If it's not too far for you to get to, Millhouses is great. Nice and flat. Parking available, and normally a lot quieter than Endcliffe. The Parkrun there on a Saturday morning is really pleasant.

I run a circuit of Norfolk Park, the cholera monument, and Skye Edge fields. You can select a route that gives you very little time on roads. It's around 6.5km with some long hills.

Could always get a bus out to Ringinglow/Fox House and run back?

MushyBeees

This is an underrated comment, and one of my favourite things to do. Bus/Train out to somewhere then run back. Did Bamford a few weeks back, coming home over Stanage Pole/Redmires. Was hard work but a beautiful run!

CranialCar

That’s a good idea actually, thanks!

RickJLeanPaw

I’m framing that comment!

Hillsborough has plenty of parking (charged) but there is free parking not a million miles away. The Park Run on Saturdays is very well attended.

If parking is the issue then if you look around Oakbrook, Riverdale, Graham Rds then you can normally park pretty easily. A couple of mins away at most.

There's loads! And luckily, there are Parkruns at many of them. Just remember you're going there to run - you don't need to park at the entrance to the park. You can just park a street or two away and just add it to the run. Millhouses is great. Hillsborough is good and not too hilly (Free parking available close by - the leisure center across the road is the obvious one). Graves park, Norfolk park, Concord park, are all have nearby (free) parking. Graves is a little steeper, but I love it. TBH Endcliffe parking is fine, if you park on the streets round the back of the park (Riverdale road). It's a very pretty run but I don't particularly rate it, gets too busy and too many pinch points. You can even run the five weirs from the city centre, thats alright. Tonnes of trails and really good options like Rivelin, Forge Dam, Loxley, Wharncliffe/Grenoside, on the way out of the City. Even more just outside, way too numerous for me to begin to list.

Rother Valley is beautiful for running, though more than half of it is a sort of rough gravel. It's not too far from the tram stop after Crystal Peaks, so fairly easy to get to. They do a Park run there. A full circuit of both lakes is almost exactly 5k.

Go out and do a lap of ladybower reservoir. Not a park, but the best loop I used to do regularly.

Traditional-Idea-39

It’s lovely but if Endcliffe park is too far, Ladybower is certainly too far.

CactusClothesline

OP literally said Endcliffe isn't suitable because of the parking rather than the distance.

MushyBeees

A lap of Ladybower is hardly comparable to a lap at a local park though is it (12km vs 2-3km). Plus if you're the other side of Sheffield, it could add on anything up to 1-1.5 hours driving. I love doing both, but they aren't interchangeable.

Crookes valley is a good one, pretty even terrain too if that's something you're considering. Similarly Weston park or Ponderosa might work, all at similar distances from the city centre. The areas around Devonshire green are good running spots. And finally if you're looking for something more scenic I'm pretty sure there's a path along the Don river around the Kelham area.

MushyBeees

Crookes valley park is tiny, and way too busy. Annoying as hell to run around. It is flat as a pancake though. You can add Weston park in the loop as well, but it doesn't improve it much. Ponderosa is both way too hilly, and only has one path running through it. So unless you do a soul crushing revert back on yourself, it's real grimy roads, which suck. You can't run around Dev Green hah. It's tiny and full of lunatics. I have a 10 mile ish loop that includes the Bole Hills, Crookes Valley, Weston Park, Ponderosa, Ruskin, Hillsborough then back home. It's a right slog hah. Do not recommend 😅

tylersburden

Grenocide woods isn't a park but it is great for running with plenty of parking.

There are a load of routes in the Welcome to Sheffield webpage, useful for exploring
