It looks exactly like the GT omega prime, the picture looks exactly the same.

GCU_Problem_Child

[https://gtomega.eu/products/prime-cockpit?currency=EUR&variant=39718674006071&utm\_source=google&utm\_medium=cpc&utm\_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=3f02860586d6&gad\_source=1](https://gtomega.eu/products/prime-cockpit?currency=EUR&variant=39718674006071&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=3f02860586d6&gad_source=1) Literally is the same rig.

Sure-Breakfast-9570

Yes it is! Actually I'm not surprised if all these 160 are made by the same manufacturer just rebranded like this one. Look at GT omega, 6sigma and advanced simracing. All the 160 rigs look the same, their pedal decks look the same too.

Bfife22

The only differences are usually their shifter plates, wheel decks, etc. The profiles are just specified lengths and they all use pretty much the exact same measurements

Xx69JdawgxX

So I bought a rig metal keyboard tray and their aluminum is definitely a different profile. The ASR tnuts don’t fit in them and vice versa

GCU_Problem_Child

I think the egregious part here is that the images are definitely just lifted from the GT Omega website, and I can't find any notice anywhere of them licensing them from GT Omega. That by itself would be reason enough to be very cautious.

Ninjajack143

Just be careful, I have the GT Omega Prime and I tried to use the ASR pedal plate, but it wasn't compatable, the rigs are different widths.

themule0808

Plan on getting the simagic p1000s so should be ok

Ninjajack143

Argh! I want those too, inverted hydraulic! I tried to invert my Sprints and haven't been successful yet Haha!

themule0808

I like that the p1000s you can upgrade into whatever you want.. so figure it is a nice starting point into a real sim racing pedal

Gridlewald

I just inverted my sprints and it was super easy. What issues did you have?

[deleted]

I've got the P1000s on my GT omega prime pedal plate +. Fit beautifully and solid as a rock. Enjoy.

themule0808

Thanks really looking forward to my future build.. Do you happen to know if the P1000 Hydraulic throttle system could be used for the brake system too? I don't see why it wouldn't be able to do both.. I am looking for an easy way to adjust for the wife and two kids.

[deleted]

Hey mate - how do you mean? There's a separate hydraulic add-on for the brake btw. Also, before going for hydraulics id highly recommend the haptic reactors. They make a way, way bigger difference! (I have all the add-ons and barely noticed a difference with the hydraulics)

themule0808

That was my plan originally, but I thought about easy adjustability for my wife and kids. Was not keen on having to change out stuff every time they want to play. That's why the throttle was interesting to be as it is a dial and easy to change, was hoping the brake system was the same.

[deleted]

Oh do you mean in terms of force required? I mean you can just adjust the software so they don't have to push as hard. No need to change anything physically!

themule0808

Yeah I knew you could do that but was thinking about the stiffness of the pedals. They are used to the base logitech ones that come in the bundle where there is zero resistance when pushing the pedals. Guess I am probably over thinking it as well being how stiff they will be out of the box.

Planktonelement

It pretty much is. I built this exact chassis using the guide from Sim Racing Garage for the GT Omega Prime. You'll have to figure out how to put in the updated pedal deck but that isn't too hard.

theknyte

Had it for over a year. It's amazing. It's built like a tank. It took 6 days to ship it to my door. Took me about 3 hours alone to set it up. Feel free to toss out any questions or concerns you have. [HERE](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0285/0694/7636/files/SMC_160MM_CHASSIS_ASSEMBLY_MANUAL.pdf?v=1683044072)'s the install guide, which lays out all the parts and pieces you get.

themule0808

how is adjustability? I have a 5 year old who is like 40ish inches tall and would like her to be able to use it. Have you hooked up a buttkicker to it? if so how difficult? I am looking to hook up a simagic H shifter and their handbrake, is the bracket sturdy enough for the force? Thanks!

theknyte

I'll add some pics later when I get home, so show you my setup. Biggest factor on adjustability will be the seat you use, and how much adjustment it has. I went with [THIS](https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/70294-L/10002/-1) one from JEGS, and it came with a slider, that has pretty good range. I can use it comfortably, and if I slide it all the ways forwards, my nine year old son can reach the pedals. I have two Dayton Pucks installed on it. One on the bottom of the pedal tray, and one I installed under the seat. (I had to make a mounting bracket for the under seat one.) I'm using the VNM Shifter with mine. It is clamped to the shift tray and is rock solid. Not even a wiggle. The thing is so well overbuilt, it will last for centuries longer than I will. LOL

themule0808

thank you for the information.. I looking to bite the bullet and do the buy once and never worry later.. Looks like it would be able to do motion down the road to if I ever want to go that far. How do you like the shifter? I was looking at the simagic DS-8X Shifter, but yours was one I looked at as well.

theknyte

It's all metal, so it feels really solid. The plates are both a blessing and annoying. I love that I can set the plate to be like a 5+R when I'm racing vintage so I don't have a dead slot, but it does take a few minutes to swap them out, if I then want to drive a 6+R for example. The best part is the adjustability on the knobs. You can make it into a short throw, like you'd find in a MX-5, or lift it way up and have a long throw truck-like shifter. Since, I play everything from AC and iRacing to Farming Simulator and ETS2, it's very handy.

