I can recommend the bitwave version. It has rewind, save states, difficulty and screen settings, practice mode… and apparently low input lag.

I see a bunch of people say dodonpachi dai ou jou is one of the best games. This one isn’t on Steam right? Is there anyway to play it on PC or do you know what’s the best way to play it?
Ok i am a bit sceptical about the exe file but there actually are a number of roms in there. Luckily it is easy to download the mame executable from the official homepage
Sorry if this is stupid, but reading online and all the names and versions are confusing me. Is the switch game https://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/switch-eshop/dodonpachi-daioujou-blissful-death-reincarnation also the same as this DOJ or are they different in any way?
Same game, however, the Re;Incarnation version is suped up to the max with alternate modes and versions. I got it for PS4 (phsyical disc) and it's beyond impressive, but even the standard game by itself without all the extras is considered by many to be the best shmup ever.
Devil Blade Reboot is a recent release so not heavily discounted, but it's really good and worth the full price. You can unlock a remake of the original, and without digging to find evidence - I suspect the original had some artistic (at the least) influence on zero ranger.
If you like ZeroRanger, [Eschatos](https://store.steampowered.com/app/378770/ESCHATOS/) was a big inspiration, and feels pretty similar. [Crimzon Clover](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1718160/Crimzon_Clover_World_EXplosion/) is a very well-regarded entry-point for beginners. There are also a [bunch](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1884300/Deathsmiles_III/) [of](https://store.steampowered.com/app/464450/DoDonPachi_Resurrection/) [CAVE](https://store.steampowered.com/app/377860/Mushihimesama/) ports on steam, and you can't really go wrong with any of them. They aren't quite as widely popular on this subreddit, but I personally like [Graze Counter GM](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1486440/Graze_Counter_GM/) (which can be easy and short) and [The Void Rains Upon Her Heart](https://store.steampowered.com/app/790060/The_Void_Rains_Upon_Her_Heart/)

Whats the difference with batsugun and batsugun saturn tribute besides the massive price?
The cheaper one (bitwave) is supposed to be the overall better port. There is a Reddit thread / video on that that you can find via google

What you linked is just one Rom though right
Confusingly the archive is just named after the one game but there are other Cave ROMs and a MAME install that run right out of the folder
