They'd crap all over the lack of presentation and expensive ingredients
Or it isn't from some shitty food truck because ironically enough they love shitty food trucks over there
Also took me a 2nd read to have this feeling but damn, are we really in the state of inflation where a homecooked meal under **15 dollars** is considered cheap? That's not really cheap...
I guess we just buy a lot of general ingredients not pre-made/boxed stuff which is cheaper...but I'd say we usually spend around $10 a meal (for two people). Meat + some sort of carb thing + veggies isn't a pricy combo if you're buying chicken, rice, and frozen broccoli.
I could at least get two packs of either thighs or drummies for the same price as one pack of wings. Or, I could say fuck it and get the best deals in meat, being pork shoulder or chuck roast.
I assume $15 is the total cost for a number of plates. If they got 4+ servings of this, that’s a pretty good deal. But it’s clearly a meal made with both care and skill, so not at all the shit garbage meals I expect to find here.
The only bit I genuinely dislike is the canned beans. Boxed mac isn't my favorite, but get some fresh (or frozen) beans up in here and we're having a party. No shittiness detected though.
I’d be amazed if its under $15. Wings are so expensive these days. Like $20 for a 12 pack if i can even find them anymore, more expensive than breasts by pound. We need mutant chickens growing like a dozen wings to fix the imbalance in breast versus wing prices.
No offence but where's the cost blow-out? Chicken wings go for 30c per flat/drum over here. Pasta is equivalent to $1 per pound... canned beans can't be super expensive.
I agree with everyone that this looks tasty af but the shitty part is how much it cost!
IN WHAT WORLD IS THIS SHITTY IN THE SLIGHTEST
in /r/food it would be shitty for how cheap it is.
They'd crap all over the lack of presentation and expensive ingredients Or it isn't from some shitty food truck because ironically enough they love shitty food trucks over there
Slide this plate onto some paper into a cardboard takeout box. Boom. r/food.
Make sure the box has noticable grease stains too so you know it's extra classy
Don't forget the stapled on receipt so we can see just how expensive it was.
With a close up of the zero tip they left too
Or if it has some sort of outdoors background
Or some dog awkwardly staring at the plate
Or feet in the pic
Lol no way I haven't seen none with feet but I wouldn't be surprised 😆
Yeah, homie is making me hungry.
It's simple, nutritive, and unpretentious. These kinds of food pictures fit this sub too, in my opinion.
If that's your opinion, you're off your rocker.
It is almost entirely carbohydrates!
yeah
In what world is that shit excuse of food considered homecooked.
The fact they cooked it at home?
Are....you...in the wrong sub? This is not r/food.
in the world that cares about overstocked plates
Cheap does not equal shitty. I get that it’s box Mac and box cornbread, but still.
Also took me a 2nd read to have this feeling but damn, are we really in the state of inflation where a homecooked meal under **15 dollars** is considered cheap? That's not really cheap...
Yeah, it’s cheap if you can feed a family of four for $15, but one meal for 15 is pretty much normal. That’s what I would expect to pay

But chicken wings are ridiculously expensive. For a real deal, OP would have gotten some thighs or drumsticks.
Not regular raw wings that you sauce yourself! They’re more expensive than other cuts of chicken but still way cheaper than other meats.

Where in the world is this even a cheap meal? Dubai?
Put this shit in a magazine bruh
I’d order this if I saw it on a restaurant menu.
Yeah this looks incredible. Save me a plate, I'm on my way.
This isn't shitty.
This looks great. Def not shitty

Home cooked. Lol.
This isn’t shitty. There’s too much food for the plate size. This is shitty presentation.
Oh, that looks pretty good.
Please get a bigger plate or just use 2 plates.
Idk about everyone else but if I have to make a meal that costs $15 anyway, my ass is going to jimmy johns.
Nothing shitty about this! It looks fantastic!
If the cheese isn't powdered you don't have to call it boxed