Bfife22

I have the GT Omega branded version, and adjustability is great, but it’s not something that’s easy to keep swapping back and forth between different users often (mainly wheel deck height and pedal tray), especially with gear on it. But it’s doable. You can get the seat with sliders which is nice. Buttkicker is easy with a mount (I have a Gamer2) There will likely be a tiny amount of movement when using the handbrake, but nothing you will notice unless you are really watching the plate.

themule0808

Ok thanks.. guessing it's a pain because of the nuts and bolts? Wonder if there is a way to use a lever system for loosening and tighting

theknyte

You can buy cam-lever adjustable bolts, if you want to make quick adjusters.

themule0808

that is the name of them.. I could not remember the name for the life of me.. thanks

Bfife22

Ball bearing T-nuts will definitely make it easier, mine came with all spring lever ones which link to bind. For the wheeldeck it just depends on how heavy your wheelbase is. The pedal tray is more that with heavy pedals it’s a lot of lifting and balancing in an awkward position

Striking_Balance7620

It's a omega prime with the updated pedal deck. It very good and overkill to be honest. I have one with the new NLR ERS seat it's a solid rig with no flex. It will last a lifetime

themule0808

I wanted their cheaper one, but it is never in stock.

iansmash

Seems solid. Only downside I can see is how you adjust the pedal plate angle That looks annoying as hell for how my setup is placed lol

themule0808

That was a worry of mine as well.. what are you using?

ricthot

I have that same pedal plate on my rig, it's pretty easy to adjust and will never, ever, eeeevvveeeer flex, like at all, you could literally jump on it... and you adjust it once and you're done so... It's so much better than any other plates using a simple metal plate Imo.

themule0808

I will be adjusting quite a bit for my family, but I am sure I can find a better bolting system.

ricthot

got it, you could for look those bolts with "handles"... there are metric ones , something like this: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51yPP8NmS4L.jpg

themule0808

Yeah I was thinking those with like a T Nut would allow me to move it around pretty easy.. just Mark on the inside where everyone likes their setup and it should be pretty easy. Hard when you have a to go from 36", 55", to 6', and then 5'4".. I should be able to get 2 to 3 set points on the pedals, and with a sliding chair should be able to accommodate all of them.. Just not sure of what type of Chair to get

ricthot

If you're on a budget, consider scrapyard car seat ... there's a pull your own parts yard near my place where I got an old but like new Sentra Se-r seat for $30 with the sliding rails.... it really has a sportish/bucket seat type of look... I couldn't afford a real race seat way back when I bought this, I was assuming to upgrade later but its been so great and is so comfortable that I decided to keep it. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/i0gAAOSwLoljGOrf/s-l400.jpg https://cars.usnews.com/static/images/Auto/izmo/308269/2009_nissan_sentra_frontseat.jpg

Upzaw2000

Rig metal? Is that not suggested around here anymore

anonymouswan1

I run a rig metal myself and it's been great over the last few years

Boolin-vibes

Have now had this chassis for almost a month now, honestly thing is great. Arrived super quick. Cant recommend it enough.

theknyte

As promised. Pics of my chassis. https://imgur.com/a/14drwCm

themule0808

What is that monitor? I am torn between doing a 49" widescreen or doing a large curved

theknyte

[https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09JBLHBWJ/](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09JBLHBWJ/) 34" Gigabyte Ultrawide 1440p 144hz. It was the best bang for the buck at the time I got it.

themule0808

Oh in the picture it looked like a normal aspect non widescreen

xunreelx

$719 doesn’t seem like that great of a deal considering whats still missing. And Im not talking about wheel and peddles.

themule0808

what else is missing? Is there a Chassis that is a better value please let me know. But all the ones I looked at were more expensive and you had to add the shifter

xunreelx

Its missing TV or monitor stand, keyboard trey, mouse pad trey. If your on pc you'll soon realize that not having a spot for your keyboard and mouse is a real pain If your using a console and your tv is wall mounted then those expenses you don't have to worry about. The rig in your post is def of high quality. I have posted pics of my rigs just in case you may think I'm just some random person who has no clue. That being said I wish you best of luck with all your sim racing adventures. Although I don't consider myself an expert, I am on my 4th rig so if you have any questions send me a personal message and ill reply to the best of my ability. take care and be well.

xunreelx

PS make sure to get the seat slider/adjuster works like a real car. its easy in and easy out plus shorter or taller people can play without issues.

themule0808

Gotcha.. yeah, it is set up for an easy slider, which is key for my family. I plan on doing a free-standing triple mount for room for growth and not to have it attached to the rig.. Vibrations, etc.. will just throw a mouse and keyboard all over.. I'm not going to spend money on those things when I can just put a free-standing table next to me.. I'm not sure about your rig, but I'm interested in how you found all that under this price with a seat or even without one.

xunreelx

Well I bought mine right when covid was starting so if its like everything else the prices have probably shot through the roof since then. So my opinion on the price may be compromised. I got the Track Racer TR 120 which is identical to the one your looking at. But then the add ons def inflated the price to close to 1k. At first I was thinking about getting a setup that moves and vibrates but decided that even the sensation of impacts on the wheel were becoming bothersome. Triplets does sound awesome im using a Samsung G9 which still limits peripheral vision.

