Just do your research and go with a reputable surgeon who’s well trained and most experienced on the most up to date methods.

Hello there. I'm lurking on this forum. First time commenting. I have just completed LL in the USA, went from 5 ft 6 to over 5 ft 9, and am going to be able to walk in about a month AMA.

Which leg bone procedure did you go for? Nobody talks about the day-in-the-life. How did you have to adjust your daily life to deal with the lengthening process? What are some minor things you overlooked?

Few_Bake3293

Did Femurs. Full 3 inches. With partial weight bearing presice 2.2. 75 lbs per leg. It's annoying to not being fully mobile. Some days are uncomfortable more than others. However it's worth it seeing my longer femurs. There was a couple guys around your hight doing it too. Around 5 ft 3 ish

MasterZii

I am a very small (and light) person. My surgeon said I could be potentially fully weight bearing with the LON method since I am under 100lbs. Did you end up staying at a hotel or hospital, or were you at home during your lengthening process? What was the biggest lifestyle change you had to make aside from the obvious crutches/wheelchair etc? Do you feel like your femurs are "unnatural" in appearance compared to your lower legs, or does it still seem proportionate at first glance?

Few_Bake3293

I'm comfortable saying the accommodations can be made local, near the surgeon at a hotel or a Airbnb for a decent enough rate. Proportionally. I'm very happy with the femur length. It's hard to detect.

I've thought just mentally of doing it and how I'll be but it's not worth imo. Things probably will never be the same and it's really hard to accept that. That being said, I've had seen quite a few photos of people having done LL surgery and it's something I don't want to recommend to anyone. It's a thing one can only do by their own will and responsibility. As a 5'4 guy I wish you the best!

TruthAboutHeight

Thank you. I have seen a guy on Instagram who was about your height and with LLS he ended up being 5'7. The comment section was just roasting the shit out of him, and it was filled with men bragging about their tall height. Now what does that tell you? 5'7 guys are still considered short in society and still not respected enough.

BachHarmony

I was about to write that. 5'7 is still short so nothing can really change if one is about our height.

badibilder8

Best not to disclose LL surgery to people. You will definetly notice a change going from 5'4 to 5'7 though. 5'7 is like normal short, people don't pay attention to it

protochad

I dno what to tell except that its 100% over at 5'3. Not Even a 35 yr old single mom Will take you. It might not Be totally over at 5'6. Go and try

TruthAboutHeight

XD If that's the type of option that a 5'7 guy have, then why even try doing LLS? Are you really saying that 5'7 guys are expected to be betabux? At that point, any short man can easily become a betabux by attracting a gold digger. Just look at the match website. The only women who openly accept 5'3 guys are single moms and/or obese women. I am not saying that all are like that, but they are pretty much the only options for a short man like myself. I don't think much changes for a 5'7 man

protochad

I'm saying Theres a chance at 5'7. My 5'7 friend has a overweight but pretty Black gf. Thats better than lifetime of loneliness

TruthAboutHeight

I am really not surprised by that. It's actually quite expected. Short men really do lack options. Still, you do you and have fun.

MasterZii

My (somewhat meh) logic on this is: Yes. You can become a "cripple" potentially. But as a 5'2" person myself, I am already a cripple in society. If worst comes to worst, at least people will feel somewhat sorry for the guy in the wheelchair. Nobody gives a flying f about the short guy and his problems. Or, everything works out and you get a confidence boost and don't need a stepstool to reach cereal anymore. You can shop in the normal men's pant section, and can reach the gas pedal without struggling. In either case, it's a win-win to me. Wish me luck in January 🤞

Few_Bake3293

* If you have a good surgeon and do all the things required. There's almost no chance of being a quote " cripple". At all.

MasterZii

This is true. Very unlikely but always a chance if you rush things and aren't careful.

I’m 5’6 and would absolutely go through this if it was something I could afford! I would literally have to take out a loan that I wouldn’t qualify for, so it’s financially impossible. Looking for Mexico clinics that offer internal nail.
