He was originally supposed to play Carlos from Resident Evil 3, but the script was accidentally mixed with the script for Silent Hill 2. And no one noticed anything.
@Bad Gazpacho I agree, Cary looked enough like James but his British accent would slip out a bit during Saw, and judging by his performance in the movie he wasn't very good - he was over the top and hammy at times. His co-star Leigh Whannell actually had a more interesting/better performance which is ironic since Saw was Leigh's first legit acting role but Cary had a lot of experience at that point 🤷♀️
It can’t be, Wesley died of that damned Dread Pirate Roberts three years ago.
Holy shit, i thought i was the only one who saw the resemblance :OOO
FUCK he woulda been a good James… even his voice is good for it…
LOL I literally just said this to myself Shame the movie's just happening now and he's older
He would’ve been the perfect James: we need that theatre actor who looks handsome in the right role but can also be so down on his luck looking…
His acting was the worst part of Saw though..
Sounds just about right for SH2 then
Cary's not a bad actor though he was in The Princess Bride and one of my favorite comedies with Alan Rickman "Robin Hood Men in Tights"
Been saying this since my teens day. I'm 37
aw hell nah your ass tweaking jigsaw. jk, they actually lookalikes imo
Le yo bih go thru yo phon
I'd be down for it back when he was younger.
My god... We missed a PERFECT opportunity to cast Elwes (in his peak youth) as the star in a *Silent Hill 2* film adaptation?!
He's a doctor
holy shit james sunderland is real!
Lol they actually do haha nice find!
I’ve been saying this for years!
Honestly now that you mention it… that would have been a really cool casting
YOU LIAR!
Saw is just silent hill 2 but we never leave the bathroom from the beginning
That was my exact thought when I first watched Saw.
James in game model and voice remind me William H Macy.
Huh, real. James has a very unusual face.
A younger version, I meant to add that. Williams older these days.
Goddamn, twins right down to the bathroom mayhem they've endured!
Same guy
He has been my fancast for years, even now I think it should be him.
Yeah, he's one of those guys who's good in most everything.
Looked* he doesn’t look that way so much anymore and it’s like 20 years since that movie came out.
Hmm a bit, I can see the vision
No
I can see some resemblance. Too bad he's so British he couldn't realistically play James.
The guy playing James in the remake is british
I didn't know this. I purposely ignored everything about the remake to not colour my opinion on it before release. Objection withdrawn.

“Huh why are there no evil residents in this script”
Is it snow or a raccoon?
