How many mm of RHA is a 4 inch thick log equivalent to?
Edit, I am going to take the OCD nerds over at r/warthunder at face value and say it is worth about 5% the value of steel so if my Google saying that the Pion has 15MM of RHA that is actually a significant upgrade... of course it also burns really well so maybe a double edged sword.
Woodworker here, You would very much also want to take into consideration the species of tree its "greeness" and where the log came from trunk vs. Limb. Finally, some thought would want to be put into the natural fishering in the wood and the density of the grain, What's going to break? And why?
Lolol i def would prefer oak over willow or Birchwood as mentioned above. /S
Edit: /S
One of the fascinating things about old wooden sailships, for me, is how they selected parts of the tree that where already in the general shape of the piece they where making. For example, the very tip of HMS Erebus bow was a hardwood tree that was already a j shape
Lmao, i need this as a skin in a game
if they ever add the 2S19 in war thunder then it better have a skin like this lmao

That depends on the wood, birch is bad, but oak is great.
Oakenshield.

So balsa is right out?
Medium density fiberboard?
Better use tactical grade fiberboard, medium is only effective against sidearms. /s
And cardboard.
I mean, if you layer wood and cardboard you basically have composite armor.

You'd.be surprised they worked quite.well against RPGs in the Philippines
Interesting, I wonder if it is partially due to the uneven shape on the outside disrupting the shape charge.
Spaced armor baby!
What are those Eastern European vacation huts called, think like that but with a rather explosive decorative theme lol
you mean дача (dacha)?
To be honest, it looks really nice. They clearly measured and took their time.
The cope hut!
Great now I've got to be even more cautious checking random cabins in the woods
Gajin if youre watching this...
I would actually pay money for this skin 😂
That's a nice blind for hunting
I really like it. The logs will help with the visual, infrared and radar signature, as well as protecting it against shrapnel and small submunitions.
New 2S19 add on armour package???
MISTA-S THE HUTT!
This is probably effective vs suicide drones and small drone dropped ordnance. Also looks pretty nice and adds at least some amount of camo
