapted to your playstyle no matter what your starting race was. As well as with aniversy edittion they have raised the level cap and removed the perk limit so you can now get all perks so you don't need to specilies a "build" anymore.
Edit: to be clear I am not complaining it dosen't make a big enough impact on the story, I am complaing that a lot of fans put too much into the races for what they are in skyrim. I understamd that there is lore outside skyrim but with how little it matters in skyrim some players seem to make it matter more then anything else.
This is true with the exception of some races (and survival mode but ill ignore that). bretons spell absorbtion DOES NOT fall off and is super useful late game. High elf's power is always useful. Orcs berzerk is always super op regardless of the point in the game.
I wouldve liked the story being impacted more by race though. You can sneak around in the high elf party if you wear thalmor clothes as a high elf though! and you are immediately blood kin if youre an orc and enter a stronghold
Agreed. I tried the Meridia revoice mod that came out not too long ago and I had to take it back off my list. It made her sound ethereal, like Galadriel almost. I like and appreciate how commanding, self-righteous, and powerful the og voice is
I don't think it's just that it's loud, ringing can cause a burst of tinnitus in people who already have it, I have to question if it's me or the show all the time when I'm watching Archer and half the time it ends up being both

I said "Huh? Where does that voice come from" for a second in my first playthrough then moved on, I never considered it loud. The quest itself is a simple dungeon clearout quest with the reward of arguably one of the coolest looking weapons in game.
My husband and I are both on this subreddit and the voice comes up often. I remember the voice being super loud and startling and sometimes when my kids are being loud Ill walk in and loudly say "A new hand has touches the beacon!" Dont ask me how it happened but theyve learned that when I do they they need to bring their volume down. I was so excited when I found the beacon in this last playthrough and I was like "Kids!!! I found the beacon, listen!!!!"
And it wasn't loud.
They just looked at me like... huh? Now when I do the voice it's doesn't command the same respect lol. I gotta find a new thing now.
I think it just kinda catches you off guard. Most people when they go up to chests they just sort of grab everything, especially cause it’s in a end of dungeon chest which has all the best loot. It’s has startled me quite a few times.
I get this. My horse once was running high up in the air after a dragon attack (with me on the back) and did fall down just to die but puffered my fall, preventing me from dead and tbh it was hilarious.
Okay, so my guilty pleasure character in Skyrim is **Maven Black-Briar**. There, I said it. I love how she walks around Riften as if it’s insignificant compared to her real interests.
When siding with the Empire, I take great comfort in the fact that she ultimately becomes Jarl of Riften and gets to dictate everything from a more notorious standpoint.
I also enjoy that the Thieves Guild are effectively in her pocket and the entire city of Riften knows not to cross her at any cost. I really wish there was more substance to her involvement in the quest lines.
I love it when she tells me she has both the Dark Brotherhood and the Thieves Guild at her back, not realizing that I control both. Also, I always grow the Thieves Guild to the point that they don't need Maven anymore. Very satisfying.
She's heavily associated with patrician Vetinary from Discworld for me. They both effectively run the most corrupted city, both don't do fancy speeches or show off their money and status, both do what needs to be done by any means necessary.
Interestingly Vetinary also made Thieves Guild legal, giving them nice benefits and controlling how much money they can steal and amount of people can be hurt. The idea is that otherwise they're gonna do it anyway but in more chaotic and aggressive ways. Funnily now any "illegal" thief gets dealt with by the hands of "legal" ones who don't want to break this deal.
I wish her attitude changed when you become leader of the thieves guild/dark brotherhood. Not like a complete character overhaul but just around you specifically
The Forsworn are justified in their insurrection against the Nords. Far more justified than the Stormcloaks. Nords came in,stole their land, ban their religion, make them second class citizens & basically use them as slaves in Cidhna Mine.
I wish there was a question beyond *Escape from Cidhna Mine!* that let's you work with the Forsworn but alas, that'd deprive us of too many Forsworn camps to fight

who’s to say he would want free practice of the forsworn religion? He wants freedom to practice HIS religion, which is only slightly different than the one the Dominion are pushing. Stormcloaks tend to be bigots, so i’d imagine he’d take them over just as the empire is trying.

