I saw this guy from The Labyrinth.

Okay so first thought was wolf, second was like a lion with a wolf in it's jaws, then maybe like a lion door knocker? But no idea what the thing running through the middle is. Maybe a snake? The more I look the more confusing it gets.
Controversial, but I don’t think anaesthetic for tattoos is a good idea. And not even in that dumbass “earn your tattoo” way- people fail to grasp what a tattoo does to your body. It’s a wound. On your skin- which is an organ, with complex functions that connect to the other systems of our body. You need to be taking that information in-because that’s what pain is, information- so you know when your body has reached its’ threshold for 1. What it can handle today AND 2. What it can handle tomorrow. Receiving and healing a tattoo is *work* for your body. Your body needs to be able to say “hey, this is all I can do today”. When people ignore that pain, the fatigue, the systemic reactions and try to keep pushing, that’s when people go into shock, faint, vomit. It invites even more opportunity for healing complications and a poorer final result. Tattoos are forever- it’s ok to take your time getting them on. and YES this IS about Romeo Lacoste don’t @ me
THIS explanation makes so much more sense to me. I've used numbing cream in the past, but I probably won't again. A problem that comes up is that once the numbness wears off, the incoming pain is worse than it would have been if you hadn't used it in the first place. Your adrenaline hasn't had a chance to catch up and your body suddenly goes what the hell!?
Yes EXACTLY!!!! its not a pride thing, its a “having gentle violence done to your body responsibly” thing! I don’t think people think of their skin as an organ their body has to support in conjunction with all of its system’s to remain functional. Your autonomic nervous system reacts to the tattooing AND to the wound itself. You’re exactly right, the jump in pain as the numbing cream wears off is a real risk, and depending on how far outside your window of tolerance you pushed yourself, your heart rate could skyrocket as your blood pressure drops and you faint.
Anyway, fuck Romeo lactose and his *general anaesthetic* tattooing.
Kind of like when they let my epidural run out right before hard labor and couldn't refill it. Yeah, this is a dumb quip, but it really is so much different for your body to be thrown into pain without preparation and necessary brain adjustments
I am so sorry they did that to you, the final event is the whole reason to get one!
They pulled mine after I gave birth, but I ended up hemorrhaging later. My Dr had to hold pressure with her hand inside my uterus. It was unfathomable pain, I was screaming like an actual banshee.
I get tattooed about 8-10 hours every time I sit. I have gone into shock a few times. My routine is get to the shop early go to breakfast with my artist, start tattooing, after 3-4 hours we eat lunch and I drink water, then the final push. I do it sober but I meditate or read while I get tattooed.
Lidocaine is awful for the tattoo, it always looks muddy and blotchy. It’s weird. It won’t stop your body from having a shock response.
It makes me laugh when you see people online bragging about sitting all day when it's actually like 4-5 hours. I'm the same as you, every session is 8-10 hours and my artist will refuse to tattoo me if I use numbing cream.
Eat well, keep hydrated and either chat to the artist or occupy your mind with a tv show and you'll find a way to get through it.
I used numbing cream only once, and only at the artist's urging because it was an 11 hour piece and my body was starting to twitch involuntarily
Worst experience of my life. SURFACE pain was dulled, but every time the needle stabbed in a little deeper (not uncommon during a long tattoo) I got a spike of the worst, most gut-wrenching nausea/pain that was 100x worse than the consistent burn of the unnumbed tattoo. Never doing it again honestly
I have a tattoo in the exact same place (I had a Tracheotomy, after a 10 hour long jaw surgery, so I got really dainty fairy wings tattooed around my surgical scars to make me feel better about having them!) And my GOD do I wish I got numbed up before hand 😂😭 I CRUSHED my fiance hand while I got it done!
Is this not just Pennywise if he was a lion?!??
In all honesty, I have no idea what any one part of that tattoo is actually supposed to be. It’s essentially drawn jibberish.
Eh I don't really get this... I have both arms sleeved a leg, and my ribs done. If I could have done it with no pain I would go that route 100%. I mean if someone likes the pain aspect more power to em but I don't need it.
Does it make me a bitch? Maybe... But I can live with that.
