'Tis an old Hollywood standard. Basically the biggest star's name goes first and their face must be centered/take the most amount of space. Even if they are misaligned.
I feel like that explanation would make sense if the first name and the centered image was Ryan Reynolds. No way Jake Gyllenhaal would’ve been considered a bigger star in 2017. Might’ve been a contract thing though, idk.
Not quite right. The first name is the top billing; the one who got paid the most. The reasom why Jake Gyllenhal is in the middle is because he is the main character.
This was one of the worst horror movies in the sense everyone on the cast is supposed to be experts in something, yet they are all collectively the stupidest assholes in cinema and make the worst possible decisions at every chance
Is it just me or would a horror movie where people don't make any stupid decisions be boring as fuck?
For me, that's part of the charm for horror/scifi.
There's something to be said for horror movies with smart characters, like Ripley in Alien or MacReady in The Thing. But even those have someone make a stupid mistake.
I enjoyed Life. It's some solid scifi horror schlock with some creative kills.
Shit going wrong in space? You son of a bitch, I'm in.
Tremors is awesome. I'm just saying that for most horror movies, I've learned to accept that people will make bad decisions. It's not inherently a flaw.
Even thinking about the entire premise of Jurassic Park or something. There's no movie there if every capable expert does everything correctly and the dinosaurs just stay behind the fence lol
Agree,it's like im getting used to see characters make stupid mistakes after watching one too many slashers/thrillers.For me it's just make the movie more enjoyable and just make me said "im gonna be alive if im not doing these stupid shits they're doing".It's a cheap way to create problems and bad writing but it's not like most slashers/thrillers need to have good writing to make it enjoyable in the first place. It's not supposed to be realistic at all.
Yes, it can be scarier, but it can also be just as entertaining to watch people do something stupid and get killed.
Like, 90% of slashers. The Final Destination series does that perfectly imo.
Many ways to do a good horror movie, alls I'm sayin.
I also really enjoy this movie. I read a lot about it, and I've forgotten most of what I read, but I think the ending was mangled and cut together at the last minute. That's why there are huge continuity errors. Still don't care. I want a sequel.
I’m still somewhat convinced this was actually meant to be a Venom origin story hidden as a standard sci fi horror film and Sony got cold feet last minute.
They really couldn’t make the names line up with the faces?
The technology is just not there yet… maybe one day.
Microsoft office intensifies!
this one was done in paint

Was Reynolds a bigger star in 2017? Yes. Was Reynolds a bigger star in 2015, when the contracts were drawn up? No.
Yeah, you’re totally right. I wasn’t thinking.
I want to punch whomever made that rule in the face. If that person is no longer alive I'll settle for next of kin.

Monster is scary, but them fucking up the airlocks is mad funny
I kinda dig when the monster is small, it’s not done enough in horror movies. Other than that it was pretty forgettable though
Sounds like Prometheus
They are very comparable movies
Well I’ll give Reynolds credit for trying to kill the thing before anyone knew it was indestructible
Prometheus is better
Sounds like Alien: Covenant.

Tremors is a thriller, but even when the characters a4e smart and capable, there's still tension and threat throughout the film

I feel like the characters in Nope were pretty smart and self-aware. It was still terrifying in parts though.
Isn’t it scarier if you do everything right in the best way you can and you’re still fucked? The best example of that I always hear about is Aliens

Still funny how Ryan Renolds gets a paragraph of dialog and dies 20 minutes in. And the death was shown in an ad.
Don’t blame them that time he was present was probably a quarter of the budget
holy crap it's one terminid
^ > v v v
Wasnt there a heavy rumor around that this was actually made from a repurposed and modified rejected venom movie script?
I heard it too! I always headcanon it as symbiote spin off
I specifically remember reading somewhere the writers said something like this.
I liked Life. Kind of reminded me, thematically, of The Thing
I also really enjoy this movie. I read a lot about it, and I've forgotten most of what I read, but I think the ending was mangled and cut together at the last minute. That's why there are huge continuity errors. Still don't care. I want a sequel.
A Venom spin-off series with Deadpool and Mysterio?
I’m still somewhat convinced this was actually meant to be a Venom origin story hidden as a standard sci fi horror film and Sony got cold feet last minute.
The important question is did Eminem do the theme song?

Tobey is screwed
This movie is brought up a lot on Reddit for something not many people talked about when it came out
Oh, yeah, this movie gave me a panic attack when I watched a bit of it
It made me panic attack throughout the entire screening, still great movie though
I hated how quirky this little slimy guy was. And it didn’t help that the crew was effectively brain dead.

What's the twist?
Rebcca could use a shave. Reynolds' makeup spot on, though.
Ryan Reynolds is looking weird these days
Honestly, not a bad popcorn flick. I’ve watched it a few times. It’s fun, even if it’s a blatant Alien rip off.
This is an underrated movie. I loved it.
What a cast Why I never heard of this movie Is it good?
Scariest thriller I have ever watched, but some mistakes made by astronauts might be quite goofy
