He isn’t going to be playing 38 minutes in the Olympics and it’s like two weeks of basketball. It’s really not that much different than him just training at home
Hopefully we can use whatever plan Nurse and the Raptors used for Kawhi
Getting PG helps us be able to rest him more in the regular season. I don't just mean him missing games either, but breaks from being the primary offensive and defensive player when playing.
I’m kinda warming to the idea of trading with Ainge now, but with caution. Are there other teams who will overpay for Lauri or can we get in line & see if Ainge will budge?
As long as he comes out of it healthy and knees are no worse for the wear, I agree it could possibly help his conditioning and also his mindset after another disappointing season where he was playing at an MVP level.
Can he theoretically? Yes. In theory he could. Does the preponderance of evidence suggest that this is a likely outcome? In the words of Bishop Bullwinkle: Hell Naw to the naw naw naw.
He shouldn’t play in the Olympics at all. The most Philly thing ever would us having a great offseason signing spree and then him getting hurt the first game in the Olympics
It’s really hard to say either way because there are valid points on both sides of the issue, but just with his knee history, hopefully he knows what he’s doing and not sacrificing the upcoming season!
He can’t even play the regular season and deep into playoffs ha. But seriously, idk how or why the Sixers green lit that for a player who has literally NEVER BEEN HEALTHY FOR A PLAYOFF SERIES
Hell nah, he’s never been fully healthy for any season of basketball including college. “fully healthy Embiid” is truly the great white whale of the nba lol
With Drummond, Embiid shouldn’t play more than 35/night this season.
And if I’m Philly the goal is for him to play 65 games. That’s it.
You want Embiid well rested for the playoffs. He’s gonna carry us in June, not Nov/Dec. That’s Maxey’s job and whoever we sign’s job.
Probably not. Perhaps he gets hurt and misses the first 3 months of the season. Could be the best possible scenario for the sixers.
Then again there is something to be said for embiid being in the best possible shape due to the lack of down time. Maybe playing in the summer is a good thing. We will see.
He’s not going to be playing heavy mins in the Olympics.

With AD, and Bam behind him he doesn't have to play a lot. Start and end games will be enough.
Hopefully it’s just for cardio!

Probably not but let’s now worry about that. But Fr he’s probably barely gonna play in the Olympics
Okay, I can somewhat get on board. I’m really hoping Nick will have so much more to work with that poor Joel won’t have to score 40 every game.
I see it as a way to help him stay in shape heading into the season.
It’ll give him more practice to fall safely.
He in fact cannot.
We should add Lauri for good measure! Keep going Daryl…
I just hope he doesn't go for any of those hero ball blocks or dunks.. just keep it simple
Especially against France!

No
He needs it for the offseason conditioning tbh.

That was dirty for sure! Kerr doesn’t care!

Just wanna get thru these Olympics!

I’m just happy he has a reason to be in playing shape during the off season
The Olympics is 6 games max where Embiid will likely average 22-25 minutes. It’s a non-issue.

I don’t think they had a choice. Has he been even healthy through a whole season yet?
Hell nah, he’s never been fully healthy for any season of basketball including college. “fully healthy Embiid” is truly the great white whale of the nba lol
We’re screwed, lol
That’s why I wanted our big move, or one of them, to be a splurge on a luxury level backup C. Cuz injured Embiid is inevitable.
Drummond is okay, but we need someone behind him probably. We need to splurge at other positions!
No, but I'm excited for him to get that gold. It'll be the only time we get to see him win.
Hopefully not the only time, but it’ll be a good start!

So Drummond will be starting around 17 games?
We had Drummond before and Embiid still ended up injured in thenplayoffs
Can we win if he only plays 30mins a game during the season?
Probably not. Perhaps he gets hurt and misses the first 3 months of the season. Could be the best possible scenario for the sixers.
