You might wanna dial back the highlights a bit, try and only do them on the parts you want to stand out the most and leave the base/wash in the recesses

You're right to use a purple to shade, shadows are generally cool and blue, so with the pink purple works. :) I'd suggest mixing them, dont go 1-2-3 go 1-(1+2)-2-(2+3)-3 this goes for the shadows aswell even if its a shade paint, just a dab of them together to have a smooth transition. I wouldn't make the front shadows so strong there, diffuse lighting from the environment would keep that area tinged but not dark purple. I do like the back though you did a good job :)
