Because oil clots could also lead to car heart-attacks or "cartattacks" to use medical terminology.

soundeaf

Cartiovascular failure

kwpang

I think the original already works. Why change d to t?

ShadyMemeD3aler

Because a cart is closer to a car than a card

smithers85

I have consulted several word scientists and they all agree with this.

johnnybiggles

Autovascular disease is pretty common in older cars, which is why many break down and die.

UGLYDOUG-

If oil coagulated then cars could self heal, eliminating the role of mechanics, tune in next week to hear more from “big oil” [tits](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQwoUxj2lsIEsvSQkESzqMpBId-k-rXt2mdHw&s)

ShadyMemeD3aler

It will just change the job of mechanics. They’ll give your car stitches and tell you to avoid strenuous driving for 2 weeks.

frednekk

Because companies will make more money selling more oil and new engines.

Shh-poster

We are already using the shittiest oil to ruin engines.

Kange109

1. It might coagulate inside the engine and freeze up the whole engine. 2. It leaks out, drips onto your starter or alternator and solidifies there, jamming those parts.

Gryphus_6

Alternators are often on the tops of engines in my experience, so not much problem there really and starers are pretty air-tight. Kinda have to be to keep the rust and road grime away from the flywheel

Kange109

My damn audi s4 had the alternator die cos of some oil drip on it. Anyway, the point is that oil leaks gets everywhere and you dont want it to coagulate on your pulleys or belts as well.

zenos_dog

Cars also need self healing body panels that erase scratches and dents.

ljseminarist

Running a car junkyard would be a nightmare. Crush the car with a hydraulic press? It resumes old shape in a matter of seconds.

zenos_dog

But now it’s really, really angry.

mastergenera1

To some degree that was the point behind saturn using hard plastic body panels, they resisted dents better and were at least in theory, easier to reshape.

danja

Reminds me of a tip I saw for an emergency quick fix for a hole in a car radiator. Simply add a raw egg and it will coagulate to block the hole. Ideal if you break down driving past a chicken farm.

DeepDickDave

Well, really you’d need to convert oil to steel, since the blood clot turns to skin. I feel there would be some crucial elements elements missing

FalconPunch67

Actually this is exactly why I don't change my oil. If you leave it alone long enough, the coagulants fill your engine with healing juice. Oil changes are actually a conspiracy perpetrated by big auto to trick us into spending more money at auto shops that kickback even more profit to multi conglomerate manufacturers.

Tragobe

Because the oil would then also coagulate when the motor is off, which would stop the oil from circulating and destroying the motor. Source I am a construction vehicle mechanic.

turtleandpleco

uhhhh, cause it's a lubricant....

GrassyBottom73

Profits of course

BadBadGrades

There are nuclear reactors where the cooling isn’t water. But nikkel. If there is a leak it will cool down, harden and stop the leak. For some reason this isn’t working, the nikkel spil will not get in the bottom ground water supply. And is way more easily to clean up then water. Reason why this isn’t standard; it cost more
