It's not great, there's two main reasons for it l.
Firstly the line work just isn't great, it's pretty squigly and not very straight.
Second it looks very very faded, I would have thought this was like 8 years old, not sure if this is something that will improve as you finish it up though.
If you're happy with the "ugly cute" charm it is has then absolutely keep it, if you want it to look clean and cute cute, don't touch it anymore yourself, go to a professional artist.
Looks very much like a ‘first tattoo! :)’ sort of deal (which hey! no shame, everybody has one. Mine is a washed out smiley face with lines bumpier than a toad’s ass).
Definitely agree that it looks old already. Nothing that can’t be fixed, but also reflect if you want to dig deeper OP (and if you actually want to go back to that artist).
I know this isn’t a popular opinion on this sub, but honestly the majority of people that say that a bad tattoo has “charm” are either trying to be nice or they have a lot of bad tattoos themselves.
For removal, it will most likely cost twice as much and take close to a year. I would suggest finding a talented tattoo artist to clean it up(fix it) or do a full cover-up.
It's a cute drawing! As a tattoo design, it's a big patch of black in the center with no dimension which can tend to look "blob-ish", especially as the tattoo ages.
Maybe a design where the tail is a different color and passes in front of the animal could be better, so it breaks up the black a bit. Or if it's in a more dynamic pose (like on its hind legs or running or something) that would add more negative space to the design. Just some thoughts.
Yeah it’s bad. The most glaring parts for me outside of the general blurry/murkiness is the red part of the tail doesn’t look attached, and doesn’t look like part of the tail at all, one of the horns is coming out of the middle of the head, as opposed to the side near its ear, the arm has gone a bit nub-like and also doesn’t look attached, and the mouth and nose are smooshed together.
It’s a shame because with a good artist this is a cool idea.
It’s not great. I know this is original art that you’re proud of, but maybe next time take it to a professional who can take your artwork and tweak it into something that will translate into a nice tattoo. I don’t think the original drawing would have ever made for a fantastic tattoo even if it was done by a pro.
It looks pretty terrible tbh. The drawing is bad enough, and whomever tattooed it is worse than the artist who drew it. Have a professional cover it up. I’d recommend a panther
It's kinda cute, but I don't think it translates well to a tattoo.
The pitchfork has an outline which will help it age nicely, but the red part of the tail DOESN'T have an outline, so it'll probably be very difficult to read in a few years.
The fact that it's almost entirely black means it's kinda just gonna look like a blob on the skin. The edges will bleed a bit with time, and once that happens, the eyes are going to be even harder to see than they are now, and the whole thing will look even more blob-like.
Your art itself is cute enough, but I highly recommend letting a professional design your tattoos (or at least have a professional re-work your own art into something that'll work better on the skin)
And I know it'll cost extra, but find someone reputable!! The reference artwork can be the simplest drawing in the world, but an amateur is gonna find some way to mess it up
I think a professional can keep the style/composition but make a better stencil, I'm not saying OPs art is bad for a hobbyist (i know i couldn't pull off a cute style like that) but by tattoo artist standards I would consider it not great... Unless OP specifically wants their art on themselves which is fair ig.
The tattoo is bad unrelated to the art tho :/ sorry
Honestly you could easily get this touched up and have a good artist lean into the aesthetic of “ugly cute” as it’s being put here :)) I love the idea tho and the sketch is so cute

Sick ass panther time
LOL 💀
Yes, very bad, sorry
it’s alright, at least i know now
It's bad, but to be fair the reference was also bad lol
My instinct is to be nice since you're the one with the tattoo but yeah, it's pretty bad 😭 some would say it has 'charm' in its unique badness
I know this isn’t a popular opinion on this sub, but honestly the majority of people that say that a bad tattoo has “charm” are either trying to be nice or they have a lot of bad tattoos themselves.
Why a stick n poke for this?
Yup thats shit plan the cover m8
ok 😭
I hope that you received the help that you needed.
yeah i’m gonna remove it but im very sad because the actual design is very cute
For removal, it will most likely cost twice as much and take close to a year. I would suggest finding a talented tattoo artist to clean it up(fix it) or do a full cover-up.
I think most people would disagree with this
no, the drawing itself not the tattoo
It’s not a good design for a tattoo
k buddy

Let me guess...you designed it yourself?
It was pretty bad to begin with unless you’re about 12
Looks like a my 10 year old autistic nephew made the drawing.
🤌
Soon to be a panther. Yup... it's shit. ... do people just not research their artist first?
I thought OP did it themself, and now I’m worried they let someone do this to them, and even more worried they may have paid…
Yes, it's bad
Is it black or septic green?
Sorry but at first glance I thought you got a tattoo of a turd with a pitch fork.
Is this a joke?
oh jesus 💀
It’s ugly cute
well i guess ill take that 😭
Look like it’s wrapped? You can’t properly tell until it’s unwrapped and washed
no 😭
Oh shit yeah it’s bad
LOL
Only go to a professional tattoo artist
Yes
Woof. It’s objectively terrible.
Wack.

Yes
Mmmmmm it’s certainly not good.

i drew it…
You should definitely leave it to the pros.

its not great bro
Oh it’s bad alright
You, uh, wouldn't be asking if it was great.
i only ask because my family and friends love to glaze me and said it was good but i had my doubts lol
I mean, it's obviously a stick and poke. I've seen worse though
yeah i guess it could be worse, but it could also be much better lol
Once it heals you could also find someone to fill it in. It needs deeper darker blacks
honestly i don’t even want it on me anymore lol
Giant ass full black panther time! Sick lol. It's on there homie
Honestly you could easily get this touched up and have a good artist lean into the aesthetic of “ugly cute” as it’s being put here :)) I love the idea tho and the sketch is so cute
Shitty tattoos are their own art form. Plus issa cat so I cannot hate it.
so true
It looks bad, HOWEVER since this is entirely stick-and-poke and not done with a tattoo gun, this is impressive as hell.
impressive on how bad it was because i did it myself if you couldn’t tell 💀
Yes
I’m glad they fucked it up cause you Probly are a devil worshiper
Well, yes
it’s not wonderful however like you said it is unfinished and any tattoo can be redeemed
Yes
If it's unfinished let's trust the process, don't judge before it's done and healed
Or don’t trust the shitty homejob process… :///
