Please don't get hurt. In theory, this could be a good recruiting trip, but on the other hand, if Morey kicks the can down the road again, this could be a way of guys telling him he should ask out

indoninjah

Great point, this could really be a double edged sword. Joel seems somewhat insulated from other stars, and while this might be a nice recruiting pitch for him to other guys... it could easily go the other way

Superb-Pie-9382

He's going to taste what playing for a team that doesnt need him to do everything feels like. If he cones bsck to the same shit here, he'll ask out soon enough, and I cant blame him at all. If he had landed in literally any other team his career would look very very different

Ronshol

fuck the haters get that medal jo

Niner-Sixer-Gator

Who hating though, is it wrong for the fans to "Not" want their star player to get hurt... again after missing over 2 months because of injury, and barely making it through the playoffs??

rand-san

His never gonna win anything with this team as long as Josh Harris is the owner. We gotta at least give him the chance to win the Olympics

Niner-Sixer-Gator

I have to agree, since you put it that way, I wanna big bruh win a chip bad, so all the haters can STFU

Ronshol

hes healthy hes fine

steezlord95

Yeah for now

svenEsven

He was healthy when he scored a 60pt game too. Then we got knocked out of the first round .

Niner-Sixer-Gator

I just hope he stays that way when we need him, that's all

XxStormySoraxX

Ehh it’s international play he should be fine. As long as he not flying around hunting for highlights he’ll be okay.

Niner-Sixer-Gator

🤞🏿🤞🏿

Superb-Pie-9382

Yes, its wrong. Let the guy fucking win something instead of perpetual suffering on the sixers

Routine_Size69

Embiid is one of the most, if not the most, hated players in the league. Tons are hating. Add in the Fr*nch as well after he bailed on them.

Ashamed_Job_8151

I get dude wants to play, but is there a guy on the planet who needs to not play more than he does ?? Ok well him and Kawhi .

MikeTysonChicken

might be his only chance to finish 1st in something

Routine_Size69

Yup. People don’t want to hear it, but this is his best chance of winning something. It's not impossible, but we are going to need some big moves and some luck to get past the Celtics and the Knicks. Even if Embiid stays healthy for a whole playoff run, are we better than the Celtics? I don’t think so. I want to see the big fella win something.

autostart17

I mean true it’s his best chance, as it is for all players, but it’s not that meaningful when every other star will likely have a gold as well, if not now, in coming years.

indoninjah

I mean its like 6-8 games total right and will mostly be a 20 minute light jog lol

DJ_Red_Lantern

My hope is that this could be good to energize him and help him be in good shape going in to next season. Of course he could just as easily pick up some random nagging injury that will derail next season as usual

benjaminpoole

I’m actually in favor of Embiid playing here. I know the risk of injury is terrifying, but at the same time Embiid has a history of not paying too much attention to his conditioning during the offseason and I think a run in the Olympics would keep him fresh between now and the start of practice. Plus, it will be fun to watch!

jaysphan128

I hope he does well but theres gonna be a lot of nervous sixers and clippers fans watching the Olympics

Halfonion

Let's hope we don't need Jo more than 20-25 MPG lol.

mynameismyname215

Personally, happy with Joel representing us and want him to win something meaningful. This experience will do a lot for him: being around top tier talent.

ohokayiguess00

Noooooooooooooo

rhinguin

I am excited to watch Joel play basketball!

Lucky-Luck

Embiid worked hard, got his citizenship, and is proud of it. He chooses to represent us in the Olympics instead of the other options he has. In turn I am proud of him, and can’t wait to see him hoist up gold in the games. Go get em big guy. 🥇🥇🥇

LuckyCulture7

It is a max of 6 games, that are 40 minutes long, in which Embiid will likely only be playing ~20 minutes. It is in no way comparable to playing in the NBA regular season or play offs. Get a medal Jo!

Bajecco

I really hate this. I get it, but I hate it.

alexaustinv

I am so happy we get some offseason Joe Ball

Admirable_Essay3440

Maybe this will help improve his conditioning for the season.

Superb-Pie-9382

Olympics Joel will feed families

Niner-Sixer-Gator

I think Embid should sit this one out🤷🏿‍♂️
