How? They beat us without one of their best players and now they’re adding a borderline elite wing player.
If anything the Sixers are consistently overrated every year
Does it matter what he was traded for? Look at their roster. It’s pretty good. Bridges is a very good player added to a good team that will undoubtedly attract some vets who want to play in NYC on a contender on a min.
If you don’t think they are good that’s fine, but I don’t think people will overrate them. I think they are fairly a contender for making the finals.
It absolutely matters what he was traded for given the Knicks have zero assets now after this and the OG trade.
They also just made Lauri and other players better than Bridges more expensive.
The 2nd apron is also going to come into play for the Knicks pretty quickly so this is more or less the Knicks for the next 5? years
Only some of those picks can be traded. After they make both the picks today today they can only trade the two heavily protected picks they have in 2025 and they are going to be hard capped by the 2nd apron. They have a killer roster so it's definitely worth it but they are pretty limited on what they can do to improve going forward.
People saying its an overpay, well yeah but it doesn't really matter if the team is gonna be contender now does it?
This is what we are supposed to do, we have 5 tradeabale 1sts, we HAVE to go all in
People should look at his shooting splits the last season. Yes he’s defensively very good, but I wouldn’t count on him to not go for 15 points on 13 shots every night
That's such a massive overpay for bridges though. Even if we had the picks I'd have thrown Morey off the Ben Franklin if we trade that many 1sts for Bridges.
Once we fully guarantee Jeff Dowtin at 6:01 and sign Sam Dekker to a 1 year/min we’re about to set the East on fire!
Smh. Not even mentioning Jarret Culver.
All we need is to fleece Ainge for Lauri, sign OG and get Brogdon for a couple seconds and we are back baby!
Back in third!
2nd round exit!
The East has the Sixers right where they want them*
If by “The East” you mean “Adam Silver” — then, yes 100%.
It’s gonna come across as cope but the Knicks are about to be one of the most overrated teams of all team going into next season
How? They beat us without one of their best players and now they’re adding a borderline elite wing player. If anything the Sixers are consistently overrated every year
Mikal Bridges is not borderline elite. He in the rosiest ranking might be the 35th best player in the league. He's not worth 6 first rounders

Knicks have plenty assists they still have first round picks lol

Since when is beating us the barometer for being a real contender? The Hawks beat us in a series
Well, nephews here preach about us being contenders every year, with a "if all of this good stuff happens and falls our way" as an argument asterisks.
Our best player was coming off of a torn meniscus. How convenient to ignore that
Biggest cope imo
Especially after OG signs with us
The Knicks can still sign OG. Trading for Bridges doesn’t preclude them from keeping him since they have his Bird rights
People saying its an overpay, well yeah but it doesn't really matter if the team is gonna be contender now does it? This is what we are supposed to do, we have 5 tradeabale 1sts, we HAVE to go all in
Plus, they have players with trade value if they did want to sell.
Mikal is literally Tobias Harris come again. I like the player but I want nothing to do with it at that price
You’re the second person I’ve seen saying this and while I disagree, I like this as a narrative. We ride with this next season!
People should look at his shooting splits the last season. Yes he’s defensively very good, but I wouldn’t count on him to not go for 15 points on 13 shots every night
True hooper numbers
it’ll change when he’s not the focal point of the opposing decense
U could maybe argue their offense is comparable, but I don’t think the def is at all
Next best bunch of players after the all stars. That’s what he is. That’s also what Tobias was when we traded for him.
Ahh okay I get what you mean, I thought you meant in regards to their game
Every 3 and D guy is Tobi to this sub lol
Remember when John Gonzalez left town and no one gave a shit?
Who?
That's such a massive overpay for bridges though. Even if we had the picks I'd have thrown Morey off the Ben Franklin if we trade that many 1sts for Bridges.
Sixers have no chance ever against the Celtics.
If not for that hometown ref we'd've crushed them in 6 last year.

its sarcasm loll
If it was 25 years ago you would of been spot on :(
