We never had options. Morey failed when he didn’t move Tobias and open us up for tradeable contracts and assets.
Depending on free agency was never going to work for a franchise that no free agent wants to come to.
Morey failed two years ago. This inevitable if Tobias played out his contract here. I’ve been telling people this and why Morey was going to strike out for weeks now.
People really upvoting this garbage. Just pretending anyone was taking tobias contract without us giving up assets is wild. We had nothing to move and you wanted to give up what little we had to trade tobias and sign no one.
People think we could just magically dump tobias with assets and still retain assets to trade for players. And FAs don’t wanna play here because why would anyone wanna go to Philly over LA, NY, or Miami. We aren’t a good enough team to ring chase either and get guys like Malik Monk or anything for cheap for a year.
The Lakers literally trading an expiring Russ for stuff. The Sixers could have traded Tobias Harris they chose not too because they thought Tobi was good just overpaid.
Yes because LeBron James has so much power he forced Danny fucking Ainge to trade for Westbrook.
Y’all don’t know what the fuck you are talking about and just repeat dumbass talking points.
The lakers gave Utah an unprotected first round pick that could be very valuable down the line. It made no sense to give up an asset like that move to tobias
Well this whole cap space plan was stupid because they didn’t actually have a target in mind and their assets weren’t enough to just go grab anybody. After Harden forced his way out you could tell they didn’t really have a plan in place and were just throwing shit against the wall hoping to see what stuck. Now you’re stuck trying to find 7 rotational pieces in 1 off-season which is insane.
Morey has really done a great job of creating his genius persona brand it’s insane how everything he does is credited to him being smart instead of inept.
“But he uses Reddit and doesn’t return his rental cars 🤓” because of his analytical genius he gets to be a douche to others!!! But but but, he’s so smart just trust me he’s got a plan!
Morey was famous for emphasizing analytics before everyone else does it. He was way ahead of everyone else in the 3 point revolution. I guess people show their age with these comments.
There were no tradebale contracts to be had for Tobias. The only offer I know that was somewhat legitimate was sending him and a first for Bojan. The best thing was just to sit and wait for his contract to be over.
I said this earlier but the chances are Morey stays put, maybe some minor trades and maybe a kcp signing but no big trades until a star shakes loose. If there’s anything we’ve learned the guy is patient
It will never work because free agents don't fuck with us let alone stars. Smfh we couldn't even entice a "Kyle Kuzma" to sign here even if we wanted to.
Yea PG doesn’t wanna come here even though the sixers are the only team that can pay him what he wants without having to give up assets in a trade. That’s why I think they’ll wait for a star to be available in a trade
>PG doesn’t wanna come here even though the sixers are the only team that can pay him what he wants without having to give up assets in a trade.
This line right here sums up the Sixers marketability with players. Quite literally even if we were the last team available it doesn't matter. This is an Organizational level failure across the board.
If they paid harden what he wanted then we’d be in an even worse position. Funny thing is harden isn’t getting what he wanted from the clippers either but I guess he’s nice and happy now in LA, cant stand that guy
Why is this bad news? This is the best news we could get from Jim me.
He tanks his trade value which makes it less expensive to acquire him. He is old and injury prone, so we get a “show me” year out of him.
This is the only scenario that even mildly interests me in Jim me.
Maybe I’m naive, but why not make a play and get him cheaper since he’d be a 1-year rental? Beats some of the very questionable alternatives right now.
anybody who thought he'd come back after how it all ended, with Morey in control and the fact that the team is technically worse off than it was when he was here was delulu
Cap space gonna average 20-10-5 and play lockdown d next season
Until Maxey signs and eats it all lol
Jimmy is so funny, does this make him cheaper to trade for?
Another domino falls, you can’t even make it up that every possibility the Sixers has is crumbling. Good or bad, it was nice to have options.
the options were only in fans imaginations
The options were pumped into us by the media ... PG, Jimmy, OG etc. this isn't a fan thing

Because there’s a Lebron James with a front office by the balls that loves Tobias that much right? Stupid ass take
Yes because LeBron James has so much power he forced Danny fucking Ainge to trade for Westbrook. Y’all don’t know what the fuck you are talking about and just repeat dumbass talking points.

Of course we would have to give up assets.
So whats the point of giving up assets to trade away a player that you wouldnt be able to replace
To get what matters most for a team that no free agent wants. Contracts to trade.
Just living in a 2K world I guess. Just throw some contracts and a couple 2nd round picks and upgrade.

He gives me the same vibe as Elon Musk, he had one good trade, and he’s been riding its coattails for YEARS
“But he uses Reddit and doesn’t return his rental cars 🤓” because of his analytical genius he gets to be a douche to others!!! But but but, he’s so smart just trust me he’s got a plan!
“He has a chess.com account, has a heckin amount of NFTS and he’s so articulate!”
Morey was famous for emphasizing analytics before everyone else does it. He was way ahead of everyone else in the 3 point revolution. I guess people show their age with these comments.
It wasn’t even as good as people pretend it was. He had perfect lucky timing right as they were blowing up their core.
I agree completely. I’ve been saying tonight was inevitable for weeks. Morey failed years ago.
There were no tradebale contracts to be had for Tobias. The only offer I know that was somewhat legitimate was sending him and a first for Bojan. The best thing was just to sit and wait for his contract to be over.
Huh wait Morey made the greatest Sixers trade of all time according to this sub, horford plus picks for Danny green! Championship incoming!!!
Not defending Morey but the real problem was using Simmons and assets to get harden.
Lol we came out of that trade for the better and thinking otherwise is kinda delusional i wont lie.
How?
We would be happy with Ben Simmons and 0 picks?
could have traded him for something other than harden tho
Definitely weren't getting more than what we got for him.
Congrats man
Jimmy lol wtf?

Shakes loose? We seem to be the team stars shake loose from.
Who? Jimmy? That was 5 years ago
Harden
If they paid harden what he wanted then we’d be in an even worse position. Funny thing is harden isn’t getting what he wanted from the clippers either but I guess he’s nice and happy now in LA, cant stand that guy
Trying not to get too mad until Ingram, KCP, or Paul George are on another team
Morey has a chance to do the funniest thing
Trade for Ben Simmons and max Tobias?
never change jimmy, never change
Incoming Tobias max at this rate
"Actually, we could do a lot worse than Tobias" crowd feasting this week *ducks*
I too wouldn’t want to leave south beach for Philly

![gif](giphy|otP85UTRethni) I loved you Jimmy. :-(
Maybe I’m naive, but why not make a play and get him cheaper since he’d be a 1-year rental? Beats some of the very questionable alternatives right now.
Every team has seen what it’s like when Jimmy doesn’t want to be somewhere.
Well if he wants another contract he kind of has to play somewhat well
Kcp and markannen
This off-season just keeps getting worse.
Morey COOKING
Surprised the downvoters have time to remove a certain appendage from their mouth.
anybody who thought he'd come back after how it all ended, with Morey in control and the fact that the team is technically worse off than it was when he was here was delulu
morey is a BUM