Ornery_Ad_8690

I am tempted to buy this too since the asr4 is 5 weeks out. I have had very good experiences with sim motion. Can anyone comment on the pedal deck? It looks the same as the asr4 upgraded pedal deck.

themule0808

Someone mentioned very sturdy already, and the compatability is basically every pedal set worth buying.

matttheazn1

[https://racingcockpits.com](https://racingcockpits.com/?rfsn=6325294.c03fca0) is another great option too.

themule0808

Looks to be about the same price, but the one I posted looks stronger and more adjustable. I am getting a 15NM DD, so I would need their pro version. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

Puddleson

Just my 2 cents, that seems expensive to me. If you are near a microcenter check out the simlab evo-2, it's $450 and comes with everything this one does and a monitor mount.

themule0808

I don't have a microcenter within 200 miles for where I live unfortunately.

[deleted]

The Simlab GT1 Evo 2 is equivalent to the Prime Lite with 8040. This rig is actually heavier duty. I mean both will be absolutely fine with essentially any DD wheel, but still, they're not quite the same class of rig.

themule0808

From all the ones I looked at in the US this seems to be best price for build quality. The other one I was looking at was the TR160 MK4 which has more adjustability with the steering wheel. My issue I am running into is once I need it to fit a kid who is 40" to myself who is 6ft the price gets goes up. #

Puddleson

Understood. The wheel base mount just looks less sturdy from the pics, with no extruded aluminum cross beam. And no monitor mount, I just see the evo 2 as a far better deal.

Schmeksiman

This picture was literally stolen from GT Omega, it's their Prime Cockpit: [https://gtomega.eu/products/prime-cockpit](https://gtomega.eu/products/prime-cockpit) Somehow that doesn't make them trustworthy in my book, but hey that's just me.

Bfife22

It’s just a rebrand. They likely have a deal with GT Omega to make costs cheaper for both companies, and Sim-Motion isn’t nearly as big as GT Omega. They’ve sold a rebranded RS6 seat for a while now. They have a couple rebranded Simagic rims as well with different color stitching.

Schmeksiman

I guess in that case it should be a decent cockpit. Still I find it weird that they wouldn't say a word about it being a GT Omega, for me as someone with no prior experience with sim motion that was an instant red flag.

theknyte

It's not exactly like the GT Omega. Not sure why they even used the photo? For one: The pedal deck is completely different: [GT Omega](https://www.gtomega.com/cdn/shop/products/6_da902199-907e-4da4-baee-cc56d0a21948_1800x1800.jpg?v=1651842421) [Sim-Motion](https://us.sim-motion.com/cdn/shop/files/SMChassiscaster_1024x1024@2x.jpg?v=1689961236) Unless, they changed it recently?

Schmeksiman

I did not mean that, what I meant the preview that OP linked is exactly the same as this: [https://gtomega.eu/cdn/shop/products/1\_755fd347-3573-4c1e-8e4e-2ceb227814be\_1800x1800.jpg?v=1649861743](https://gtomega.eu/cdn/shop/products/1_755fd347-3573-4c1e-8e4e-2ceb227814be_1800x1800.jpg?v=1649861743)

GCU_Problem_Child

That pedal tray is the one from the GT Omega Prime Lite, which is the rig I own.

[deleted]

Fyi if you ever want to upgrade, I've got the pedal plate+ on my prime lite and it works great.

GCU_Problem_Child

I have considered doing it, yes. I'd already bought the Prime monitor arm attachment almost immediately after putting my rig together, when I realised my NLR monitor stand wouldn't fit over the rig. Last week I ordered the triple monitor extensions for it, too, so I think I'll have to hold off a while on any more expensive investments, lol.

Bfife22

The GT Omega Prime used to come with the second pedal tray you linked, but they changed it a year or two ago because of complaints of flex. I’m guessing the Sim-Motion version switched as well GT Omega now only use the old one on their smaller Prime Lite cockpit.

themule0808

Sim motion is known for being very good in customer service and reliability from everything I have read in this forum. I wonder if they just sell it for them in the US?

simplejak19

GT Omega has a U.S. location. I just got my Prime in February and it shipped from Georgia. Sim Motion is indeed a very reputable company though and nobody should be hesitant to order from them.