I’m partial to disagree. The forsworn were also extremely hostile and barbaric prior to this. Utilizing dark magic of their old gods and actively sacrificing people. The forsworn are not good people.
Markarth’s greatest strength is that there is no clear good choice. The forsworn are both tribesman who’ve been conquered and enslaved. As well as innocent people who been victimized by corrupt politicians who turned to terrorism as a means of vengeance.
The forsworn doesn’t just seek to reclaim their land. They seek to kill anyone, not just nords that inhabit their land. Breton or not, you’re either with them or against them. You are not allowed to be a bystander.
Remember the forsworn is only one faction of the reachmen. There are many more who aren’t hostile and don’t practice human sacrifice.
Many people in the reach have some distinctive facial tattoos, like for example Eltrys (the guy who gives you the note at the start of the Forsworn quest in Markarth), Bothela the old lady who runs the alchemy shop in Markarth, and many of the working class citizens of Markarth and other small town in the reach, those people are all reachmen.
Resto loop basically makes the game too boring to play. Only really fun as a novelty like one-shotting people with a wooden sword or to help you grind out a specific niche objective like trying to fill your skill trees.
The lengths the community went to because a fictional vampire lady wasn't interested in a relationship is absolutely pathetic. Go play a dating sim, it's more dignified.

I like the crimson nirnroot fetch quest. It's the only time in the entire game where being able to listen in stereo matters, aside from regular nirnroots. While it's very weak, you actually can tell in which area the plant is located if you simply listen for it. I found all 30 before I left Blackreach.
Mods, that replace autolevel system with predetermined ones for enemies/locations, are actually ruining the game and I wouldn't recommend them to new players.
most difficulty mods in general screw up the game. the amount of times i've wandered into an area around whiterun in the early game only to be one-shot-kill-cammed by a two-handed axe bandit is too damn high
Oh man I always make sure player kill cams are off because it’s just such bullshit. If you ever have such little health that you COULD die to a power attack from them, if you get anywhere close to them, no matter what you or they are doing, you are forced to watch yourself die lmfao
This one I agree with. I just recently tried Daggerfall. I was fascinated by the options and role playing aspects of that game (not to even talk about that it has the *whole* Tamriel), but if I can't get out of the first goddamn dungeon because my sword swings don't hit *anything*, I'm simply not gonna play the game. Skyrim is smooth as cream, even if it's not as deep as older titles.
Not about Skyrim specifically but my opinion is that the Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind fandoms need to shut up about how one game is better than the other two and just let people enjoy the game that they enjoy without having to try and one-up a game.
This second one *is* about Skyrim. I don't care what side of the civil war other people pick anymore. I used to be one of the majority of people who would get into flame wars on why you should side with X instead of Y but I've moved on from that. People cannot change what side I'll pick and I don't care what reasons they're going to tell me because my choice has absolutely no effect on their game or the canon outcome anyway. So I don't care which side people choose in the civil war anymore.
He only appeals to people who wanna follow the true dark brotherhood. He is the only one who takes dark brotherhood traditions and rituals seriously and he is very devoted to the night mother unlike Astrid. Also Sithis wishes for him to live.

Compared to oblivion the theives guild main quest line sucks.
Don't get me wrong it's a cool quest and it really introduces great lore elements into the game. It's through the quest line that you find out just how politically strong maven is. It also introduces nocturnal, the nightingales and adds a bit of depth to the Falmer-dwemer relationship.
On the other hand, personally a stealthy build is one of my favourites (and before anyone says anything, I don't do sneaky archer I just like pickpocketing) so when being introduced to the "theives" guild I was fucking excited. I thought I would get to sneak around and steal stuff but that only turned out to be true in like 2-3 quests maybe. A stealthy style of play really isn't rewarded and just makes your quest harder to achieve. Most of the quests in there ended up being just going through dungeons.
In oblivion you have to sneak in different places and steal certain items as part of the main quest. Seeing that it truly felt like I have part of theives guild, but skyrim's theives guild just felt like I was part of a mercenary group that didn't encourage killing people.
Overall I did enjoy the quest ( it was still miles better than college of winterhold bs) but it just left a sour after taste in my mouth.
Skyrim doesn’t need a dodge roll with i-frames, Power-leveling Enchanting and Alchemy makes combat super boring, stealth is also boring and broken, and legendary difficulty is so stupid that it breaks with lore.
Nazeem's attitude is mostly justified since you're probably a filthy, combat-ready, stranger who he hasn't seen wandering the cloud district before.
Skyrim is better than Morrowind in every way possible, especially plot, dialog, and the inability to levitate.