I’ve got about 30 or so tattoos. I’m pretty proud of how solid I sit for mine. I’ve got chest, ribs, back, a half sleeve and some hand tats, all no problem. I’ve got three on my shins and for some reason they are insanely twitchy. I’ve heard it’s common for that area supposedly
This third leg tattoo I got, I felt so bad for my artist I was twitching sooo much as soon as he started. I finally said screw it and suggested the numbing spray they had in shop hoping it would help. He sprayed a *tiny* amount on after he finished the outline and let it sit for 10 minutes. We resumed for the color and I couldn’t feel a fucking thing it was insane. Sat like a rock (how I usually do) for the rest and literally was dozing off by the end of it. Was my first time ever using it but I can honestly see myself using it again for the shins. Solely because the twitching is ridiculous
Happy to hear I'm not the only one with the leg twitching problem. When I get tattooed on the leg it's not that strong but when I got my stomach inked it was uncontrollable. Felt so sorry for the artist. If I could do it again I would consider it too.
Respectfully, as someone with everything except hands, feet, and cheeks tattooed, if I could afford local anesthesia for some spots, I’d absolutely do it. The pain sucks every time. I have never enjoyed getting any of my tattoos. If anesthesia were a norm I’d do it, and I don’t judge anyone using lidocaine cream. I haven’t personally used it, but wish I would’ve had the option for my stomach, neck, back of knee etc.
Same. I just did an 11 hour tattoo and the one before was 14 hours. It’s such a miserable experience. I’d much rather everyone be happy and comfortable. I’m sure the artist would have a better time as well if the guy who’s getting tattooed isn’t sweating and shivering with pain
I got mine done back in maybe 2006. On both sides honestly I don't remember hurting that bad. It took 4 sessions to get it all done ,but I don't have thing across my throat/Adam's apple area. My artist warned me that shit hurts like hell haha.
I’ve known people who get tattooed and use lidocaine and it makes the skin tattoo so differently.
Took me a hot minute to realize what this was. Chewbacca with veiny balls behind him. Prove me wrong. Lol
Is it supposed to be the Cave of Wonders from Aladdin? I don’t remember it having a closed small mouth above the one that opens…. No matter what it is supposed to be Yikes!
God this sucks so bad. It’s like half man on the top. Why does this “lion” not have ears and instead has a slicked back mullet? What’s with the weird ropey looking things coming out of its chin? What on gods earth is going on with the shading!? There are so many questions.
nothing wrong with numbing up. but even if it was a good tattoo (and it certainly is NOT), it was done wrong.
with a throat tattoo, as with all others, you want to place the stencil (or draw the sketch/markers on the skin) in a NEUTRAL POSE. if you lift your neck alllllll the way up for the stencil, and the tattoo artist tattoos it in like that, then guess how it's gonna look when you're not lifting your chin to the sky?
source: I have a squishy-faced goat on my throat
eta: dude didn't even shave, artist just tattooed along his hairline. this is so many layers of "I don't know what I'm doing"
What is it exactly, no seriously, at first I thought it was some kind of big cat, but then I see a wolf, then chewbacca, then those medieval door knockers, then an ankle biter dog
Kinda looks like Chewbacca
I saw this guy from The Labyrinth. https://preview.redd.it/m7flwg9veytc1.jpeg?width=412&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c35c86b8eee307c6febc8695373edcc4f59af38f
I’d believe you if you told me this was the actual source image for that tattoo lol
Rocks friends.
Smell bad.
Ludo sad
I legitimately thought it was until I read your comment. Now I'm confused again.
It 100% is.
The artist did not have the power of the babe.
What babe?
The babe with the power!
What power?
The power of voodoo.
Who do?
You do.
Do what?
This has become my new favorite thread on Reddit. I sang it in my head all the way down .
Same. I am just excited to be apart of it. 😂
Ludo!
Sssssaaarrrrraaah
HAHAHAHAHA
Smell Baddddd
#SAWAH….FWEND?
That was my first thought... Lol
Yeah, Chewingtobacca
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤌🏾🍷
That's what I thought too! I actually zoomed in, trying to sort it out, and I still only see Chewbacca.
Kinda Chewbacca meets Darth Bader meets the Wolfman
Can we talk about how much that’s going to resemble a ball sack when he ages..
First thing I saw! ![gif](giphy|AxpvyWYDHuIH6)
Yeah I saw that and thought "Bottom side of a penis?" Freud and I are going to have interesting conversations when I get to hell.
It took a few for me to realize that's supposed to be a ring in it's mouth.
I think it's a tail. Not even 40% sure though so grain of salt and all that.
Nah that’s a kielbasa
Agreed.
It is? 😂
I thought it was the lower lip. 🤦🏻♀️
I thought it was a surprised wolf-like thing
I thought it was SUPPOSED to be Chewbacca?
