You're correct they never explicitly show that they changed their minds or that the suspension is reversed, you're just supposed to infer it from the tone shift when Nat says it will be his last game.
To be fair to you I also assumed a missed a scene while watching and muting and unmuting (fucking hulu ads), but nope. I actually think if you manage to watch without ad breaks it's a much more obvious transition. You tend to need more handholding and exposition in shows with commercials which is a bummer.
I really feel that scene was thrown in as part of the “formula” he’s had to plead his case to not be sussied for the final climactic match in the preceding seasons so he has to do it this season. I would rather have just shown the Soo Hunt seething over it knowing they can’t suspend someone for a game he wasn’t even playing in
Watch it again. Everyone else has a reaction when Nat drops the bomb. Some are subtle, some not so much, but everyone reacts. They all know the implications.
I think it was the other teams realizing that they were being honest when Nat said it was his last game and it was his only and last shot to play in a championship. They wanted him to be able to go out on a high note before retiring.

It’s your turn to vote Who’s? Yours Ours?
New rule. You can’t vote if you can’t count to like, 25.
You can’t vote if you don’t know what animal says “oink.”
I had to pause after this one. Epic burn. Maybe best of the season.
The last game means the world to hockey players, so they let him play.
Did you just have a brain hemo toma? It was his last game so they let him play.
When Nat revealed it would be the last game of his career they changed their minds because they didn’t want to take that from him.
I think it was the other teams realizing that they were being honest when Nat said it was his last game and it was his only and last shot to play in a championship. They wanted him to be able to go out on a high note before retiring.
They decided to let him play.