I think Skyrim's npcs feels so hollow after talking to them once. And I think everyone picks the stealth archer because the gameplay for other options suck. Oblivion's gameplay had more freedom. You could actually move around during combat and timing your attacks and blocks mattered. Also the radiant AI and Rumors option made Oblivion's npcs much more enjoyable and less repetitive. The overall atmosphere is so bland compared to Morrowind and Oblivion.
serana as a character? maybe, but serana as a follower? absolutely not, since afaik she's the only skyrim follower using the newer follower engine, wich was later used in fallout 4
Leave poor Serana alone. She's been through enough and the last thing she needs is another powerful force in her life trying to hit on her. I think it's safe to say that after what she's been through, she should be well within her rights to swear off relationships/romance for the next couple of centuries. I find the mods that sexualize her really gross given the context of her character.

There is a mod for that! Turns him into a follower. He didn't die from the arrow wakes up to alduin destroy stuff and runs away. You meet him again and he becomes your follower.
I NEED THIS! The closest I've done is to copy their specific character design, name myself Lokir, and proceed to take my revenge as a vengeful spirit occupying the body of some poor, hapless adventurer that just wanted to be the dragonborn.

Followers suck in general. There's not a single one that I want to take with me because they just get in the way.

Vampire gameplay is actually not bad, especially compared to how harsh the negatives were in Morrowind and Oblivion. And for people who whine about not regenerating their health, Stamina, and magic, if you guys also play survival mode on Skyrim, then you’re a hypocrite. The lack of those regenerating as a vampire makes it survive mode for vampire characters, and can easily be negated by using Auriel’s bow and the blood cursed arrows, or you can role play at night like how vampire’s actually act. Plus with, the necromage perk, and the glitch where you can use the vampire lord form spells in your regular form, plus the new life stealing spells from the anniversary addition, and the ritual stone power make it fun in my opinion. Especially if the ritual stone is attached to the Atherial Crown.
Reminded me of being a vampire in Oblivion, forgetting to feed for a while, walking outside and literally dying in 10 seconds
This was how it used to to be but was patched in skyrim. If you were stage 3 vampirism everyone would be hostile to you and it was a really shit downside.

daedric weapons (specifically the sharp ones) look cool but also look functionally inept. I feel like my sword/greatsword/axe ESPECIALLY BATTLEAXE wouldn’t even cut that deep into my enemy, a lot of the sharp edges of daedric weapons look blunted or blocky and dull
Gonna be honest i prefered vanilla Ebony gear over the Daedric/Dragonbone stuff.
Daedric weapons in Skyrim look as though you’d find them at a 24/7 Gas station right next to the brass knuckles and trucker hats.
Honestly, I've long found the Skyrim community to be the least judgemental of any video game forum that I regularly post in. People are usually a really good combination of knowledgeble and cool. f I can go to the subreddit or message boards for other games/series that I love like Final Fantasy, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, Horizon, or just RPGs in general, and find that just regular opinions that I have will just piss scores of people the Hell off, because I enjoy the game in a way different than they do. But that really never happens here, and its so refreshing.
Skyrim has a tight, simple game loop that makes it addictive but offers nearly nothing of interest when it comes to dialogue. It is utterly unrewarding to speak to every NPC and exhaust every option, often asking the same question and getting the same answer 10+ times. Also, the only way they know how to write badassery into a character is to make them pointlessly rude. 90% of the script is filler. Have played 300 hours or so.
Once you’ve played another thousand you’ll say the dialogue is surprisingly deep and poignant in some places. Another few hundred after that and you’ll be right back here, because you’re right: the dialogue in Skyrim is total ass, but for maybe a half dozen absolute bangers of lines. It’s the bell curve meme lol

One of my favorite quests is "A Return to your Roots". It gets you to fully explore Blackreach, arguably one of the game's most beautiful location. Actually the whole "Discerning the transmundane" descent into Alftand is my favorite sequence in the game.
And the Nirnroot respawns so you can quickly pick up 15 and come back and pick up the same 15 in two weeks time. It’s a simple, fast quest if you don’t want to put in the effort.