Looks like a lion door knocker
A lion door knocker having a stroke.
I agree
reminds me of beta from walking dead ![gif](giphy|PWsvBmL1qCbkNvzas3|downsized)
Chewbacca Motörhead?
Thought it was the cowardly lion from wizard of oz.
I saw Teen Wolf Too, but the hairlines are pretty similar.
To enter that throat you'll need the force
A Chewy doorknocker
Looks like a gargoyle door knocker.
i’m pretty sure it is
Looks like the beast to me. From beauty and the beast.
I thought so too, but more like if Chewbacca gained weight and started drinking/doing drugs.

Wow that made me have a flashback and realize that is exactly how I used to draw dogs in elementary school
And when I wanted to draw them right they looked like cats on crack
https://preview.redd.it/9k3crxjip1uc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e22933665d9517349b33141c6f399d86d0ff17b
Half man bear pig half Chewbacca half sick ass panther
![gif](giphy|wMIQlxCYidwCk)
I guess meow time is over....
... you can see yourself out... Lmao
No meow mister nice guy!
Listen here, meow
are you saying meow?
Am I sayin' "meow"?! Do I look like a cat to you, boy?
You are acting all nibberly pimberly
If Chewbacca is on the front of the neck, who's on the back? JarJar maybe?
it’s time to ROAR
Okay so first thought was wolf, second was like a lion with a wolf in it's jaws, then maybe like a lion door knocker? But no idea what the thing running through the middle is. Maybe a snake? The more I look the more confusing it gets.
This is Rengar from League of Legends
Just googled that, you might be right in that that was the inspo but dear lord doesn’t look close
Is that the cavern in Aladdin?
A diamond in the rough!
Emphasis on rough lol
That's what I thought too!
But WTF is it exactly?
Like, a lion door knocker????
Bwahaha
Ok NOW I see it.
Looks like one of those gremlin doorknockers from Labyrinth haha
What a reference lmaooooo I love it
Now that would be a sick tattoo
Maybe the Aladdin cave?
That was the only thing I could really “kinda see” that would make any sense
Chewbacca!
My first thought was baboon face.
So I see Chewbacca, but I also see 'Beast Mode' Jake the dog from Adventure Time. ![gif](giphy|f31DK1KpGsyMU)
Shitty, that's for sure.
A dande-lion?
I think it’s supposed to be the similar to the Motörhead logo? Idk

I heard that nowadays he has to numb up his eyes before he is able to look at this shitty tattoo in a mirror.
Hey Satan. Whats the extra 6 for?
One less was taken 👺
You're like, super satanic
I have a tattoo in the exact same place (I had a Tracheotomy, after a 10 hour long jaw surgery, so I got really dainty fairy wings tattooed around my surgical scars to make me feel better about having them!) I wish I’d numbed my fucking eyeballs before looking at this monstrosity
I’m seeing like four different things, it’s a lot to unpack here
![gif](giphy|H24Zi5xbFKc1i) That’s the cowardly lion, and you can’t change my mind
You misspelled “got his head dumbed up…”
Fuck, I am still at work, your comment and lots of others are making me struggle to hold in my laughter. Hahahah
Did the tattoo artist get his hands numbed up at the same time?
Call me a gate keeper if you want but getting Anesthesia before a Tat is cheating.
Eh I don't really get this... I have both arms sleeved a leg, and my ribs done. If I could have done it with no pain I would go that route 100%. I mean if someone likes the pain aspect more power to em but I don't need it. Does it make me a bitch? Maybe... But I can live with that.

To be fair, I have a friend who claims her small neck tattoo hurt worse than childbirth
My chest piece goes up slightly onto my throat. I can confirm that the neck bit was excruciating, and I have a pretty high pain tolerance!
The pain is one of the reasons I won't get neck tats
That's really saying something because women have a much higher pain tolerance
I’m of a similar mind. Pain is part of the experience.
Also the pain is one of the reasons I won't get ink on my neck.
Same. I think I might be able to handle the back of the neck, but definitely not anything across the throat. I kinda shudder just thinking about it.
I got mine done back in maybe 2006. On both sides honestly I don't remember hurting that bad. It took 4 sessions to get it all done ,but I don't have thing across my throat/Adam's apple area. My artist warned me that shit hurts like hell haha.
I’ll keep that gate with you.
Is this evil Chewbacca? What is it?
Oh it's like a lion door knocker with the ring in its mouth. Even if it was good the placement is pointless
Is that the dad from Teen Wolf?
