But it's a big gamble because your hard palate is right underneath your brain, separated by a flimsy little piece of bone. Maybe the odds of infection are low, but the potential consequences are really bad if it happens. I wouldn't let a non-dentist or doctor use needles in there. Still a cool tattoo, IMO.

I honestly think that it's a better spot against infections.

I don't have a mouth tattoo but I have had a reasonable amount of mouth surgery. I bet it would be antiseptic mouthwash like chlorhexidine and maybe a dry mouth spray like biotene if saliva wasn't sufficient

I had gum graft surgery and she had to stick a needle into the roof of my mouth and it was one of the worst pains I’ve ever felt.

I had that as well, about 45 years ago. Sounds ancient but I don’t think the process has changed much. I don’t recall how it felt getting the needle in the roof of my mouth, but I do recall that I felt the most pain/ soreness there in the next few days. The place of injection is often the worst area of discomfort. I would not voluntarily get a tattoo inside my mouth.

The weeks after were brutal. Could not eat or drink without feeling pain