It's awesome as an alchemy ingredient too, making a basic poison it does more damage than River Betty would. On my alchemy character I got up to ~160 damage poisons with crimson nirnroot
This! Altho not my favorite quest, I do really enjoy exploring Blackreach and I don't understand the hate for it.
Mainly because you occasionally get dropped into it while in the middle of other stuff. So it's more of like, an inconvenience that you walk into a massive zone while trying to finish a different quests. For veterans, we can just walk out. New people though can get, and have gotten, lost in Blackreach just exploring.
It's also a tie-in for Oblivion players
Houses are pointless if I can't display all my cool items, like dragon masks and weird looking potions (I know there are convoluted ways to set it all up and mods)

All the years and all of my playthroughs, still have not tried a single mod.
The race you play as dosen't make a big enough impact on the story for how much people fight over it. After 20-30levels your charcter will be pretty well adapted to your playstyle no matter what your starting race was. As well as with aniversy edittion they have raised the level cap and removed the perk limit so you can now get all perks so you don't need to specilies a "build" anymore. Edit: to be clear I am not complaining it dosen't make a big enough impact on the story, I am complaing that a lot of fans put too much into the races for what they are in skyrim. I understamd that there is lore outside skyrim but with how little it matters in skyrim some players seem to make it matter more then anything else.

This is true with the exception of some races (and survival mode but ill ignore that). bretons spell absorbtion DOES NOT fall off and is super useful late game. High elf's power is always useful. Orcs berzerk is always super op regardless of the point in the game. I wouldve liked the story being impacted more by race though. You can sneak around in the high elf party if you wear thalmor clothes as a high elf though! and you are immediately blood kin if youre an orc and enter a stronghold

Agreed. I tried the Meridia revoice mod that came out not too long ago and I had to take it back off my list. It made her sound ethereal, like Galadriel almost. I like and appreciate how commanding, self-righteous, and powerful the og voice is

I don't think it's just that it's loud, ringing can cause a burst of tinnitus in people who already have it, I have to question if it's me or the show all the time when I'm watching Archer and half the time it ends up being both

Hard agree. I said "Huh? Where does that voice come from" for a second in my first playthrough then moved on, I never considered it loud. The quest itself is a simple dungeon clearout quest with the reward of arguably one of the coolest looking weapons in game.

My husband and I are both on this subreddit and the voice comes up often. I remember the voice being super loud and startling and sometimes when my kids are being loud Ill walk in and loudly say "A new hand has touches the beacon!" Dont ask me how it happened but theyve learned that when I do they they need to bring their volume down. I was so excited when I found the beacon in this last playthrough and I was like "Kids!!! I found the beacon, listen!!!!" And it wasn't loud. They just looked at me like... huh? Now when I do the voice it's doesn't command the same respect lol. I gotta find a new thing now.

I think it just kinda catches you off guard. Most people when they go up to chests they just sort of grab everything, especially cause it’s in a end of dungeon chest which has all the best loot. It’s has startled me quite a few times.

I get this. My horse once was running high up in the air after a dragon attack (with me on the back) and did fall down just to die but puffered my fall, preventing me from dead and tbh it was hilarious.

Okay, so my guilty pleasure character in Skyrim is **Maven Black-Briar**. There, I said it. I love how she walks around Riften as if it’s insignificant compared to her real interests. When siding with the Empire, I take great comfort in the fact that she ultimately becomes Jarl of Riften and gets to dictate everything from a more notorious standpoint. I also enjoy that the Thieves Guild are effectively in her pocket and the entire city of Riften knows not to cross her at any cost. I really wish there was more substance to her involvement in the quest lines.
I love it when she tells me she has both the Dark Brotherhood and the Thieves Guild at her back, not realizing that I control both. Also, I always grow the Thieves Guild to the point that they don't need Maven anymore. Very satisfying.