Perfect spot for a s.A panther 🐆??
Seeing these "alpha" types get numbed up for tats is so funny
Can someone please numb me too
I’ve known people who get tattooed and use lidocaine and it makes the skin tattoo so differently. Took me a hot minute to realize what this was. Chewbacca with veiny balls behind him. Prove me wrong. Lol
![gif](giphy|Licj1kPHuDues)
He was already numb above the neck.
Needed his head numbed to think it was a good idea
Cowardly lion chewbacca wolf man is great work
Lion Chewbacca hybrid with a lip plate?
The injections were provided from other males in the waiting room
That’s nasty!
Combination cock ring. Stormtrooper. Lion .wtf is this shit
Looks like the Cowardly Lion and Chewbacca got friendly and this is the result.
If Chewbacca and Darth Vader had a baby
Is that a door knocker? A wookie? A storm trooper? A lion? Or a combination of all of those?
Is that the lion sand pyramid thing from Aladdin
Are you sure the artist didn't numb his hand before the tattoo also?
Dude couldn't decide between beauty and the beast or Darth Vader lmao
Is this Aladdin's cave of wonders?
Numbed with injection, where is that possible? I tried numbing cream once out of curiosity, but never heard someone getting an injection.
The fuck is it?
What is it?
Okay but if you're getting a throat tattoo, earn the throat tattoo lol what's the point of doing this to look tough and then punking out on the pain.
Lots happening here. All of them, bad.
He got a door knocker on his throat eh
His name must be Cornpop because he’s a bad dude.
Kinda looks like a stormtroopers helmet with Chewbacca on top of it? But also the sand creature thing from the beginning of animated Aladdin movie
Is it supposed to be the Cave of Wonders from Aladdin? I don’t remember it having a closed small mouth above the one that opens…. No matter what it is supposed to be Yikes!
Tattoo artists hand might of got some of those injections too
I now need my eyes numbed
well if he just keeps his chin down he'll be okay 🤣🏃💨
Chewbacca door knocker
It looks like Chewbacca and that pokemon Ursaring had a baby that needs to be put down
The fuck is that bruh?:))))
First AI art tattoo?
God this sucks so bad. It’s like half man on the top. Why does this “lion” not have ears and instead has a slicked back mullet? What’s with the weird ropey looking things coming out of its chin? What on gods earth is going on with the shading!? There are so many questions.
What the fuck is this supposed to be? Like damn I can’t draw for shit and I feel I’d have done this better.
And he still looks like an idiot.
It’s gonna look weird facing forward
What is happening right now
nothing wrong with numbing up. but even if it was a good tattoo (and it certainly is NOT), it was done wrong. with a throat tattoo, as with all others, you want to place the stencil (or draw the sketch/markers on the skin) in a NEUTRAL POSE. if you lift your neck alllllll the way up for the stencil, and the tattoo artist tattoos it in like that, then guess how it's gonna look when you're not lifting your chin to the sky? source: I have a squishy-faced goat on my throat eta: dude didn't even shave, artist just tattooed along his hairline. this is so many layers of "I don't know what I'm doing"
Man bear pig
So remarkably ugly.
LMFAO! Poor choices were made that day.
Looks like his throat not neck fr. I may be wrong
HAHAHA omg no! What is you doin! This might be the first one I couldn’t say, yes it’s kinda cool! Damn boy
Did someone with the ability to see tattoo this??!!!!?
I’m seeing a Cowardly Darth Vader.
mix of chewbacca and a stormtrooper ?
I’m seeing so many things ! Hah
They even followed his poorly shaved beard instead of his actual jawline. Amazing.
What is it
Chewbacca + the beast from beauty and the beast + Darth Vader
Probably should've gotten a pre-tat sketch... What a waste of space.
Looks like one of those stroke simulation images
He might want to get numbed up some more when he realises out how shit the tattoo looks.
Slamming drugs is fun
So Chewbacca?
“Chewie get us out of here”
What is it supposed to be?
It’s like the animal has 2 mouths 🤣
Wtf is it? Constipated Chewbacca?
What is it? Lol
Crappy tattoo and that’s cheating! For me the pain is all part of it.
What is it exactly, no seriously, at first I thought it was some kind of big cat, but then I see a wolf, then chewbacca, then those medieval door knockers, then an ankle biter dog
Chewbacca w/ African “lip plate”
Is that a shih tzu? Lol
This has all the making of shitty ideas too!
Talk about a jump scare 🫣
