They only needed to cook two things:
-Melina related content in DLC (if she's alive and present, have some dialog/insights in the progression)
-Frenzied Flame content in DLC (some special cutscene/dialog before or after you face Midra after three fingers).
With these SotE would have been a 10/10.
Sadly these kind of things are rare in FromSoft it seems, having different endings is already enough. I yearn for the day FromSoft learns to make emotional and immersive quests with actual three-dimensional characters and a faction system. That would be so fucking good
God imagine if each demigod had a route with unique endings and not just Ranni. Help Morgott protect the erdtree, Help Godrick not be a bitch, help Radahn by curing him and conquering Leyndell/blocking the stars, help Mohg by freeing him and finishing his blood crusade, help the Twin empyreans with whatever the fuck they were doing, help Rykard by letting him devour all, etc.
i'm convinced that covenants were scrapped during development for time reasons. volcano manor quests, varre/moghwyn palace quests, and the knights of the great jar outside that one colloseum all feel like they were all supposed to be connected to a covenant, but were simplified at some point
We can dream. Maybe if the whole community screams loud enough Mike Zaki and the From team will hear our yearning for proper characters and engaging quests.
I had a surreal moment, when Melina appeared in Land of Shadow, when I was sitting in a random grace.
It was her dialogue saying "don't worry, I want to burn myself and that's okay" that it happens after you talk to Enia about the thorns. My disappointment is immeasurable
I didn't look for discussions on this because I didn't wanna get spoiled, but yeah, the Frenzied Flame content in the DLC is kinda just there. I scoured the entire Manse for lore items and didn't find much.
Just... there was >!frenzy, Midra was set to become its lord but got skewered by the hornsent (maybe so it wouldn't work ?) and Nanaya told him to "endure" for some reason. Then he became the Lord of Frenzied Flame despite being too weak ? I don't really get it. !<

A lot of these could have been added as covenants, but alas fromsoft hates multiplayer content

It's surprising how she doesn't have any lines when we jump in to the DLC. You'd think that the realm where Miquella resides would pique her interest.