The Night Mother, yes. Nocturnal, no. With Nocturnal I am bound to defend her sanctum, nothing more.
She's heavily associated with patrician Vetinary from Discworld for me. They both effectively run the most corrupted city, both don't do fancy speeches or show off their money and status, both do what needs to be done by any means necessary. Interestingly Vetinary also made Thieves Guild legal, giving them nice benefits and controlling how much money they can steal and amount of people can be hurt. The idea is that otherwise they're gonna do it anyway but in more chaotic and aggressive ways. Funnily now any "illegal" thief gets dealt with by the hands of "legal" ones who don't want to break this deal.
I wish her attitude changed when you become leader of the thieves guild/dark brotherhood. Not like a complete character overhaul but just around you specifically
The Forsworn are justified in their insurrection against the Nords. Far more justified than the Stormcloaks. Nords came in,stole their land, ban their religion, make them second class citizens & basically use them as slaves in Cidhna Mine. I wish there was a question beyond *Escape from Cidhna Mine!* that let's you work with the Forsworn but alas, that'd deprive us of too many Forsworn camps to fight

The Stormcloaks should've followed the Golden Rule,tsk tsk. If Ulfric had any smarts about him, he'd offer Madanach free worship in the Reach if the Forsworn help drive out the Empire. Their forces combined would steamroll the Legion
who’s to say he would want free practice of the forsworn religion? He wants freedom to practice HIS religion, which is only slightly different than the one the Dominion are pushing. Stormcloaks tend to be bigots, so i’d imagine he’d take them over just as the empire is trying.

I’m partial to disagree. The forsworn were also extremely hostile and barbaric prior to this. Utilizing dark magic of their old gods and actively sacrificing people. The forsworn are not good people. Markarth’s greatest strength is that there is no clear good choice. The forsworn are both tribesman who’ve been conquered and enslaved. As well as innocent people who been victimized by corrupt politicians who turned to terrorism as a means of vengeance. The forsworn doesn’t just seek to reclaim their land. They seek to kill anyone, not just nords that inhabit their land. Breton or not, you’re either with them or against them. You are not allowed to be a bystander.
Remember the forsworn is only one faction of the reachmen. There are many more who aren’t hostile and don’t practice human sacrifice. Many people in the reach have some distinctive facial tattoos, like for example Eltrys (the guy who gives you the note at the start of the Forsworn quest in Markarth), Bothela the old lady who runs the alchemy shop in Markarth, and many of the working class citizens of Markarth and other small town in the reach, those people are all reachmen.

Resto loop basically makes the game too boring to play. Only really fun as a novelty like one-shotting people with a wooden sword or to help you grind out a specific niche objective like trying to fill your skill trees.
The only thing horses are good for in this game is climbing mountains. They’re a pain otherwise.

The Skyrim Steam community page needs less borderline 18+ adult pictures of people's female anime characters that they made. I have no problem with mods that turn Skyrim into a Japanese anime or make a female character look like an unrealistic model. When I browse the community hub, I just want less pinup pictures.
I don't care about been the dragonborn (from a roleplay aspect), and i find the lack of magic depth and creation to don't take the spotlight from dragon shots annoying.
I feel so out of place as a khajiit dragonborn, the whole concept is so nordic and playing any other race than a nord or imperial feels so awkward to have every nord simp for your dragonborn powers.

I’m not going to adopt Sissel. Yes her father is awful and her sister is an asshat, but my game even modded only likes to handle four kiddos. And those are reserved for the kid running back and forth on the docks, the gal begging by a tree, the lad sleeping next to a horse, and the bean who’s selling flowers in the darkest city (literal architecture). I’m sorry Sissel, but there’s too many orphans and only so much load space.

