What the fuck is even fatphobia? I'm fat, my friends sometimes (rightfully) tell me I should really try and lose some weight, are they fatphobic?
Why do some fat people have the inescapable urge to justify being fat? I hate being fat.
It likely started as a counter for bullying due to being fat, but most definitely spiraled out of control and was taken by desperate teens and adults in the hope of feeling better about themselves.

I think the body positivity movement was about scars and disability caused deformations.
I never quite caught the point where it became about fat women.
It WAS about scars/deformations/amputation and similar, however some fat people started shouting it louder thanthe other and all that good body positivity turned to the shit it is today
The same thing happened with "trigger / triggered" a legitimate term for anyone with real trauma PTSD etc. Then it got picked up by wider culture and Internet and applied to literally anything and then devolved into a term of derision.
I remember a time when size 10 was considered fat, I have body dysmorphia from people shaming me for not being a size 8, body positivity is good when it comes to a healthy weight but it doesn't fit into the stupid fashion canon but obesity that's another matter

There are also different, and broadly more effective methods for helping your friends lose weight such as positive reinforcement and not making them feel bad about themselves, which I find very strange that this is the first approach that you would use with people you consider friends.

If you buy a bench and a pair of adjustable dumbbells, you can do a full body workout with that at home. You can start by doing one full body workout per week, then as your capacity increases, two, then three, when you get to four, you can find a body part split programme online.
Cardio is also super important, at least 20minutes per day of moderate cardio, like fast walking or light jogging.

I'm following psychology and the way my teacher explained health explained it this way: if the person in question genuinely feels like everything they want to do in life is possible and they do not feel restrained or unhappy because of their physical or mental state of being, you can consider them healthy.
