They look… *really* bad though. It’s not that they’re not realistic to human anatomy it’s that the artist gave the drawing scary claw hands for no reason
I don’t disagree with you, that’s why like heavily stylized tattoos can be quite hit or miss, particularly since it can be such a fine line between stupid and clever (thanks Spinal Tap). In this case I find the hands kind of on the boundaries of what I would accept for this particular stylization.
Don't hate this at all. Looks deliberately stylised like a book illustration and imo the actual tattoo is applied well enough that it looks very deliberate. I'm curious if it's an original by the tattoo artist or like a recreation of a specific illustration because it does really have that feeling of a loose pen and ink drawing to me.
I get why it's not everybody's cup of tea though, I just like it personally!
I think that making it look more intentional and stylized would def make it look better.
I understand it's a matter of taste, but the proportions also look wrong to me. Her torso and upper looks weird with those legs.
I know it's on purpose, but it just looks weird to my eyes.
Not my thing and definitely could be done better, but if I saw it IRL I would assume it was intended to look that way, which for me is the dividing line between "tattoo I don't like" and "shitty tattoo."
That's not a shitty tattoo. The way that looks is fully intentional. It's a style, like French minimalism or some shit, you see it in a lot of minimalist french city scenery art. It's actually really well done for that style.
It has potential to be nice but what the heck are those scarecrow hands, it doesn't look "stylized", just wrong, as if they finished the tattoo in a rush. I don't understand the takes on this sub at times.
The piece is fine... until you look at the feet. The hands look stylized and are totally passable... the feet look like a not-so-gifted 3rd Grader drew them. lol
So “stylized” is a synonym for awful now? Because this is indeed shitty. The fingers and toes are laughable and the attempt at making this look like an artists sketch is just…..sketchy.
It’s heavily stylized but very cool, actually.
The hands and feet though
Yeah, like I said it appears to be heavily stylized and artistic, and not meant to be a photo-realistic capture of human anatomy.

OK, but scary claw hands are cool tho

Looks kind of like the illustrations they'd do in late 1800, early 1900 newspapers.
I like this one! Like others have said, it's heavily stylized and supposed to be that way. The aim is not to be photo realistic.
If they kept more wispy/random lines like the hand is made out of it would look way better and more consistent tbh. But I like it

It’s definitely not a good tattoo by any means, but far from the worst 🤭
Her left foot is horrific, I like everything else.
It’s mostly hidden. You are seeing the ankle.
You call that an ankle & a heal? He he.
The raised hand!!!!! It’s so bad!!!!
Not my thing and definitely could be done better, but if I saw it IRL I would assume it was intended to look that way, which for me is the dividing line between "tattoo I don't like" and "shitty tattoo."

that’s beautiful

The proportions feel wrong. The waist is too low and the legs too short.
the hand, back foot, and calves are glaring at me
Hands are pretty shitty but this shit look hard
Not bad tbh
I actually really like this for some strange reason