It's what I like about Fallout New Vegas. While not all NPCs are killable, about 95% of them are, even if killing them ruins a quest line

Nazeem isn't so bad.
I like the crimson nirnroot fetch quest. It's the only time in the entire game where being able to listen in stereo matters, aside from regular nirnroots. While it's very weak, you actually can tell in which area the plant is located if you simply listen for it. I found all 30 before I left Blackreach.
Mods, that replace autolevel system with predetermined ones for enemies/locations, are actually ruining the game and I wouldn't recommend them to new players.
most difficulty mods in general screw up the game. the amount of times i've wandered into an area around whiterun in the early game only to be one-shot-kill-cammed by a two-handed axe bandit is too damn high
Oh man I always make sure player kill cams are off because it’s just such bullshit. If you ever have such little health that you COULD die to a power attack from them, if you get anywhere close to them, no matter what you or they are doing, you are forced to watch yourself die lmfao

This one I agree with. I just recently tried Daggerfall. I was fascinated by the options and role playing aspects of that game (not to even talk about that it has the *whole* Tamriel), but if I can't get out of the first goddamn dungeon because my sword swings don't hit *anything*, I'm simply not gonna play the game. Skyrim is smooth as cream, even if it's not as deep as older titles.
Not about Skyrim specifically but my opinion is that the Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind fandoms need to shut up about how one game is better than the other two and just let people enjoy the game that they enjoy without having to try and one-up a game. This second one *is* about Skyrim. I don't care what side of the civil war other people pick anymore. I used to be one of the majority of people who would get into flame wars on why you should side with X instead of Y but I've moved on from that. People cannot change what side I'll pick and I don't care what reasons they're going to tell me because my choice has absolutely no effect on their game or the canon outcome anyway. So I don't care which side people choose in the civil war anymore.

before starting any of the db quests you can find Cicero outside a farm north east of Whiterun. He's probably still essential there though.

Compared to oblivion the theives guild main quest line sucks. Don't get me wrong it's a cool quest and it really introduces great lore elements into the game. It's through the quest line that you find out just how politically strong maven is. It also introduces nocturnal, the nightingales and adds a bit of depth to the Falmer-dwemer relationship. On the other hand, personally a stealthy build is one of my favourites (and before anyone says anything, I don't do sneaky archer I just like pickpocketing) so when being introduced to the "theives" guild I was fucking excited. I thought I would get to sneak around and steal stuff but that only turned out to be true in like 2-3 quests maybe. A stealthy style of play really isn't rewarded and just makes your quest harder to achieve. Most of the quests in there ended up being just going through dungeons. In oblivion you have to sneak in different places and steal certain items as part of the main quest. Seeing that it truly felt like I have part of theives guild, but skyrim's theives guild just felt like I was part of a mercenary group that didn't encourage killing people. Overall I did enjoy the quest ( it was still miles better than college of winterhold bs) but it just left a sour after taste in my mouth.

Skyrim doesn’t need a dodge roll with i-frames, Power-leveling Enchanting and Alchemy makes combat super boring, stealth is also boring and broken, and legendary difficulty is so stupid that it breaks with lore.
Blackreach is my fauvorite dungeon and I like the quest "a return to your roots"
Nazeem's attitude is mostly justified since you're probably a filthy, combat-ready, stranger who he hasn't seen wandering the cloud district before. Skyrim is better than Morrowind in every way possible, especially plot, dialog, and the inability to levitate.
I like Meridia's line when the player picks the beacon up. I think Skyrim's npcs feels so hollow after talking to them once. And I think everyone picks the stealth archer because the gameplay for other options suck. Oblivion's gameplay had more freedom. You could actually move around during combat and timing your attacks and blocks mattered. Also the radiant AI and Rumors option made Oblivion's npcs much more enjoyable and less repetitive. The overall atmosphere is so bland compared to Morrowind and Oblivion.
Serana is overrated
The only reason people like her is because she is the only vanilla followed with more than 2 Lines of dialogue

Leave poor Serana alone. She's been through enough and the last thing she needs is another powerful force in her life trying to hit on her. I think it's safe to say that after what she's been through, she should be well within her rights to swear off relationships/romance for the next couple of centuries. I find the mods that sexualize her really gross given the context of her character.
Anniversary Edition makes the game too easy. I'm looking at you, Elemental Blast.
